I think it would be something else if it wasnt literally every blizzard game, but it really seems like streamers control this game more than i wish. We dont know anything about whats happening next month, such as when etc etc. But the streamers do, and its like theres 2 players. theres THEM(the streamers) and US(the non streamers). I am all for Blizzard giving people who make a living from the game opportunities that cant be given to everybody, but I really dont think they should have information that is withheld to others regarding cards.
maybe its just me, but I do think blizzard could handle their playerbase both hearthstone and non-heartstone a bit better.
Without the streamers, there wouldn't be a Ranked Wild ladder. It would have only been Ranked Standard and Wild Casual. Blizzard knows that a good portion of the community looks up to the professional players, so if the streamer community can help the rest of us Angry Chickens learn the in's and out's of the new format, they know that a following will continue and develop.

Wants to play Captain Cookie Druid because why not?
Are you talking about the fact that they invited some pros to discuss with them about formats, rotations etc?
Maybe? The streamers know when standard and the new expansion are coming. They also know what the general theme of the new expansion is. I havnt come up across anything that shows they would actually know the whole set, though.
I don't think it is necessarily streamers, I think it is high level tournament players (a lot of which just happen to be streamers). Personally I think it is great that Blizzard is consulting them to see which direction the game should go and I wish other games would do the same. The decisions won't always be the ones the normal players like, but I think in general they will be better decisions overall than just Blizzard making unilateral decisions without their input. While I think their input is good, I wouldn't suggest listening too much to the community as a whole because the community itself basically can never agree on anything, and the players who understand the game better are likely to give much better input into where the future of the game should go.
Well, I suppose they wanted feedback from people they know play and understand the game a lot, and those who stream all the time leave plenty of evidence of that. How exactly would they identify non-streamers who fit that description?
Note that it's different groups of people who handle each game. Team 5 seems to be moving towards more interaction between the players while the SC2 team doesn't so much. A think a lot of it is the time period each franchise grew up in. SC1 grew up before Web 2.0 so it was a lot more of them making hte product and us just playing it. There wasn't even a thought of an e-sports scene then . Hearthstone grew up right in the middle of Web 2.0 so it's much easier for them to get a clear, clean view of player comments.
As far as why streamers and not, say, forums like this one. Well, just LOOK at the difference between, say, reading a day of these posts and, say, listening to a day of Kripp's streams. And these are miles better than the official forums.
As far as information.. I think the discussions they have been having with the general community show, to be blunt, that we, as a large group, are very BAD at handling information that isn't very VERY carefully controlled. We take so much pride on being a big pack of rude, trolly anonymous sludge of an internet. Well, the result is that people who have to deal with us have to be very VERY particular about what they do. Blizzard used to be able to declare expansions and games years before they were ready, and we'd just get more hyped over it, even if the content is radically different than the original or if the release date is years off. Now if anything ANYTHING is off, if ONE word catches us the wrong way, we go nuts. Just look at the fuss over the 'lack of hype' of the expansion, that wasn't even announced, just because it was mentioned once in an announcement for something else.
Well, we all are one big mess of a troll, and smart companies have learned to never EVER feed a troll. We're just lucky that Team 5 learned that we only get trollish when we get into groups. Thus they grab well exposed individuals and work with them and leave us alone.
As for the rest of us, we'll just keep going and complaining, which is what we'll do no matter how much or how little information they give us.
(belated warning: rather blunt and harsh post. Listening to the audio vocals of Glados' in Portal 2 has had an effect on me I think)

If blizz is taking tips from streamers I think that's great. If only blizz listened to streamers about sc2....
People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
