What he hell? You believe in this? This are the same persons who said "We never imagined Mysterious Challenger to have such an impact"
Conspiracy or what? They made MC, so that everyone had to buy the last WIng of Naxx to play the Strongest Deck and now they are rotating it out with every other strong Card from this Deck and damn it everyone believes them. How is that possible?!
What the hell is wrong with you?!
Are you implying that Secret paladin is OP? And if you think it is, have you any proof behind this? Since the winrates im seeing on metasnapshot, hearthstats point it out as beeing good but not OP.
Propably again one of those who dont know whats OP and whats just a good Tier1 Deck.
Gtfo, Secret Paladin was the only deck a BOT could hit +50% winrate with. That indicates that some cards may be a little bit too powerful
Gtfo? Sounds more like your just salty towards Secret Paladin. And where did a bot do 50% winrate with secret paladin? link plz. Otherwise i call bullshit on your comment.
1. Off author doesnt give any proove at all about this so this might aswell be troll
2. But even if this is true, there were botting times with crusher shamans going easily to legend with way higher winrate and that shaman deck wasnt OP not even considered Tier1.
3. So if Secret paladin bots have actualy problems reaching legend, this basically prooves that the deck is not OP or at verry least is no valid argument in claiming SP as beeing OP.
4. MC beeing OP is a completely different thing than claiming Secret paladin beeing OP. Just because 1 card is basically undercosted and OP deosnt mean the deck build around is after conclusion. Especialy in secret paladin because MC beeing OP comes with a cost to play pretty bad secrets in your deck. Its basically a good way of game balance, to make some bad cards playable through building synergie with a better card. Aslong as the resulting deck has no overpowered winratio thats pretty well balanced imo.
So I still invite you to prove me that secret paladin has a broken winratio over Tempo Mage, Midrange Druid or Zoo.
The fact is, paying customers are upset and most likely won't pay again. PAYING customers are as important or maybe even more important than f2pcustomers. We are maybe les's in numbers but certainly invest a lot more.

You know why those winrates of secret paladins are lower than your crusher shaman? Because crusher shaman didnt have to play 50% of the volume vs themselves.
These days secret paladins on bots play other bots with secrets paladins and make the general winrate go down. I bet if you discount those games against paladin class the winrate will skyrocket. And every single other class having sub45% winrate proves it even more that other classes can't even compare with secret paladins

Funny i think paying customers will keep paying. Especially after couple months or so that the whole "i want my money/dust bk" childish behavior subsides and the issue is forgotten.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I am pissed each time a new version of a video game is out because my now older version don't have the new shining features and I can't play with the ones playing the latest version.
More seriously, card rotation is part of card games life cycle for decades now, and with material ones, you can't even have powerful cards without paying.
Whales will continue to invest in HS at least to keep having the most useful cards as quick as possible. And the ones that just buy some packs at the start of an extension, it won't change their life.
Ask yourself this question : Do you still use some of the cards you spent money for 2 years ago ?
Its the same like you wanna buy a PS1. You pay 50$ more for the slim one, because it looks much better but does the same overall. So 3 years later there is the PS2 and PS1 is gettin worthless. Should Sony give you back your money? OFC not.
What kind of stupid example is this? This is a spot-on comparison!PS2Standard format getting out doesn't stop you from using your PS1Wild format to play all the gamescards you've bought, or to sell them all to recoup some money backdust them for normal value like any other card.NoneAll of this can be done with HS where everything is digital, impossible to sellwhere you were never able to sell cards for cash (even before this announcement), and now worthless for the cared for format all the cards will still be perfectly usable from now until the end of time.
Fixed that for you.
Thank you for clarifying, i really dont get why he thinks my example is stupid, at least some people understand it ^^
It's still a stupid example to be honest. The cards may stay the same, yes, but the environment in which they're played does not. Apparently FortyDust is unable to grasp the concept that if a card only becomes usable in an non-supported, "casual" forgotten format then the fact that they're unchanged is largely irrelevant since the gaming experience in which they're used is different (worse) regardless.
Ps2 coming out doesn't stop you from using your Ps1 the same exact way you always used it. Standard does, forcing us to use the same cards in a no-rules, unbalanced and second rate format unlike the one we're playing now (which will become the new Standard).
And yet Blizzard has gone on record that they'll be keeping Wild balanced, just like Standard, so how exactly is it a "forgotten" format?
False. What Blizzard actually said is that all balance changes to Wild will be "reactive", meaning that they won't put any thought into it beforehand and just "wait and see what happens". Only if something absurd like 2turn OTK comes out they'll do something about it, otherwise they'll ignore it altogether.
"Keeping Wild balanced just like Standard" is a lie you're making up on the spot here.

