I enjoy games and although this is my first card game, I really want to like it, and would if not for the money factor. I am in a situation where I have to funnel 100% of my funds into other things and can't even afford to drop a spare $3 on 2 packs, or even $2 to play arena.
That being said I still want to enjoy this game. I played mage to get the hang of it then swapped to Lock which was my main class for years in WoW. I enjoyed the playstyle quite a bit. I tried out warrior, shaman, and wanted to try pally and druid.
My first problem is that I cannot decide what deck I want to play the most. I feel like I should go with Lock just because I seem to have gotten the luckiest with cards for it so far. I really want to play shaman but I don't even have any damage dealing or removal spells for it outside of frost shock and rockbiter weapon and stormforged axe or w/e.
The other problem is that at Diamond 2 right now I have lost 9 of the last 10 games I have played to people that just have amazing decks. Every single game results in me losing to cards I can't deal with because of my limited card pool. I know smart play even with basic cards should be able to do a great deal but it is SO frustrating to constantly lose to these seemingly perfect decks filled with amazing cards. Either I am only playing people who have dropped a ton of money on the game or they could all be lottery winners.
Tips on what decks would make me want to uninstall the least with just basics? I prefer control centered decks over hyper-aggro ones.
I'm not expert, not even I'm in beta yet, but watching some videos and tournments, I saw that there are board-cleaning, anti-Legendary cards. Somewhere arround youtube you can find videos of totally F2P decks that win against 3~5 Legendary decks. Not a long shot, but there's hope for you.
You don't need to spend money on this, I haven't, if you get good at arena, use the gold you earn from dailies/wins to enter arena. If you get good and keep a 72%+ win rate you go in the positive and thus gaining free 1-2 packs each arena run.
Warrior, Priest, and Hunter all compete very well in 3star masters with little to no rare cards because they all have very solid Commons/Basics. Hunter is pretty aggro, so probably oout of the question. Warrior does significantly better with at least 2 rares (Frothing Berserkers) whether you play aggro or control. I don't play priest, but i've run into time and time again without seeing any epics or legendaries being played.
The problem is your prefered playstyle and ability to spend money. Control requires some specific Rares and sometimes Epics to rank high on a regular basis. So you came to the point where both doesn't work.
F2P is much easier to maintain playing Aggro/Rush, with the exception of Mage Control. If you can accept the switch, try out some warlock rush. It is very easy to play and learn, and wins on a regular basis, wether ranked or not. This helps maintaining gold income. It also has the advantage of guiding you to a Warlock Control Deck later. Warlock Control plain and simply is fun. Warlock Rush can be played okay with pure basic, works very good with only basics/commons, and hardly needs rares to play wonderful on top. Also all Rares favourable for Warlock Rush work good in Warlock Control.
If you don't want to spend money (which I totally understand), play Arena. You should be able to get entry via gold every three days, which grants a pack and an hour or two of play. For my understanding, this is good F2P. Arena is much more in favour of your playstyle, helps much more learning and training your skills. And is easier to play for free, even if you aren't one of those winning 7+ nearly every time.

Thanks for the input. I'll just do the daily quests and arena every few days then. It is a little upsetting that I wont be able to properly play my preferred style without getting rarer cards but I will try out a few of the decks you guys have posted.

You will eventually get the cards you need, because you're sure to get enough gold to buy packs from winning games and doing dailies.
Then you can disenchant the cards you don't need (duplicates and/or cards from classes you don't play) and then craft your missing cards from dust. Just don't expect to get legendaries or epics like that (too expensive in dust).
I'm currently at masters 2, w/o having even a rare card in my deck, just commons, and those 40 dust carst, plus i have ~750gold, since i've been able to make my arenas pay for themselves on the overall.
You should consider watching streams and reading some guides, once you learn the game better you will gain more ranks.
Plus make sure to not stack more than 3 dailys, so you don't lose the easy profit
You'll never truly be able to complete without spending money. Treat the game like any normal MMO. spend $60 up front and $15 a month and you'll be able to complete all day long.

It's a tier list for common cards. It should be able to help you :)
