Silence is fine as it is, most decks only run one ironbeak owl right now. It may, remove fun effects from big cards, that is what it is meant to do. You always have more effects on your cards than your opponents have silences for, so it forces them to make a tactical decision on what to silence.
Well in my opinion silence does indeed ruin the fun for everyone it's what it's spouse to do. I've played TGT games for a long time and cards like silence are needed for those desperate times to stop your opponent from doing what they want to do, as so it's not a terrible idea but it's not good either.
I'm not sure that it should be temporary, but some way to remove it (or more likely to actually see play: to restore the original abilities of the card) would be nice.
I guess you could argue that Reincarnate is an example of that.
I think that having a new mechanic tht reverse silence would be better then making it a one turn thing. Most decks only have 1 or 2 cards with silence so it is not that big of a deal. When playing most card games you have to stop the other player from meeting their win condition and silence does that.
It shuts down those huge buffs like Velen's Chosen, Blessing of Kings, Blood Knight. If silence were temporary, big buffs would destroy us. If it can't remove those cheesy threats, the evil people win.
If you are upset about attacks getting through your taunt minions, either take control of the board yourself or USE HEALING. As hard as it is to believe, a deck with pure healing hard counters face decks.

There are such cards: The brewmasters Silence cards are tech cards, and necesary tech cards at that.
No... They are return to hand effects, that's why the cards say return to hand. That comes with its own benefits and risks, such as triggering secrets or another card when replayed. An 'unsilence' wouldn't "heal" the minion, or trigger any comes into play affects, or battlecries.
Well o the new deck recipes, on decks that usually run owl they are not running one copy of it, so i think that owl is really getting nerfed and getting a different effect and maybe only neutral silence effect left is spellbreaker so its kind ok i believe
I remember reading in some interview that the devs wheren't exactly pleased with the mechanic. Anyone could notice that since day one of Hearthstone's release to this point no new cards with silence (except the very conditional ones) were added. That could hint at the mecanics power and balance.
Silence is fine because it's mostly dead. No one plays "silence" the priest card, spellbreaker barely sees any action outside of the arena ( but he's good at it), mass dispell isn't played, the situationals one aren't played...
I don't have much to say about keeper of the grove because the state of druid rn is so infuriating I can't decide how big a part of the problem he is...
Wich leave us with ironbeak owl. Silence is "fine". The owl isn't. I'm not really into animal cruelty but if there was ever a beast to deserve a good swing of the nerf bat, ironbeak owl is the one.
Well u said it all, silence is not a problem
i Think the only 2 cards that are a problem is Keeper and Owl, besides that i would be kind ok when i get silenced by a spell breaker, if those cards get nerfed it would be totally fair and ok
I would say sense should last till 2 turns ,1 turn would be too less for an excellent mechanic which I is one of the aspects that makes the game fun to play and not so easy win or defeat

Put some brewmasters in your deck, OP.

Silence does more good than evil.

+1 for the 'silence is fine' camp.

Silence is good because there should be some risk involved in playing minions with powerful deathrattles or ongoing effects.
No deck or strategy should be immune from disruption.
