Hello everyone, I`m new at this site. Here is the problem. I want to focus only to mage and priest decks. Thinking of DE all other cards from other classes in order to gain dust so as i can craft all cards for mage and priest. A friend of mine told me that a good idea would be to DE all cards and focus only to 1 class for a start. And then slowly craft other cards and so on...Neutrals i have pretty many cards and all duplicates. Dont know what to do i m confused. I just want to focus lets say to priest and build a super nice deck so i can get good ranks cause atm i cant pass 20-18. Sorry if i confused you too
Since one card disenchants into no more than 25% of its value, you'll risk limiting yourself more that way. I suppose it also depends on what you enjoy playing. Priest and mage are known for their very dust expensive decks, so one heavy priest deck can easily cost you several good budget decks from other classes. If you only want to play those two classes, then you might as well, but personally I always find 3 classes being more fun one expansion, just to be trash in the next.
You can usually make a fine demon hunter or hunter deck without a single legendary card. Wouldn't it be a shame to lose two whole decks, now that priest is bottom tier? At least look up a good mage deck and see what you need to craft it :)
A better idea would be to dust classes you doubt you will enjoy anytime soon, so personally I dont see myself playing Demon Hunter or Druid much at all, so those are my usual dust classes. And then possibly if you have epics or rares that are never seen played at all in other classes you dont play often, can dust those. When it comes to legendaries, its a whole other thing. Some of them will never see play, some of them might seem fun and you would wanna keep it for meme decks or something. Just depends on what you think you would enjoy. Keeping something now that you "might" play once or twice ever, when you could craft something you want to play now, is a choice you have to make. Personally I would stick to just dusting the always bad cards, and then keep cards that are strong (especially if there is talks of nerfs), even for classes you dont play often, so you have the options later in the future. Sticking to 2-4 classes is good idea though if you dont spend money on HS often.
A note to add is that nerfs will likely come soon (excavate warlock seems pretty certain), which can bring in a lot of dust. The real economy tip is, "never dust cards that aren't nerfed". Having a dumpster class or two is a fine step down from that.
I would argue that you should never dust anything other than cards that have been recently nerfed or cards you have more than one of (or golden cards you dont think you will ever use). The dust return is so poor that it's rarely worth it.
The way the dust/card system is designed you can fairly quickly get all the common and rare cards. You will also get a couple of legendary cards quite quickly from the rewards track and pity timer (1 legendary in your first 10 packs of each set is garuanteed I think). You will never get duplicates until you have all of that rarity of card, and when you do get a duplicate from the reward track you can re-roll it to something else.
In the "My Collection" section you can use the search keywords "refund" to see which cards give full dust refund and "extra" to see your duplicate cards
As a final thought - I always tend to craft neutral legendaries in preference to class legendaries because they generally have more flexibility and you can use them with every class. Class legendaries do tend to have more powerful and unigue effects though.
You can't really just focus on two classes, because of how balance works. Some sets, they just won't be very good and you have to play other classes. Right now, Mage is semi-playable, but Priest is very bad overall.
But getting past that rank is 100% a skill thing. I play off-meta decks and generally get somewhere in mid-high Platinum. Even with mediocre decks you should still be able to consistently reach Gold.
For the disenchanting, I personally would say that it's safe to disenchant things like terrible Epics that will never see play, and I always disenchant golden cards if I have a playset of the normal version. I do buy the mega bundle and end up with about 12k dust per xpac. Removing those packs, you should still be able to get 5k-6k dust per xpac just based on track rewards, brawl rewards, quests, etc. Especially with the catch-up packs now giving you a ton of fodder.

If OP should take just one piece of advice from this thread ;)

As a dedicated mage player....i wouldnt do that. Mage currently isnt that good, as much as it hurts to say

I wouldnt dust stuff of the current Rotation but if you have no interest in wild and duels, feel free to dust old stuff.
That is what I do, if I need dust.
