The Hearthstone team will also use the deck rotation each year as an opportunity to review and tweak cards from the Basic and Classic sets, which will remain part of standard format forever.
"We have a list of cards that we're looking at," Brode said. "This will be the biggest balance change that we've ever made to Hearthstone. It's not going to be a massive percentage of the set or anything like that. We have to hit a lot of cards, though. It's definitely going to be significantly less than 20 cards. It's not going to be even close to that number. It'll be more than two. We're still trying to get that final list and still tweaking things."
Brode pointed to classes like the druid as a key example of what the team hopes to change.
"Some classes have too many cards that are just too high power level," he said. "It makes it very hard to make new cards for classes like druid, because they have so many really good cards in Basic and Classic. We have to do some nerfs to make sure we can still see a different druid deck as a new set comes out."
Rest in pieces Force of Nature + Savage Roar, you won't be missed. I wonder which other cards get tweaked. I bet one or two Warlock cards get actually buffed, because it only has like 2 playable class minions in both sets combined.
I don't see a link. I understand why it would be a problem (except it has never been so far, even with cards like kel'thuzad and troggzor), that doesn't mean it's going to get nerfed. Also what is this "3 of the 20 possible cards" you're talking about ?
Read the OP for the 20 card number.
And yes, Mistress of Disguise poses a design problem. I can see her being altered, just like Warsong Commander was a huge design problem that had to be considered for every card ever introduced into the game with Warrior having access to, even tho the card itself wasn't all that strong. Imagine they do something like Mal Ganis and Rogue can play that. That's what he means by "strong effects". PERMANENT stealth is just too strong on certain cards.
1 - Please RIP FoN +SR. I hope savarge roar becomes a beast synergy thing and FoN becomes a spell like feral spirit. Perhaps 3 2/2 taunt trents.
2 - Make him a 2/2 like he deserves to be or make it when you play a minion card with the same stats.
3 - While it synergizes with Al'akir and is a cool card. I'd rather they swap Charged Hammer to be a classic set epic weapon (It's sooo cool and unique) as it replaces the crappy RNG hero power for shaman as a permanent staple and Doom hammer will only remain for as long as TGT is around. Much more balanced as a weapon too.
4 - Either replace him with Bolvar imo so he rotates out, or make ash bringer a 5/2 so you only get 10 free damage or 3 for once instead of 4 for 1ing or 15 free damaging
5 - Highmane will be the last of the eternal annoying deathrattles save harvest golem and Carine. I'd say make it a 5/5 perhaps or make the hyenas 1/2's so when you pop the thing you reduce the damage by a lot.
6 - As much as I wish this card was just deleted out right. Draw a card base ability - if you have less cards draw 3 cards. Less polarizing and punishing for full control decks and makes the card not a dud in a lot of match ups. (paladins will be needing some power when they lose their avenge, minibot, muster, cog hammer, quater master and boom)
True. Egg druid uses the combo to kill, fast and dirty, sometimes in turn 4 or 5, and saying it uses the combo is actually a bit misleading because the deck does not run force of nature at all. Its just savage roar.
Stuff like haunted creper, echoing ooze and the eggs can be just as threatening as force of nature, with one key difference: They are faster.
Design wise, I can assume Blizzard might be looking at:
Savage Roar (It's actually the problem card of the combo, also they won't have to give people full Epic Dust refunds this way)
Master of DIsguise (Prevents any card like Animated Armor / Malganis from being Neutral
Archmage Antonitas (Limits design space of cheap mage spells, similar to Gadgetzan Auctioneer of the past. On a lesser scale, maybe they look at Gadgetzan again, and perhaps even consider Sorcerer's Apprentice for these reasons)
Charge (Limits what type of minions warrior can get their hands on. Things like Gorehowl + Alex/Charge of the past for example)
Tundra Rhino (Same situation as Charge/Warsong. I mean, look at all of the silly things you can do in those Discounted Tavern brawls thanks to this card)
Alexstrasza (Always have enabled quite uninteractive decks where you Pyroblast or Grom+Task to 2-Turn kill with the help of her. Besides, Blizzard is definitely doing something to nerf Freeze Mage, so it's either the freeze cards, Ice Block, or Alex)
Big Game Hunter (Makes 7+ Attack minions require an immediate board effect, or it'll go completely ignored)
Although it doesn't quite limit much design space, I wouldn't be surprised if Knife Juggler gets hit by the nerf bat because of all of the havoc and tournament defeats he has caused all by himself.

Maybe they will be removing Overload from the Shaman cards going forward?

I wish devs buff a lot of shitty cards, mainly priest's cards, but if they only nerf this is my prediction:
1-Savage Roar or Force of Nature
2-Knife Juggler
3-Doomhammer
4-Tirion Fordring
5-Savannah Highmane
6-Divine Favor
VS
I really hope they nerf Savage Roar, not Force of Nature. That card really isn't the problem.
nerfing yearly is fked up
