As new WoG cards are revealed I have been designing decks within the Standard format limits (all Standard sets plus what is known so far from WoG) and nothing yet has negated any aggro deck (Hunter, Paladin, and Rogue). You can see that Blizzard really wants to slow down the meta and impact of aggro, and has for the past two expansions, but it just doesn't seem possible without some new mechanic. I'd love to see the game slow down personally so this isn't a good thing IMO.
I have been playing a bunch of Standard decks with existing cards for a week or so now and consistently the aggro decks outperform the other options and beat a pretty wide variety of currently viable decks (up to about rank 9-10). Most of the games with Standard aggro decks have not made it to turn 10 so C'Thun and the other heavy legendaries wouldn't even see play unfortunately. I'm holding out hope that things will still slow down, but within limits. I don't want every match to be mill/fatigue either. However, 12-18 round games would be fine.
If at all, the meta will get faster with the removal of Antique Healbot, Deathlord and Sludge Belcher. Or what cards from GvG/Naxx is aggro losing? (except Haunted Creeper that is not exactly the most important aggro-card) And no, i don't talk about a midrange-card like Piloted Shredder!
What charge is getting nerfed besides FON? Maybe some of the bigger burst spells like fireball/kill command will also be nerfed to minion only. Mage wins so many games with fireball to face. :(
Blizzard has been saying this - but they prove they actually mean what they say by , as someone said above, nerfing knife juggler etc. I'm not convinced. We have no reason to believe their PR bs, "Oh no we can't nerf Dr boom, some people worked really hard for that card"...."What did we say before? Who cares, two year rotation boyz".
They know people are vocal about wanting a slower meta, so they can play their big legendaries they worked hard for, they also think they know what people want better than they do, and that is fast games.
I think they were just worried about the power creep getting out of hand while wanting to continue to sell packs. Now they've got a system where they are free to create stupidly OP cards to sell, and they're not permanent, they're roated out in two years no matter what.
This game will become really boring if they nerf all of burst spells.
Lets all spam legendaries every turn and the one who dies to fatigue first loses. ( I like to play one warrior mirror match sometimes but all games with every class whould look like that.)
I'm not having a go at anyone. I presented a very reasonable and valid statement/opinion, and I mentioned that this is all based on what we know as of right now. It very well might change. There is no reason to be defensive, it is pretty clear that Blizzard has tried a couple times now to slow things down but it hasn't worked yet and I'm not entirely certain WoG will do it either. If you can't play your C'Thun and other heavy hitters, then they are slightly diminished as is the set with so much focus on them.
So far there have been barely any anti aggro cards.. so yeah I agree even if 2 key aggro cards get nerfed you still have other aggro tools, abusive sergeant might be also get the nerf bat so it also a thing but I still believe that even without those cards aggro is still aggro it spams the board with cheap minions and goes smorc and if you can't heal or taunt up (which seems harder now) you are dead.
I think aggro should stay relevant, midrange (or slower midrange) be the main thing of the game and control being viable.. but control vs control matchup take forever and they are also really expensive to craft so I hope midrange will be the type of tier 1 decks..
The current top 4 "fast midrange" decks are zoo, druid, patron and secret paladin I call them fast midrange cause they are too fast currently and have too much value with shredders, booms sea giants(zoo),whoamI's,or jsut a ridiculus burst combo(druid)

Thats why Knife Juggler, Leper Gnome and, probably, all charge minions will be nerfed.
Grommash Hellscream
I can wait no longer
As long as secret pally and druid get nerfed to the point of irrelevance, I'm fine if the meta is still relatively fast.

Scientist is really the only card I seem to miss most when deck building right now. The rest of the losses boost aggros viability.
Kezan, Shredder, and Dr. Balanced are it from GvG for me, and none of those are real aggro staples, so basically nothing.
