Hi all, just wanted to ask which i should consider building up, my druid or rogue?
currently, im missing both Ancient of Lore and Preparation for these classes. i dont have any rogue legendaries too, but i got Cenarius. apart from those, i pretty much have the other staple cards. any advice on which i should play?
ive also been focusing on the other classes, which is why i dont have these epics
plus im f2p, so coming across packs is rare. (no time to arena or grind cuz of school)
so if you are missing a lot of card from different classes you should start playing 1-3 classes in the beginning and focus on them, not trying to serve all classes at once - exspecially with a new expansion at the front door
as of now i would rather say druid over rogue but you never know
Preparation is currently a main card for Rogue and has been for some time. If you don't have the legendarys for Rogue that isn't the end of the world as they are both good but a bit gimicky. IMHO Trade Prince Gallywix is considerably better than EvC anyway.
Ancient of Lore is a wicked card but is not a vital component in all Druid decks.
If we were due no new content anytime soon I would probably advise Preparation BUT we are due stuff very soon so I would hold your dust for the OP shit they haven't shown yet. Also, you may get incredibly lucky and pull an awesome class legendary from the new cards which may make you want to use a different hero or craft something to round out a deck.
Ultimately this is your call but I would suggest waiting about 2 weeks before deciding. You may find you want something totally different after the release and if not, then you can still make the cards you were missing before.
Both prep and ancient of lore are pretty much necessary for each class. Prep lets you have crazy burst turns, ancient of Lore is druids best (often ONLY) source of card draw.
Legendaries for both those classes are unnecessary.
So, play whichever you think is more fun. Druid is easier to play, Oil Rogue is quite powerful but one of the most difficult decks to play.
Druid will probably get to see a lot of action post TgT... looks like the are getting lots of good cards.
So much of this thread is just wrong. Druid and Rogue are both excellent ladder decks right now and the decision comes down to playstyle. I'm also f2p but I happened to open both Rogue legends and Cenarius so I made this same decision when I got enough dust. Luckily, none of those three legends is actually required. I don't think I've ever even used Trade Prince Gallywix and Edwin is optional and he isn't currently making my list. You really don't have to craft any legends for either deck unless you're missing Sylvanas for druid or something.
The decision you're making is between Aggro-Midrange and Tempo. The most common Druid deck (with Force of Nature combos) is a midrange deck in the sense that it plays large 4-5 mana threats and tries to kill around turn 9. It generally fights for board control by ramping out big sticky guys and counting on the opponent to not be able to deal with or race them. I'm personally not a fan, it feels the same as like half of the decks in this game and I've never really cared much for midrange anyway.
Rogue is a tempo deck. Tempo means that you're trading card advantage for board and mana advantage. Most games involve sticking a threat and then piecing together a bunch of underwhelming cards to keep your opponent from messing with it. Preparation is imo the most fun card in the game and Oil Rogue is incredibly difficult but also very rewarding. Of course, I primarily play MtG where I also played mostly tempo decks, so take my praise with a grain of salt.
Well that simply aint true - having played my fair share of Druid I never felt the need to put it in my Fatigue Druid deck. Ancient of Lore absolutely does help and opens up a host of options but similar to Lay on Hands it is not THE vital component on which all decks are made around. Much like most cards they are fantastic to have but workable around if you don't.

i think both Ancient of Lore and Preparation are absolutely required for either of these two competitive decks. And I don't think Fatigue druid comes anywhere close to competitive.

yeah okay - you got a point in the fact, tht fatigue Druid doesnt need AoL - but as pg8 already said, thats far away from beeing competetive right now - which might or might not change with TGT
for this what we call a standard druid deck (Force of Nature -Savage Roar combo) or even the right now popping up mech druid Ancient of Lore is some kind of key card due to its viability and solid body
lol thanks guys, i think i'll save the dust until TGT comes out. ive just been getting into oil rogue recently, and wanted the Preparation, though my druid is somewhat complete, and just missing Ancient of Lore.
oh, and to clarify, i do use other classes, its just that i want to try the others more.
though most probably ill craft Preparation if none of the new TGT cards will be top tier
Go for Druid, it is really more fun and there is more space for being creative, especially after the reveal of the new druid low-cost minions.
You have Cenarius, so why not go for Druid? Druid is of course more expensive, but not that much if you don't play the full Late game version. I'm playing Druid very often and made a "cheap version", which also performes good against the aggro-meta.
Not sure whether this has already been said but, you should definitely go Druid. No matter what the meta is there is always a viable Druid deck, all of which always include 2x Ancient of Lore. You have the ramp and midrange druid decks which have been around for more than a year now. The reason being is that they are very consistent.
I am a golden druid player and have been legend twice now. I am a a fan of rogue but they haven't had the best of cards for TGT yet and I must say the druid additions look very strong. Hope this helps buddy.

Try to avoid Rogue, till he becomes viable. When miracle was alive, you would invest in preps and some rare like gadgetzan and you were good, endless possibilities. Now i recommend wait for new expansion. Oil rogue is really inconsistent, really bad against control, and control seems to get stronger in TGT.

Oil wrecks every control deck other than Warrior.
Interesting, oil rogue is quite an easy MU for my Control Priest, and control decks try to remove any threats enemy throws, and oil rogue doesn't have more than a standard control deck's removals. Also southsea deckhand is pretty predictable, so oil rogue is weak against control.

Ours is the Fury.
Wait until some weeks after TGT release, we don't know how much the meta will change.
Go for Rogue, way cheaper than Druid and Oil Rogue is quite strong at the moment.

lol
Druid imho. I find the play style of Druid much more fun to play.
There's an achievement for this? :D

aha! *lol - not!
Ancient of Lore is one of the best cards ever printed and an auto include into every druid you make. together with Swipe, Wrath, Keeper of the Grove and even Druid of the Claw they are the Basics of usually every druid

But of course not all TGT are released and there will be a change in the meta... i don't think that rogue will become very good...
Take what you like best :)
I love Druid. I own golden Druid. I hit Legend for multiple times.
TOP RANK EU: Legend 42

And just promise you will never play hunter.
You can't go wrong with druid. Most core cards are very good and used in most druid decks so worth to spent dust!
But remember one thing- Druid is boring...very very boring to play!!!
awww but I play hunter ;(
The Feign Death hunter, that is.
Thanks too!
