Three people now have declined friend request from me. The hunter who had just enough burst in hand to kill me, I would have told him that the very next turn I would have played Reno Jackson and Youthful Brewmaster. You were ahead of me by one turn.
To the secret paladin who I held off for so long -- through two mysterious challengers and a tirion, I got you to fatigue, but I had 11 cards left in my deck, and my Reno Jackson wasn't one of them. Unfortunate for me, because had I drawn that a turn sooner, I would have won that game. Survived all the secrets, survived all the shielded mini bots and the dr. boom, the tirion, the mechs. Lost to a Knife Juggler and truesilver champion.
And to the shaman... I guess that's why shamans are so overpowered right now. Perfect start with the trog, follow up with wolves, tuskarr totemic summoning mana tide totem, and whirling zap-o-matic with a bloodlust right on turn 5.
Well... not really clear if you want friends, seems like you just want to shake off the salt or throw shit to them. So there you have why they dont accept lol
Usually people decline friend requests to avoid assholes raging about the loss / gloating about the win. Doesn't seem like what you're doing is too far off from that too though.
I mean, you could've played Reno and Brewmaster. So what? Do you really need to tell your opponent that to feel better about it? And because your opponent didn't want to hear it, you made a thread on the forums?
1) if they are the one who lost, they don't want to be humiliated by ego players
2) if they are the one who won, they don't want to deal with players who excuses their loss and put blame to bad draw and RNG, or just want to avoid potential bad language.
Of course not, all we ever get when we accept requests is "U Suck, lololol" and then they remove themselves. It's become healthier to never say yes now.
The fact of the matter is, you still lost all three of those games, and I'm pretty sure that none of those people you wanted to add as friends particularly cared if you had Reno Jackson or not. If it were me in their shoes, I definitely wouldn't, unless you were playing a genuinely interesting deck and you were a turn away from some kind of crazy double Malygos surprise lethal or something.
If you just wanted to rant about how lucky they were or how unlucky you were, we have a salt thread for that.
It's specifically due to friend requests like this where someone will either shake salt at you or insult you for winning that most people ignore friend requests. Saddens me actually, because I personally only send friend requests when I want to compliment my opponent's list/play, ask them a question, or point out a missed lethal in a constructive manner, and having people be paranoid about friend requests like these are why many such requests get ignored.

Apparently, Hearthpwn won't save your signature if it's empty.
I've had hit and miss results with friending people. Usually the hardcore players don't friend me because their used to my decks. The ones that accept my requests or send me requests are usually like "OMG YOU PLAYED RAGNAROS! I'VE BEEN PLAYING SINCE BETA AND I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE LEGEND!"

Been playing Hearthstone since March 2015. Avid theory crafter and card conceptualizer.
The first (and only) time I accepted a friend request from a person I beat in-game started and ended with them spamming me with vulgarity because I'm a "cheating cunt" who should kill myself.

I enjoy the toxicity. You get used to it, and it's fun to throw a few cheeky profanities at idiots

I rarely accept requests regardless of the outcome. The last time I did, it involved salt, both in terms of my deck and me as a person. (I didn't respond, but I thought, "Do you always talk to women this way, or just your mother?"
I find myself only sending requests when I think my opponent has a cool name. That's why I have friends like Fat Geisha (love geishas), Gato Loco (Spanish for "crazy cat") and Whovian Girl. :D
I always accept friend requests just to hear what hilarious insults they can throw at me. Nobody sends those things looking to make actual friends, not in my experience anyways
Hey, I noticed this thread, and I was wondering how you actually add someone you recently battled with. Is there a way to do this? I know it shows who you last played against, and I've tried typing in peoples names but that doesn't seem to be enough to to add them. Can someone help me with this?
The one reason I send people requests when they beat me is rather simple. I have three friends only and all of them play very rarely or have quit playing. So, when I get a 'Watch and Learn' it sits in my quests for an eternity - as is the case right now. Naturally, nobody accepted any of them, and I think this thread gave me some possible reasons for that.

In my experience, I always get something along the line of, "Fuck You". But that's just me.
hi
Why do you feel the need to tell them this? Isnt it enough that you know you could win? I'm sincerely curious since they would most likely not care

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
Most ppl decline for 2 reasons:
1) if they are the one who lost, they don't want to be humiliated by ego players
2) if they are the one who won, they don't want to deal with players who excuses their loss and put blame to bad draw and RNG, or just want to avoid potential bad language.

That's simply because they didn't want to hear your petty excuses for losing.

just accept you lost.
it doesn't matter if you lose by one turn or many. you were soundly beaten.

I used to accept request, but people on the internet are crazy.
They told me they would kill me, my family, and my little dog too.
I always accept the friend requests. You know... just to make them feel better after a lose.

I like to make cards and discuss game balance.
I enjoy when "No similar decks were found."

When their name appears at the bottom of the IM box, I usually click on it a few times and then try hitting add.
You'll know the system finally took it when the "add friend" box comes up and it has their name in it--at which point, you can confirm.
