I am not saying what WILL change the cards, as new cards will be released and things will be changed over all, it's what might possibly change them, as I also mentioned in the text. I mentioned a lot of times that the effects of these legendary cards are quite unique and that there aren't that many cards that would be able to replace them completely and utterly. Also, this was no crafting guide, idk where did you get that from, just a small insight on what kind of changes this brings to the current meta and which decks will be affected by it.
Also, this is only the first part of a 7-part series that will cover 35 cards. There is still more to come.

Why do you laugh? The time when Vol'jin was used by all of the professional HS players was the time of the handlocks when priests just couldn't find enough removals for strong minions, even with two Lightbombs and Shadow Word: Deaths. I am not sure at which rank you play, but in the legend ranks there are loads of zoolocks running either one or even two Sea Giants.
Vol'jin was only included in Dragon Priest that runs -kappa-.
Read a bit, I never said they saw "more play" but they were in the meta and shifted to make more decks. Again, KT was never competitive -too slow- and Mal'Ganis was interesting in either handlock or demonlock (not the strange name you give them).
But yeah, surely Stormwind Champion will shake the meta. Maybe Wisp will be the next big offender.
I think people are failing to see the point here regarding Stormwind Champion. Will Dr. Boom be replaced all the time with Stormwind Champion? Haha, no. That's never going to be the case. That's also never what Sigma said and makes you look like a forum troll if you can't read past the card name.
A very specific scenario was used for Stormwind Champion, and that was in a Budget Zoolock deck. I don't know about you guys but the last time I checked, basic cards can be pretty awesome for people on a budget and for an aggressive deck a Stormwind Champion could certainly help them out late-game in some scenarios.
By all means, give Sigma criticism, but keep it constructive. We've had to remove a few toxic replies to this thread and will continue to do so if people can't give constructive criticism. If people really don't want to see this type of content in the future, we'll come up with some other plans but if you're just going to leave non-constructive posts, they're going to be ignored.
TL;DR: Keep it constructive, don't be an ass just for the sake of being an ass. Help improve content instead of chasing it away.
is it allowed to have the impression sigma and the heartpwn staff are so busy running the website (and moderating critics) that you never play hearthstone at all?
even the first zoodeck in the beta stages of the game would never run stormwind champion, let alone in the upcoming meta. defending this idea only determines my impression..
exept budget means you just opened your first pack, but in this case you wouldnt run boom anyway.
being constructive with this evaluation would scrap it and write another one.

That is absolutely not true. Both Kolento and Zetalot, both known priest players, played Vol'jin in their control priests, and even Reynad was using him on occasions. It doesn't seem to me like you are aware of these things. Also, Mal'Ganis, besides a handlock and a midrange zoo (what you refer to as demonlock) was also used in a DEMON RENO, which is a Renolock with demons instead of the Stalagg&Feugen combo, which you can find in my decks which was played on some of the biggest tournaments out there (I can't take credit for that as it's obvious that some professional players had the same thinking process when it comes to deck building as I), and DEMONHAND, which is a handlock also with the demon pack, the demon pack being 2xVoidcallers, 1 or 2 Doomguards and Mal'Ganis (Demon reno had some more demons like Imp Gang Boss to replace the second copy of a card).
For your information, Stormwind Champion was used successfully in budget zoos before, just as Frostwolf Warlord, and as we are losing a lot of cards, and as Stormwind Champion has the potential of giving a buff which can be compared to the one of Mal'Ganis, giving a smaller buff but affecting all minions, I don't see why people shouldn't try him out. And regarding Wisp, yeah why not?? Do you know which cards will be released? As Wisp was actually used in Hobgoblin decks, if they release a card that buffs 1 attack minions just like Hobgoblin did, why the hell not?
Sigma proves, officially, that he is an idiot. "Replace X with Sylvanas"...news flash, genius. Most decks running these cards are already running Sylvanas. You can't replace a card with something that's already a main deck staple for most playstyles. Try a little more creativity.
I'm going to miss so much, I still don't understand why this change has to be so drastic? Is it because the game is getting too unbalanced? Can't we have a normal mode where anything goes & doesn't count for ranked at all? Rest in Piece Dr. Boom :'(
Wild casual?
Standard hardcore?
I assume your making a joke but I was being serious. Dr. Boom will still be usable in wild and it's my understanding that it will still have both casual and ranked modes. So wild casual is exactly what Bunny2086 is asking for.

Yeah but what's the point to play Standard if you already have had most HS cards? Standard will be introduced for beginners, so i can't understand why most people worry about it?
Because, even though it is, in every way, "newbie protection mode", they didn't call it "newbie protection mode", they called it "standard". Names are important. Just give it a bit of time, as soon as the first cards of the new expansion are announced, the goldfish brain of the community will switch to "ooh shiny" mode and the whole discussion will be over.

In any case, thank you for your comments!
If we are going to budget decks, your arguments are totally invalidated. Which budget deck will choose to spend 1600 dust in a legendary, since the whole deck costs less than 600-900 dust. So, come on...you can give better arguments regarding Stormwind Champion-Forstwolf Warlord and Wisp+Hobgoblin.
In any case, only Dr. Boom will be missed and has no replacement: no card has the potential to do 15 damage when played and RNGesus is in your favor. Also, assuming Sylvannas can replace Boom; not even close. They mechanichs, power creeps and way to play around them are completely different.
Also, and this is my final statement, if you think that going legend is an "achievement" and makes you more "qualified" to give an opinion than level 20 players...come on!! Some of us like Arena, have been legend and we love grinding (or coaching) low level players. Legend is nothing in this game.
Looking foeward for the epic cards we will miss, maybe Mini-Mage or Junkbot will be missed? What about Wee Spellsometing? And the game changer weapon for rogues?
Great writeup! I think Boom was a "little" OP, but more because of the curve/mana-cost. Remember, he was the neutral 7 that everybody was pining for. Although I did craft him on all three of my accounts, for some reason I feel like he can be replaced. Ideally by another 7, but even with other cards as you mentioned.
And we will have a new expansion coming out, so I'm sure that neutral 7-slot will be filled by something.
Instead of flaming, try to comprehend the overall trends and thoughts of the article... it's not about "replace card x with card y after the expansion".
Thanks to the OP, looking forward to the rest of the series. Don't let the children dissuade you here!
Wow so Priests and Warlocks are losing a class legendary. I wonder if there will be a decent replacement for that card, Priest-wise. I'd have loved to see Jaraxus bite the dust. Incredibly OP.

Anubisath Sentinel will replace Vol'Jin in Control Priest... well guys, you read it here first (and last, I guess)
Seriously, shameless self-promotion but I think I made a better analysis 3 weeks ago already. http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-deck-building/103492-lets-calm-down-and-analyze-which-decks-will-lose

7 part series eh? At this rate you'll be finished up sometime after the next Adventure.
