I climbed to Legend last month with Quest Shaman annihilating Combo Priests , (65% win rate against them). I was running 1 plague of murloc, 1 earthshock and 2 vulperas though and not the Mutate package that everyone runs now. Currently playing Control Shaman with Zentimo, which singlehandedly kills Combo priest if drawn. I have no intention on climbing Legend this season, just enjoying making Priest players miserable(2 earthshocks, 2 hex, 2 earthquakes, 2 hagatha's schemes, come and face me you little Priest scum :P )
Right but this doesn't change Priest being broken, it just means you teched hard against it at the expense of one of Quest Shaman's strongest packages. The deck is so powerful that it forced you to run shitty cards to get an edge in the matchup, while making your deck worse against everything else.
The biggest problem is Divine spirit and cleric. If you don t have cleric that can literally draw your whole deck with pyro and circle and divine spirit for the ultimate devastation than it would be and above averqge deck. You would buff and heal your injured guys without drawing a shit tone of cards and inner firing a 2/7 or like a 4/9 is fine. And in the latter stages of the game droping amet and a couple of one drops is jist a really good swing turn. Unlike droping amet, duvine spiritung him and making an undefeatable board- thats way too good.
Although I understand why you think these cards need to be fixed, it's their interaction with powerful Classic and Basic cards that make it incredibly powerful. We had the same issue with Kingsbane. Everybody screamed for a nerf on the Legendary weapon itself, but Blizzard actually made the right call to nerf Leeching Poison, the real culprit in that deck. Now Kingsbane is a solid card in any Aggro Rogue deck.
For Combo Priest, it's most classes' inability to deal with High Priest Amet on turn 4, or even turn 3 on Coin. And even if you can deal with it, it'll probably cost you your board. And in comes the real culprit of this deck, for me, Psychopomp. Not just on Amet, but also Injured Blademaster and Injured Tol'vir. It's Priest's insane curve right now, that makes it so good.
I'd say nerfing Amet to 5 mana 2/7 is a good call here. It will stop Priest from curving into Psychopump easily. Another dangerously often overlooked foe is Northshire Cleric. Blizzard previously stated that they no longer want OP 1-drops, but arguably, the best one has never been touched. Nerf it to 2 mana, and Combo Priest will still be strong, but has a more awkward curve.

I don't count earthshock, vulpera, or plague of murlocs as "shitty cards" I was saved from them many times against also a Quest Druid's full board or from an Aggro's warrior early game, many times, so "shitty cards" against everything else, NO, but I bet you netdeck the PRO players so no kind of intelligence or innovation from your side. But, I didn't came to discuss the quality of the cards. I came here to reply, to say thank you for considering me a skilled player, since I managed to climb to Legend with playing with shitty cards, thanks sir :) .
As for Combo priest, I didn't say it's not OP or something. Jumping into conclusions is a bad habit you know. I just said I make the lives of Priest Players miserable in ladder right now.
P.S As a tip, playing the Sandstorm 2nd in a Quest Shaman mirror match can give you the edge to win. Plague + hero power + sandstorm is most of times board clear or close to it. So I was sitting in my chair eating pop-corn while I saw them full mutate with their "strong package" and wreck them next turn :) :)
Yeah it's maybe not causing meta problems. But we have a really nice meta right now EXEPT for Priest which steamrolls too many decks. That's why I just want to lower its power and not completely destroy the deck.

Been an auto win for highlander hunter. The key to beating combo Priest is controlling their ability to complete quests (IE not doing damage the first few turns and avoiding situations where they can damage and heal minions) and killing a relatively small number of minions.
I think it’s a matchup a lot of people play poorly against.
sure, 1 mana stupid cleric 2 mana 2/3 taunt - 0 mana 4 heal area - buy 1 card, maybe 2 if heal enemy too. 3 mana 4/3 - 0 mana 4 heal 4 mana - psychopomp 5 mana - deck pilot itself alone (some braindead pyromancer play, or tauren bullshit) 6 mana - whatever, ur foe concede by boredom, go play another game. Next game - doesn't have a next game, the player goes to control panel and delete the game. Time to play Apex or Toxic of legends, better than play against a deck that play by itself.
after all that explain, do u have any idea how to counter a perfect table like that? I forgot to mention other bullshit like full heal adjacent and etc...there's no card to counter any early plays of this deck...so I guess "poorly plays" it's not a very good argument, unless u're high elo, what I doubt a lot.

Or rather jumped to conclusions about how I form opinions on cards, how I build my decks, and how I might consider getting to Legend with (any version of) Quest Shaman skillful.
Yes, cutting the evolve package makes your deck weaker against the rest of the field, and a couple of fringe cases where a tech card helped in a different matchup doesn't make this not the case - averages > individual cases. There are better cards to remove to fit techs in. Earthshock can be pretty decent in a ladder setting if there's a lot of Priest but Plague of Murlocs is only really significant in a tournament setting where you know you will face Priest 1-2 times in a Bo3. Vulpera Scoundrel is super mediocre deck filler. We all experimented with this card early on and it was a massive disappointment.
As others have said, the fact that Divine/Inner Fire is a thing in every single expansion is a joke at this point. Especially given the cards that have been nerfed/hall of famed instead of it.
Even when the deck is not that competitive it's still a shitty thing to face and a horrible way to lose.

Every single expansion ? That's literally the second meta since I started playing where the deck is above tier 4.

When they are going to nerf Northshire Cleric to 2 mana they might as well just revert the nerf of Extra Arms back to 2 mana, as they solely nerfed it due to the curve of Northshire Cleric on turn 1 and Extra Arms on turn 2.
Then people will complain getting OTK'ed by Topsy Turvy...
Deck is very strong, but not unbeatable! If you also nerf this deck (by removing Divine Spirit) then we only have like five viable ladder / top tier decks imo (Control Warrior, Quest Druid, Higlander Hunter, OTK Paladin and Quest Shaman).
So please, lets not make yet another class unplayable....
Divine Spirit / Inner Fire has always, and will always, feel like cheating to me. Its just unfathomable that these two cards still exist in standard. The game would be better off without them. Id frankly be happy if they were not HOF'ed but deleted entirely.

So, how you gonna win with Priest...
Board control perhaps ? Is it written somewhere that every class needs a built in OTK ?
Doesn't matter...complain about smth that doesn't matter to develop team...maybe u can find smth in Weekly bullshit card design, but it's not worth, not even play this game anymore. 15 days without login and so on...hope I'll never have to open this game again, and the new devs die soon already...they are ruining the game, specially L'oreal bullshit executive producer.

Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.

Combo Priest is very good but I don't think it's so good it's causing meta problems. There are many good tier 1 decks.
That being said, Blizzard seems to like shaking up the game in between expansions. I wonder what we can expect?

I think I saw this on about every other hearthstone site.
And the one thing that always stands out to me.
Priest is not present/working this expansion - fix it!