I think we should go back to the subject: How blizard made a move that is a scam for old players, specially paid players like us who paid for a product which is going to be completely changed. It is not a product we will not use:
-for the most important game mode, the ranked mode that we play today (which will be called 'standard') The name of the mode doesn't matter. -for tournament scene (standard) That ESPECIALLY doesn't matter. You are almost expected to shell out money consistently if you intend on competing in any game that pumps out product consistently. -For the gamemode with the majority of online players (standard) As long as there's someone to play against, this doesn't matter. -For the gamemode that shows your rank publicly (standard) Is ego hurt because you get a R25 plaque instead of a R5 plaque? Either way, this doesn't matter. -For the gamemode where there will be emphasis in balance (standard) That doesn't matter at all. You bought the cards. You don't get to decide to have cold feet now.

I think he is being sarcastic when he is writing "I don't care" On so many aspect of the game which are important. He is over-simplifying the issue and probably is making some really stupid joke. I hope that he is being sarcastic at least.

This person should be a socialist. Socialist tell people what's better for them, even when they explicitly state otherwise. People like him should go to countries like cuba, north corea and venezuela and serve the warlords/druglords there, they are in dire need of true-to-idealism partners :). Everyone needs to do what they believe in
Well you are in the minority so deal with it. The pro scene is happy with the change, people that have experience with other TCGs are happy about the change. And even people that haven't played other card games before are mostly happy about the change. You belong to a small sad minority that just likes to whine.
Oh my, am I really seeing it? The good old "appeal to majority"?
What's next, the Strawman?

Most of the pro scene has been asking for formats or a ban list for over a year. people here on hearthpwn have been making threads for months now how blizzard should introduce formats or a ban list. I personally also created such a thread probably over 8 months ago. This is not something blizzard just did and everyone accepted, this has been asked of them in the past quite often.
Hey but did you read the intelligent posts around here? The cycle out /format rotation is understood and needed. But there are too many other decisions that are meant to harm us, look at the list I posted there. Just plain and simple.. why not add wild to tournaments as a minor competition:? why not show wild rank at least equal to standard rank? why take old expansions from the shop? Why not balance Gvg and Naxx cards NOW ? or, why only balance NOW standard (they annouced classic+basic set changes only)
I think it is very obvious what is going on
There will be wild tournaments however the big one which is the world championship is going to be in standard so unless you are one of he pros this shouldn't affect you. Pros actually want the new format to take place as soon as possible. And the reason why you don't balance such old content is because once you start doing you can never stop people who will play wild will always keep nagging that certain cards in the wild are too strong. Team 5 wants to create new cards and new features not just keep balancing the old stuff.
They never did balance much and even the most absurdly op decks or combos took ages to see a nerf, so that really doesn't mean much. You make it sound like they're all SOOOO tired of constantly nerfing and balancing when they've barely been doing shit all this time.

Quote from ponk87>>probably because nerfing cards a month after they are out is absurd.
The Buzzard+Unleash combo remained up for monthts. Same for undertaker hunter, despite everyone and their aunts admitting of bullshittingly OP it was. Even Blizzard admitted that was a mistake. Not gonna change their attitude though.

They waited too long on Undertaker. Each other situation was perfectly reasonable to give the player a chance to fix it themselves, as we have done with many previous "broken" cards and decks.
Just cause one likes the idea of formats doesn't mean blizzards execution of this big change needs be supported 100%.
Old sets not being sellable, saying wild will only be balanced if turn 2 otks become a thing, saying standard is the official mode. That shows that wild is an afterthought to them, a small concession to those who grinded or paid for naxx or gvg cards.

I can only imagine you weren't playing at the time, as there's nothing players could "do" against the Buzzard+Unleash combo hunters. Literally nothing.

Kind of like there's literally nothing you can do about Standard format.
Time to quit Hearthstone or accept the change. Those are your options. Please pick one.

OMG. So everyone should accept everything thats coming upon him? Thats a dumb way to live your life... sry. Accept or Leave, no I rather fight and question the things that bother me.
Of course there is nothing we can do. But at least we can point out, that what they are doing is wrong. There are plenty of things happening, that are wrong, but no one can do something about them. At least we have the freedom to point out, that WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS WRONG!
And you never know. Maybe a Dev reads it and considers it.Saying nothing would be absurd. The lengthiness of this thread shows that the topic matters.
