Clearly Blizz is pushing the Standard format as the serious, competitive format, but a lot of us have invested in collecting some awesome cards from past expansions. So even though Blizz is pushing Standard, I wonder which format will be the most popular.
I guess, i end up playing the Format where it is the easiest for me to climb. But so far i think i will Play wild, since i have all Cards and i always thought that once you have a really big Card pool you will have more decks and more diversification.
I will play wild, but if there will not be players there (it is possible due to ladder splits in 4 parts 2 Casuals and 2 Ranked) i will go Standart. I like wild more because i like to have all cards for deckbuilding
Ill likely play Standard, ive been branching out and trying to build my own decks to compete, as time goes on seems like it will be easier for newbie deck builders like myself to build something viable in Standard. This also pretty much confirms at least 3 expansions a year right?
I'll probably start with Wild since it's what I'm more familiar with, plus I have Naxx and plenty of GvG cards. Will probably try out Standard for fun though, if only to see how different the meta is.
I'm a bit confused why some people are complaining about Standard. More options are good. If you don't like Standard, just play Wild. There are millions of players who will be doing both.
Another thing I noticed. They say they are reevaluating basic and classic cards. Will that mean they'll finally fix some cards like Windfury Harpy and Knife Juggler (fix in one way or another)?
Standard atm seems much more interesting. No more belcher, chow, boom, scientist, shredder, etc. 2 of the most overpowered cards in the game gone and finally a reason to take a look at a lot of the other interesting 4 drops in the game. All mid-range decks are getting a little weaker with three of the most played cards gone and secret pally takes an absolute beating losing muster, mini-bot, avenge, and all those neutrals that made it's job so easy. Sadly with loss of so many problematic cards also brings an end to my favorite archetype at the moment: control priest. Cards like Deathlord, Dark Cultist, Velen's Chosen, Zombie Chow, Shrinkmeister and Auchenai are all being rotated out, so priest will struggle a bit from here on out. Dragon Priest still seems pretty solid even though it'll have to change up it's list. Dragon pally may be able to shine in the new format and I know for a fact Murloc pally will still be decent. All in all, standard is really going to shake things up and I can't even imagine what the game will look like which seems really fun to me.

Actually I think this announcement was premature. They should have announced the fixes with the formats. That said, it's kind of impossible for players to anticipate what Standard will be like anyway. We've never seen a world with Basic, Classic, and only the recent expansions. I'm sure there will be some recent expansion cards that will become much stronger in a world without GvG and Naxx.
I have put a good amount of money into this game, and I don't want to be limited. Wild will be my main format, but I will play Standard for fun as well.

What will you play (and why)?

Don't know, but this thing looks interesting. I might give a shot to both and see what happens.

They're doubling our deck slots, so it seems to me now I've got one slot in each class for Wild, and one for Standard. I'll play both.

Wish you had added a both option to the choices. Because I plan to play both depending on which is more fun at any given moment.
Why am I sticky?
Will play Standard since the tournaments will be only Standard decks for this year.

OP: you need a "both" option which would be my choice

And I can't say, I'll have to see what the next set looks like.

Fascinating that with 68 votes we're at 50/50.
