I won't discover you anything new if I complaining about Blizz sales strategy but... the cardback is so SICK that I'm really piss off. I know that this is the trick BUT
I've been playing HS since a little bit early than the Naxxramas release. I've spend around 120€ (3 adventures + GvsG preorder) and I don't need to spend more since I have like 10.000 dust and 2000 gold.
I know that Blizz (and any company) trick is to trigger the need of buy stuffs but... 50€ preorder? Why not an option of, let's say, 10€ (cardback + 7 packages) to long time players?
Unfortunately, it is a case of 'the voice of one crying in the wilderness'. But I need to vent off a little.
Sorry for my english.
Edit: I'll make a pool in case anyone want to leave his opinion.
Honestly, I'm starting getting sick of all these comments. Forums shoulb be places where you can share knowledge or discuss strategies and grow together, but here the majority of threads are about complaints. People complaining about standard format, people complaining about GvG and Naxx not in the store anymore, people complaining about the price of hero portraits, of pre-order bundles, and so on... oh wait, also people complaining about people complaining (count me in on that).
Anyway, to get back to your complaint, I won't be so sure you don't need your pre-order cause your "wallet" will grant you JUST 20 packs and 6 legendaries... a nice start but not enough to start playing standard i guess...
And since I play so many hours of this game I don't mind at all giving 50 bucks to Blizzard. And i would do so again many more times since giving monay to the game helps it live and grow.
Dude I have over 5000 dust and 7000 gold and still bought the preorder. So I will be opening 100 packs, have thousands of gold for arena and yeah, I have that mega awesome cardback :D
actually you're right maybe there will be way less than 6 playable legendaries...
anyway I'm a collector so 20 packs + a bunch of legendaries is really nothing for me :) When TGT deployes i had like 9k+ gold and I unloaded a crazy amount of cash into the shop anyway, so...

I'm so weak... From today to the pre-order limit I'll fall in the "trap" for sure...
I couldn't care less about the card back because I only use the basic one. But I pre-ordered anyway. Ito of $ per pack it's not a bad deal and I would have bought another 50 if we were allowed to.
Should there be a cheaper option? I don't think so, not for pre-order. If you want to buy smaller amounts then wait until launch and buy however many packs you want to.
Also, why would they offer only long time players a special deal? Makes no sense.
If you want the card back then pre-order. Simple as.
I don't see the point of paying 50€ for a pixel aka card back that doesn't do anything.I still have enough gold and dust to have any card I want from the expansion so no.
I would rather Upgrade my PC or buy something else for the amount.Everyone has their opinion tho.
Except you're not paying 45€ for the cardback, you're paying 45€ for the cheapest card packs ever AND you get the card back as a bonus...
If you use amazon coins, it is crazy cheap. You get triple discounts, one when you buy the coins (e.g. Black Friday was 30% off), two because blizz are giving 50 rather than 40 packs, and three because blizz and amazon have a promo to give coins back (about 15%) after purchase.
I am UK and got the pre-order for coins that cost me £21 all-in, substantially less than the 45EUR list price. For US it would probably be even cheaper as the UK has a high VAT rate.
I had made up my mind a while ago not to pre-order the next set, but that card back is so sick I would be tempted to pay money just for it. I'm a huge Lovecraft nerd, so everything about this expansion has me a-tingle tho, so even with a less sick card back I might have ended up going against my resolutions anyway.
Eh I bought it cause it's exciting opening packs on release and the card back is really nice as well, and have about 4K gold saved up so by the time expansions releases then I might have enough to open another 50 more. Also to anyone that's looking to pre order for a bit cheaper, try Amazon coins. Buy 5000 coins for 41 bucks (used to be 40 bucks but they increased it a buck more) and after you buy the pre order then you will get back 500 coins which is like 5 bucks through their promotion. Anyway I'm excited for the new expansion.

Yes, using coins is the way to do it. I just bought coins and the preorder, 41.00 US total. Plus 15% back in coins toward more packs or the next adventure/expansion.
Not only do I get a sweet cardback but I get $20 off my first round of packs, of course I will buy it. In fact I've already bought it. Bought it minutes after it became available.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
I would like to have a smaller option, sure, but they're still offering a deal on the packs - a great deal - even ignoring the card back. Which you can't do, because it's watching you.
Lol so many take the ftp seriously. You can still get the expansion by gold or dust. You guys want blizzard to give everything to y'all. Anyway yeah I wish there was a cheaper option but I knew by know what to expect from the past expansions. If you want the card back so badly then save up for it :)
So I checked the option (b), because that is what I really think but holy mother of C'thun that card back is so tingling me to just pay up ...
Anyway, I think I will buy it, in a moment of weakness. I'd gladly give Blizz like 20€, cause I love the game, but 50 seems like quite a lot.

The way you buy game items is included on the whole knowledge of the game, don't you think?
If a lot of people are agreed on such things maybe we can change something.
I've 2000 gold, but the release it is within a month and a half, and, do you think there will be 6 playable legendaries? I don't know.
Thanks anyway for your response.
Personnally I think the preorder is a good deal.
