I was chatting on battlenet with an opponent I became friend with, and he told that if I put a tech card in my deck which counters a specific type of deck, I decrease my chances to get matched against his deck.
For example, it would be dodging secret mages because of a secret eater in the deck.
It actually feels like it. I mean most people just play prodecks and they dont run counters, but I play low so I do my own decks and I love counters, but it is like this: you face 3x the same unbalanced deck, you sick of it and put some tech cards and for the next 3 games you face something else. I quit or play battlegrounds

Hummm ok so you think having a secret eater in my deck would increase my chances to not met with a secret mage in wild queue ?
Losing to Sire Denathrius makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Sire Denathrius nerf makes me want to play this game again. Losing to Deathrattle Rogue makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Prince Renathal nerf makes me not want to play this game anymore.

It is true ?
Thank you
To answer your question, no it won't alter your rate of squaring off against certain decks/classes. Imagine if running Theotar meant never playing against Denathrius? Would be silly and it would throw the entire matchmaking system out the window. The only thing that will alter your opponents is your MMR.

No. What usually happens is that people put in tech cards right after facing the same deck like 5 times in 6 games. But obviously no deck has an 80% popularity, you just got unlucky, so afterwards you'll perceive the deck as less common even though it's actually just gone back to a normal level.
Also the meta tends to move a lot, what's popular today might not be popular tomorrow as people constantly switch decks to try and counter the meta.
if that were the case, I think the best deck in the format would be a deck full of tech cards because you would just be matched against like chillwind yetis.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Take a look at my most recent deck, Watch post, totem, menagerie shaman.
If it was true the best Deck at wild would be a tech heavy Deck, that has a win condition that cant be or is hard to counter.
Btw the whole concept of tech cards is to increase your chances in your worst possible matchup(s). If you could avoid (let's say 25%) of those matchups by simply including a tech card, they would be the best cards in the game, when it comes to fine tuning your winrate.

No. It's confirmation bias.

the true answer is nobody around here knows what the algorithm really does
i mean look at twitter
I haven't noticed it

It's obviously not true. There's no way to manipulate matchmaking with deck composition.
No

There's no evidence of this, and also no reason to do it. The only reason why this might matter can be:
1. You have a decent win rate.
2. You face the decent win rate players piloting the deck. You lose 3 and drop mmr.
3. You start facing lower mmr players that play lower winrare decks.
There's no evidence to suggest you get punished for playing tech cards, or for being f2p.
