I have just started playing Hearthstone and am really struggling. I have built a Zoo Warlock deck from what dust I have and have got to level 20 and tried Brawl. I have lost about 20 games in a row without a win and the game has become very boring.
I have no clue about my collection or what cards to keep etc or what to dust its all really confusing. Would anyone be able to look at my cards and give me some ideas on where to make dust or what decks I can make to bring a bit more fun back into the game and progress?
Also any info of where to go from here would be appreciated
If you're looking to have fun and play a lot of different decks fast, then craft Whizbang the Wonderful as soon as you can. Whizbang is a very special legendary: you add him and nothing else to a deck, and he will then give you one of 18 different decks to play with when you queue into a game. In other words, you won't know what deck you'll be playing until the game is started! There are even people who have gotten to legend with him.
You craft using dust and you get dust by disenchanting cards you don't need or want, mostly legendaries and epics. Many people disenchant their golden cards because they give more dust, so you can craft better cards faster. So, I'd recommend you disenchant all your golden cards, and take a look at your legendaries and epics to see if there's any bad ones you don't need. If in doubt, ask! Lots of people are ready to give advice on which legendaries to disenchant.
Lastly, there is actually a lot of skill involved in this game. If you're playing zoolock, you should learn when to fight for board and when to go face, what board clears/removal you can expect from your opponent so you can play around it, and to constantly count damage on the board to look for lethal.
This weeks brawl is most definitely not for new players, I would stick to normal or ranked play at least until another brawl comes along.
For growing your collection I'd recommend never disenchanting commons or rares unless you get duplicates, epic and legendary cards are usually what you build your deck around so if you get one that is only really good in a terrible deck then id disenchant it.
Id also not look at the current zoo deck thats popular with the vultures and all that but instead at a mech token deck with grim rally, its a lot cheaper dust wise than the vulture deck.
Hey man, I’m in a similar situation as the poster, I started off liking mage and now warmed up to shaman quite a bit. I spent like $120 on classic card packs so I have a bunch of cards and dust, the problem is when I start to build/ fine-tune decks I literally feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cards, combinations, synergy, and the correct or “best” way to capitalize on those things.
Three big problems I have are:
1. Not knowing what ratio of lower (0-3) and higher (4-7+, just the way I think about it lol not even sure if that’s how pro’s look at it) mana cards to have
2. Not knowing whether to use an archetype, and if so which one works best (Murloc, mech, pirate, elemental, beast, dragon, etc.
3. Not knowing how many minions vs. spells/ secrets to have, what ratio of high mana minions and spells to low cost, if I should have duplicates of certain cards of not
On top of that I’m just starting to learn about the different deck types, like Tempo, Control, Aggro, Zoo and i just feel overwhelmed and like I have OCD when I start adjusting my decks lol. Is there a good guide/ video/ YouTube channel that you know of to learn the like, “meta basics” I guess? I understand the super-beginner basic stuff, but I feel like I’m drowning trying to get a good grasp on the higher level meta stuff. Any help greatly appreciated!!

I'm also a new player, so I understand your situation. Try watching some streamers on youtube or twitch. They usually have decklist on screen, and watching them play, lets you know how to use the deck as well.
I'm trying to avoid crafting orange cards atm, because it takes me a long time to come up with the dust, and for that amount you are better of crafting 16 blue ones for example. Try to buy at least some packs from every expansion because you will get an orange card in the first 10 packs. Right now I'm using a combo priest deck since I got High Priest Amet, so I'm building the deck around him, using sites like this one to look for good builds.
Thanks for the reply man!! I started playing one of my buddies who introduced and got me into the game, And after just messing around and trying some different things I ended up putting a deck together That does amazingly well! After looking at popular deck builds online I realize that there are actually very similar ones out there, I do a quest/evolve shaman but with my own spin on it! ;) I totally feel you about the legendary cards but I got to the point where I was just like I need to stop being so cautious with my dust and just take some chances making stuff and trying it out, even if some don’t work out and end up being kind of a waste. Because otherwise if I try to hold back and make every decision a perfect one I realized I was just going to end up stunting my growth and learning of the game. So I did end up crafting a couple legendary’s that didn’t end up panning out, but I know (or at least, I hope xD) That I will find a use for them in a deck in the future. I’m on the American server, just from reading forum posts I found out that there are different servers based on geographic location, I’ve never actually gone into the game options and looked at that so I don’t know how it works, but I’m definitely willing to hop on EU To play if that’s possible. My tag is iCloseDeals #1393, add me man!

Hey man, quick question- I’ve only played brawl one time, I did pretty well (I think 2nd or 3rd place) but since I’m still newer to the game I do understand the game well now and I’m starting to have a much better grasp on cards and memorization of different cards and whatnot, but based on that game of brawl I did I definitely feel like it moves way too fast paced for me with my current experience level, maybe I’m wrong but it seems like the people who are doing really good could immediately identify what each card was, the effects it had, etc. by seeing the art on the card. Your post stood out to me when I saw the part where you said “this week’s brawl” Could you clarify what you mean by “this week’s” ?
There is a new brawl every week. Try to win at least 1 game/ week in it, as it gives you a free classic pack. Usually you get a premade deck, so you are not at a deckbuilding disadvantage due to the limited amount of cards you have. And dont' feel bad about playing slower because you don't know what all the cards do, you'll know them all in time ;)
