Hating on tier 1 decks is just stupid. I mean, yes, they're overpowered in some aspects but no deck in this game is without a counter.
In games like World of Warcraft you would wear the best equipment possible whilst PVPing. So why not equip yourself with the best deck?
I used to be one of the people who constantly played versus tier 1 decks and bitched and complained about it every step of the way. Then I realized that it's the best way to play and on top of that, it's a lot of fun. If you want to perform well, you should be playing the best decks. If you're running tier 2 and tier 3 decks and wondering why you're losing to decks like mid-range druid, secret paladin, renolock, etc., you're really not thinking much about why it's happening.
Yes, it does suck if you can't afford to obtain the cards to play it. However, Secret Paladin is probably one of the most inexpensive tier 1 decks yet. Most people already have a copy of Dr. Boom and obtaining Mysterious Challenger x2 is only 800 rupees. If you account for the rest of the cards the deck runs, they're almost all common and rare. Competitive Spirit, Avenge, Muster for Battle, Repentance, Knife Juggler, Pilot Shredder, Secretkeeper and the list goes on. The only exceptions are Coghammer and Tirion Fordring if you choose to run him. I run neither in my current Secret Paladin deck and have a win-rate that's positive every time I play.
So ask yourself: If you really enjoy your deck so much, why are you coming on here to complain about tier 1 decks? Why not try it and see if you enjoy it as well? It doesn't make you a bad person to want and use the best equipment. It's in the game for a reason. For you to use and have fun.
So instead of complaining, just join the crowd. Hopefully soon there will be some changes to the meta and we can all enjoy a new set of tier 1 decks because even though I really do enjoy playing these decks, they're obviously get boring after a while.
Secret pally, druid, freeze mage are all cancer tier. What are you trying to prove, that they aren't? Many people hate them because they offer little to interaction and many of the games are one sided. Nice blog post btw.

Then learn to beat them. Either you play to win, or deal with the consequences. It's cool if you don't want to play tier 1 decks, that's perfectly fine, but then you have to adjust your own decks in such a way that you can still beat the secret pallys of the world or just stop caring that others want to win badly enough to play tier 1 decks.
I've tried to adjust my control priest and mid-range shaman to beat what I see and it still works.
People hate on decks like Secret Paladin (myself included) because they're tier 1 and require no skill to play. Even bots can get to rank 5 with SP. Tier 1 decks should reauire some skill to play imo
People ran Patron bots up to rank 5 same with Freeze mage. It doesn't matter how complex a deck is eventually a bot will play it better than pros. The only thing stopping that is faster release cycles like we got with LoE. Bots are so so much better than they were 2 years ago and the only one you people are complaining about is the free trial one that gets you banned instantly because it has no warden protection but everyone uses it anyway because Blizz takes 2-3 months to actually take action against no warden protection bots.
Freeze mage gets too much credit for being tough. I ran freeze at 60% winrate without ever having tried the deck before. It's very solitairesque. Once a control priest bot comes out that can make it to rank 5 I'll be impressed.
No, I play what I want and something I will have fun with. I'm not playing unfun skilless decks.
And people don't hate tier 1 decks, they hate overpowered unskillful decks that even bots can run aka secret paladin. I never hated patron when it was tier 1 deck, because it was actually fun and skilled deck to play.
I've gotten legend almost every month in the past year.
This month I've played 100 games and I'm rank 17
I keep getting bad draws/bad matchups
It's like the game turned on me?
Them tier 1 decks must be doing wonders for ya...
Anyway I'm going to play secrets Pally when hell freezes.
OP probably started playing secret pally because he wanted to climb ladder. I played secret pally last season. I am playing control warrior this season not because i want to make people happy, but because i am bored with secret pally. To each his own. If you want to climb ladder and like to play secret pally go for it. You either play it or know how to beat it. And if you just want to play fun decks play casual.

im just a turtle...on a boat.
wow nice post kaymo.
i just posted something just like this a few seconds ago.
And after the meta changes people will complain about the new top tier deck. Its just the way it is.
People feel hobbled in their ability to play a range of decks, they can't enjoy the game for what it is.
Win or lose I personally couldn't give a crap, some of my favorite decks to play are absolute garbage for progressing in ladder or being competitive.
The real problem is people getting a false sense of success by ascending and descending some arbitrary ladder or winning a game.

Guys, stop complaining about secret pally, I'm farming them right now. I need more paladin
;p
Because people don't wanna be seen as conformists while they're playing a video game that millions others also play.
Wait, that doesn't make sense.

No deck should be so dominant that it forces player to "join the crowd".
Not saying secret paladin is at that point, however if any deck gets to that point it is very bad for the game.
