For the past few months, I been losing interest in the game. It feels like just mining daily gold.
The play mode seems boring and that the new standard play only makes it more interesting for new players and not really for old players. There is not much addition for us in truth.
Every match-up is like versus a few of the standard overpowered decks like secret paladin.
The only good thing is the tarvan brawl but it is also random. Some of them are real boring.
For the past two months I've been playing on and off, but I'm actually super excited to put serious effort back into laddering when standard is released. I certainly don't think standard is only good for new players. New decks will spring up as old ones become unplayable, and other decks will be tweaked, making the game feel much more refreshing.
I like to have more card choices, that is why older players collect or craft cards.
The idea is that standard has a more limited pool of selection => few decks.
The current has so many cards but only a few are used because of overpowered decks like secret.
For example, instead of 2-3 suitable decks per class, most likely it will be just 1 good deck per class in new standard.
Most likely, most old players will still play with wild. But blizzard will not place much focus on it, hence there will be more cases like 'secret'.
What they have done is just to get more new players in.
For old players, nothing interesting is happening. They just did not state obviously(you can still play 'wild' etc). There should get ideas from the fun bawl games.
How about a good co-op adventure? co-op vs AI was fun. Team matches? Cup Tournament mode for the general? Introduce 'level up' cards mode, introduce new elements of the game(RPG style), experience level up?
I started losing interest a few months back too, right before LoE came out. But that was also when I'd play a lot to reach at least rank 5 each season. Nowadays I play purely for fun, usually ending up around rank 7 or 8 at the end of season.
Seriously, just try building some fun decks and having a good experimental time!
Plus Standard will seriously breathe some new life into the game.

Anyone have the same feeling?
How does the new standard format not remedy the exact problem you mention in your post?

I'm just waiting for the next expansion release, need to get my hands on some new cards.
Just take a break. That's what I did and after a few months I got back in the game and been enjoying it ever since.
Switching between Hearthstone, Duelyst and XCOM 2. I'm gonna wait and see new cards in the next expansion.
