In some weeks with the standard mode we won't be able to buy GvG packs neither use cards from the set to the new mode. Does it worth to buy GvG packs just to manage to get most of the collection till standard mode release as you may use them on the Wild mode? I have most of the cards from the GvG collection except legendaries and some epic cards that are "useless" in current meta.
I feel this shouldn't be a question. If you already have Dr. Boom, then there is no need to get GvG packs as they will be worthless in Standard mode when it is released. If you are planning on playing some Wild mode when it's released, then go for it if you want. If you don't have all of the Classic and TGT cards, then I would recommend getting one of those packs.
I have almost everything from the Classic collection but almost nothing from TGT. I was thinking that i will keep playing on wild mode even after the release but imo the cards that i am missing from GvG have no chance to be in a meta game. Except of having all the GvG cards from my own collection i don't see any reason to keep spending gold on those packs so yea i will start buying TGT :)
Should you play only cheesy (standard) mode, then no, you should save your money for the next xpack. If you want to play Wild Mode, you should buy packs at least until you have all common and rares. They are compared to epic and legendary cheap, but still in the next xpack you can only create them, and this is going to be very expensive to create the common and rares.
While naturally it is good to have all epics and legendaries, to get them is too rare to reliable buy packs because of them. So if you want a specific legendary, buying packs because of it is not very reliable. Better buy packs where you still lack common and rares and then craft them with dust.
If it's to compete, you do realize that most of the GvG deck is NOT played competitively, right? As such, you don't even need all of the commons and rares. Jeesh, the top decks only use a few of them. Also it's NEVER a good idea to open packs in order to try to get epics/legendaries. It's better to craft those.
Thus if you are just trying to be competitive, I'd focus more on looking to see what cards you actually NEED rather than what % of the collection you don't have. There's an entire expansion that you need to get very soon which will be MUCH more useful for Standard and will probably still be useful for Wild.
So for competitive reasons, don't buy GvG packs. Focus on getting the few cards in the set you actually need to get and aim your gold/cash on the upcoming expansion instead.
For collection purposes.. Velerios got it sealed. Packs until commons/rares are mostly filled out. Dust for epics/legendaries. And hurry. If you are a collector I'd deem this your last chance to do so with any real hope. Again, you just need the commons/rares as you should be crafting epics/legendaries anyway adn can do tat easily while buying new expansion packs and running arena. You don't need GvG packs for epic/legendary collection. But if you don't have the commons/rares when Standard hits then your collection goals are pretty much dead.
So what are you, a competer or a collector. Choose, NOW.
Thanks for the replies guys. Actually i am already competitive because i have most of every card that is playing right now and to be honest i don't really need anything except 2-3 epics and one or two legendaries. My first idea was to just try and collect the most of GvG due to we won't be able to buy those packs after the release but just for my own collection and after the standard mode to get the TGT collection that i'm missing. I didn't thought that there will be a new expansion tho so maybe is a better idea to keep my gold for the next one?
Correct me if i'm wrong but Blizzard said we will be able to dust GvG cards for full value after the arrival of formats right ?
In this case wouldn't it be the best time to buy GvG packs ? Cause any rare/epic/legendary you get can be dust to craft something that you actually need for the same dust !
I correct you. you are wrong

Even if you are collecting sets, buying GvG packs is probably a waste for you. As you own more of a set, the more likely you will pull cards that you already own. For example, if you have half the Legendaries, if you get a legendary, there's a 50% chance it will be one you own. As the percentage goes up, the more that will just end up as excess dust.
So if you try to complete the new set, you will end up with a lot of excess dust. You can use that dust to finish GvG, and lower the odds of hitting cards that you own as you buy packs. (Plowing dust into the new set will increase the odds of repeats as you buy more packs.)
That said, I would only concentrate on cards you need for decks, not to collect. If you want to look at the card, you can look at it in the crafting screen for free.

No. Why would you waste precious gold (or even real life money) on a mode that's gonna stay largely unbalanced, unsupported or seriously played in a few months?
Spend it on the next espansion, at least that one will last a few years before going down the dumpster.

Correct. Blizzard has said that every shuffle of the format (that is when old content drops off) will sync with the first new content of the year. Thus this first one will arrive along with the new expansion.
Thus yes, even if you are a collector, your focus should be on teh new expansion. You can use any dust you get from those packs to craft the cards you need from GvG.
Honestly, the ONLY people who have any reason to buy gvG packs are Collectors that haven't yet gotten much of a GvG collection. And really if you are THAT behind then it's probably too late to bother trying for a full library collection in the first place.
Yes, collectors that have only been playing for a month, just give up now. Don't even bother trying. It's not like you can make an effort to open a pack a day with gold, and maybe take advantage of the Amazon Coin promo going on RIGHT now if you want to spend a few real dollars for something you know you're super into and you've played every single other TCG on Google Play because you were so mad that GvG is being removed from the store, but you came back because Hearthstone is still the best one out there, retarded, nonsensical business practices aside. There is no reason to expect you can go from zero to 60% of GVG in the span of four days due to desire to have them all. Just back down. Can't be done. No way in hell can you do it.

Btw.. It takes about 50 packs to complete the rares/commons of GvG. You'll also guaranteed to get at least 5 epics and a legendary along the way. After that, you're best off focusing on crafting the remaining cards using dust from new expansion pack openings and arena runs.
I think it worths. Let's be realistic: Even though all classic cards will remain in Standard forever, it does not mean every card in the set is good enough to be competitive. If one already has a decent collection of competitive cards, most of the cards collected beyond would only have a purpose of occasional fun or collection, which does not matter which set the card comes from. Therefore buying GvG packs before they become not available worths it. Besides, you can still get dust when you get duplicates from pack, so it will never be a complete waste.
There is no better time than now to buy GvG packs. I already bought 100 packs and am planning to buy another 50, that should give me all the GvG cards.
Those cards will no longer be available for purchase after the new expansion. That means they will be rarer and due to that, their value will increase.

What value? This is no physical card game, you can't sell "old, rare cards" here. Once the cards are locked out the "real" playing mode they're less than useless.

I agree there is no real value for those cards after the release neither their dust will be in full refund.

BIG question before you follow Velerios' advice:
Are you playing to collect or playing to compete?

Don't waste your money/gold. GVG will be dead in a month or so when the new expansion hits and formats are introduced.

I purchase only GvG packs after Blizzard anounsement
I'm not a big collector (GvG: 86/123), but well, I'd like to have as much as possible till purchasing will not be allowed
