how do any of you keep sane when you reach rank 1. Every game I feel so much pressure during rank 1 because if you lose you effed up and are going back to rank 2 and more and more pressure just builds up.
If you have the time to play a lot of games it doesn't bother you times when you don't i could see getting really anxious.
well that makes sense. both times I got close to legend was the day of the reset. rank 1 3 stars on the 31st. need to give myself more time to relax and hit it.
I'm attempting the climb with Face Hunter, but I must suck, cuz I can't even leave rank 14 right now.
Face hunter doing really well around rank 5 its just not in the meta I'm guessing at your rank so switch to something until you see an opening for that deck then play the hell out of it.
Mid-druid is just about the worst deck going at the moment. Absolutely fucking terrible with only the combo to redeem it and that hardly matters the deck is so bad. Was equally awful last season as well.
I'm coming to the conclusion that you just have to pick a cancer deck like face hunter and grind your way out to about 8 and then re-evaluate what you are facing. A lot of these "top tier" decks are utter garbage at 5 and above. Druid is just terrible in general because it loses to pretty much all decks that are being played.
have to agree with you, I took combo druid to 5 last season, but this season it has been crap. Been riding my aggro/mid shaman this season and after an early climb to seven, I lost a few and went to combo druid and promptly tilted back to rank 10. Everyone seems ready for druid right now.
I can't wait for standard, I am so bored with the current meta. I am really hoping we can reach a shifting meta with lots of viable decks in the future.

Let me tell you how the ladder works. Most people try to play either tier 1 decks or decks that counters those. You should only play the tier 1 decks, if you are very experienced with them. They are strong, but if you are meeting many counters, you will have a difficult time. Many cases a solid tier 2 deck is the best choice as it is not popular enough that you will get counters, but still strong enough that you will have a chance against many decks.
Also when the meta reports get published, they are already old news. I mean they are based on the past and there is no guarantee that the meta has already changed, in fact in most cases it has already changed.
Regarding druid, on the first day of the season, it worked for me. On the second, not anymore... You should not get upset, when you realize that a deck no longer works, just move on and play something else. The meta will always change based on your rank and also every day. There is no need to bang your head against the wall.
The challenge starts tomorrow. I just conceded back to rank 20 and zero stars and will have one week to reach rank 8.
Is anyone interested in it? Should I bother recording and uploading to somewhere?
I did it last season. I even messaged him to ask if week three was any different than two for the purposes of his challenge and he said it wasn't. I did it in 6ish hours over 3 days. I might as well do it again, just to add to the pile of evidence that 20-8 is not some mysterious black hole where someone who plays perfectly can't even achieve a better than 50 % win rate. My only regret is that I don't have access to mid range druid on my eu account to prove him wrong about that too.

Wait till the second week of the season and climb from rank 20 to rank 8. Raydowner believes that those ranks are harder than legend because of their unpredictability, and that the average player down there is just as good as your average legend player, and that the game is all luck which explains why he finds it difficult to get past rank 10. The reason to wait until the second week is because he believes that unless you're "lucky" enough to "fluke" your way out of the bottom ranks early on you're basically just stuck, because you face so many random and unpredictable decks that you can't achieve a better than 50% win rate to climb out of it. There were 3 other conditions for his challenge as well, that it had to be on EU and you can't use Reno or play Secret Paladin.
Still at rank 10, just haven't played enough games, but have a pretty solid win rate.
Wife is out of town next week so I'll try to get in 100+ games in and at least hit 5.
My biggest issue is win streaks. If I'm not facing a hard counter my 3rd game I get nervous and don't play as well, or just get outplayed. I've had 2 win streaks all season.

Dudes, what are you doing? why are you doing some sort of "intervention" - you know that the guy is talking nonsense and he knows it himself ... if three people do it, all he will say is that you "went lucky". His whole "theory" can already be dispatched easily by the overall structure of ladder. Winstreaks alone make you get out of the "black hole" easily, even at 50%. There is just one explanation, he knows it, you know it, so why bother: he just sucks at the game and he should focus on getting better instead of posting over and over again here, nuff said!
I was upset about standard at first, but standard is going to level the playing field and it should be a lot easier to get to legend without all of those sticky deathrattle minions and broken cards :)

What a stupid challenge, I do this every season and have no problem winstreaking through those entire ranks

Instead of playing endless amount of games each day, I am starting a goal each day.
A) Each day I play a total of 20 games.
B) If I lose 3 games in a row I stop playing.
C) If I win 5 games in a row I up the amount of games I am playing that day by 5 (so 25)
This way I have a goal in my mind to reach and dont have the extra pressure of just ranking up.
Hit legend today with this Reno Warrior. GL to all laddering players.
feel free to read the guide on this deck
For quick climb let's say to rank 6 or so I suggest
read deck guide,
cheers

Going for it, hopefully will reach there, rank 5 atm.

Can any players playiing in NA list their decks that brought them to rank 5-1?
I am going to try this deck in legend, maybe go for high legend with it
