So how is 28 legendarys + 2 random cards not casual. Also how is a fine tuned zoo deck (many don't run leeroy and for good reasons) casual? If you want a split you can only do it by context I feel. it would require players to (no pun intended) play along. I would split it into casual and ranked-practice. I use casual a lot when trying to learn a deck to ladder with so I don't drop from being inexperienced with the deck. That's not casual but there is no place I can play ranked decks without it affecting my rank other than in casual.
Did you even read anything outside of the title? :/

Didn't need to. Read the title, voted no, it's a terrible idea, for all of the reasons that have been patiently explained every other time someone suggested this terrible idea. It's never going to happen. If you want to play for funsies with a limited deck, challenge a b.net friend.
Because players with Legendaries have a clear advantage over those that do not. You can play around them, but only to a certain extent and it's a fact that Legendary cards are flat out better than any of their Common/Rare/Epic equivalents.

So If I want to try my jank Millhouse/Cho hunter combos, I have to do that in Ranked Jr. instead of against the other Jank decks? Doesn't seem right. The point that Legendary>Epic>Rare>Common is hardly true. Savannah Highmane is better than Cairne Bloodhoof most of the time.
No most legendaries are pretty bad and require an extremely skilled player or are simply unplayable. While I understand that it can be frustrating to lose vs a deck with legendaries, playing against these decks helps you get better. If you only care about casual matches where you are guaranteed to play against cheaper decks, play in the practice mode. I'm pretty sure that bots don't use legendaries.

If Legenderies were exclusive to those who pay (I mean if you could BUY ONE CARD that can only be obtained this way and not buy a bunch of packs) I would totally agree with you. But they're not, so that's a bad idea that would only make the game less intuitive and make it even worse to find a match.
If you think you can't play this game properly without legenderies, go to arena and grind for it. I doesn't make ANY DIFFERENCE to make it to Legend this season or the next one or the next after the next one. Legendery Card Back won't change right now and the Season Card Back's can be obtained at Rank 20 (which is not hard to get at all).
A terrible idea. Legendaries don't guarantee a player a win. I could take Murkeye and Leeroy out of my Murloc deck and still win easily most of the time. I know this because that's what I did before I had those cards. I also love the jankyness of casual. You truly never have an idea what you're gonna face. People throw some weird ass deck combos out there. Variety is the spice of life.......at least in casual. So buckle up and dry those QQ's. It's a dog eat dog world in HS.

I can see where he is coming from, although I don't think a non-legendary play mode is quite the answer. After getting your hands dirty in Hearthstone, the matchmaking in Casual jumps up significantly, and seems to turn into a mode where ranked players try out new deck combinations. Without the fear of dropping rank because of trying something new. I actually stopped playing casual altogether, because the matches seemed more uneven than ranked. Now the issue is, there will always be folks out there who don't care much about how good they might be at the game, but still enjoy playing casually.......doing dailies, collecting cards, building goofy fun decks. But after a certain amount of time played, they will inevitably be matched against basically ranked players in casual. No good answer here , just know what he's sayin.
P.S. No one likes playing against bots. C'mon now.
The issue is not about paid cards, it's about experience.
So yes, ladded should be split, but it should be split in the way experienced players can stay out of the way of noobs.
So, maybe the ladder should have different ranks? And as you win, you could gain ranks, whilst if you lose, you would lose ranks? And it would match players up against players of the same rank, or at least a very similar rank to keep queue times manageable?
Sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it?

Casual - You can use any full (30 cards) deck that doesn't contain Legendary cards.
Normal - You can use any full (30 cards) deck.
Ranked - You can use any full (30 cards) deck.

Yeah sure! Two modes! Great idea!
Wait...
Why?

Thank you for adding nothing to the thread.

Then having epics makes you too overpowered for "No Legendaries"
and so on and so forth. You'll always be at a card disadvantage when you start.

We just had a big thread on this last week.
http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/12147-should-there-be-separate-ladders
Do we need another?
Poetic.
And then there will be complaints about Handlock, and another thread asking for Casual to be split into three modes.
Poetic.
Right? It seems the TS is QQing for a soulbound only mode............which would be even more boring than ranked meta.

I do. It makes me feel like I am advancing the cause of humans against the machines. ;)
You must've been the player I wrecked with my Leeroy/King Crush setup 3x back to back earlier today. Sorry, I like my ez gold :D
Voted NO!
ROFL I spit my food out - this made my day!
