I haven't tried to reach legend for the last 4-5 Seasons, since i mostly grinded Arena for my full Collection. With this done i don't Need to Play Arena that often anymore and maybe i will try it to legend again. But actually i enjoy playing Arena more than ladder, since on ladder it is always the same decks you face and it is often more about the match-ups than the way to Play. So i will decide when i reach rank 5. Right now it Looks great with Midrange Druid.
Capped out at rank 2 last season, though I didn't play that much so I will try to get it this month I would love to work on getting a golden hero, but I don't have more than like 150 wins on anything. Like 130 on Paladin and like 110 on Druid. Everything else is sub 100 haha.
Whole fucking ladder is full of priests. How well you do is more about how many horrendous matchings you get more than anything else. When you play a session and auto lose all the time, switch decks and then get different counter decks there's not much you can do.
I switched to murloc paladin to climb up some ranks as I saw like 3-4 priests in a row. It was a good choice, they probably saw a paladin and thought "free win" until the warleaders started dropping.
just saw the new announcements. happy for more deck slots but I Despise the new changes coming. Taking away adventures and old cardpacks? greedy imo.
Don't think it's greedy. It would be greedy if they kept introducing more cards and forcing everyone to buy everything to keep up. This will give new players a chance to be competitive without having to invest a crap ton of money into the game. For someone that has mostly a complete collection, it means I get a new play mode with a few different rules which is all right. I personally don't understand the rage some people are showing towards this.

because belcher and other naxx cards are pretty stapled into the current decks everyone is using. Not being able to use them anymore or the gvg cards is devastating to the meta.

It's not devastating at all. It'll just be a different meta. Plus we are getting a new expansion that will probably plug some holes. The only thing I'm not sure yet is how exactly Wild mode will work going forward. The fact that Arena will be Wild was well gives me some hope that some balance will be considered when printing new expansions. I guess we'll have to see.
Legend isnt a grind when you're a pro and do it in 200 games :D
200 games is still a grind. Let's say the average game takes 10 minutes, that's still more than 30 hours of ranked play in a month. Assuming you play every other day, that's 2 hours per day. It's not like it's just a breeze. If you don't have a job/school and are playing 12 hours a day, that's a different story.

Wild mode will be left to rot and there will be no balance changes to it to incentivise people to play standard. The reason that they can leave arena as wild is because you don't have a free pick of all the imbalanced cards and their combos in arena, only what you are offered.
I think the changes are incredibly scummy. On the one hand I am salivating at the prospect that reno dies next year (although I'm sure they'll just reprint him as such) on the other hand I kind of think I won't be around by then. It's also going to make these 130 expansions a pretty hard sell if you know you can't use them in standard (which eventually will be the only viable mode) until next year. I assume they will do one expansion per year released in the last quarter of the year and all the other shit will be adventures. There's no way they can try to sell multiple 130 card expansions per year surely?
However you look at it the changes are an incredibly bad deal for those who have a big collection and have spent money on the game to make it what it is today. They amount to pure greed, disrespect to all the older players and an admission that blizzard is simply incapable of balancing more that about 250 cards at any one time.
edit: meh I'm wrong, expansions are instantly playable and reno is still around next year. Absolute disaster on all fronts.
I think Wild will become a problem eventually. Not right now. I guess we'll cross that bridge when you get there. I would love if Blizzard took a look at a couple of cards from GvG and possibly nerfed them. It would leave things in a much better place.
I don't think it's scummy. Right now, we are getting expansions and playing only a handful of cards. It sucks. There are a lot of cards in TGT that I would like to use but can't because I am forced to play certain cards like Piloted Shredder or Dr. Boom. Does it suck that cards that I've collected so far won't have the same use going forward? Yeah, but I was going to buy the new expansion anyway, so it doesn't make that much difference. My guess is that eventually they'll be able to settle on 2 expansions and 2 adventures a year. But again, we'll see.
League of Explorers will get out of rotation once the first expansion of 2017 hits.
going to skip this season and maybe never come back. The game is more about picking a deck and RNG than actually outplaying your opponent. The crap of pala/druid and warlocks over the last few months have really taken out the joy for me

If there's so many priests why don't you play Handlock - you have a free win vs. priest
Had pretty good run with

So what happens to this thread after the new format is released?
Are we divided into two thread "Headed for Legend Standard" and "Headed for Legend Wild"
THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS!!!!
I love this thread and don't want us to be divided. I fear for the day I reach legend. I never want to let go of this thread.
