So this expansion Priest got some new control tools, and I thought if it would be possible to build a deck tailored to the meta. There are not that many aggro decks however all of them seem like a good matchup for a control priest, especially against Token Druid as Priest has Mass Dispel and Plague of Death for Soul of the Forest boards along with the other plethora of AoE Priest has at it's disposal, most notably with the new Holy Ripple card. There are midrange decks with hard to remove minions such as Combo Priest and Quest Paladin, both of which Priest can handle quite nicely with their silence and hard removal that can pretty much deal with any big threat. Of note Cabal Shadow Priest is a disgusting card in these matchups, potentially stealing Amet and their other low atk minions, and Paladin's eggs and mech dragons, plus whatever they copy with their hero power.
Of course, it will still have it's bad matchups and I can see Control Warrior and these Luna Pocket Galaxy decks being a shaky matchup as these slow decks have better value than Priest.
So we have the removal tools, but what could this shell look like? what minions can we add to this archetype to help against the control decks? I was thinking of either a resurrect, Embalming Ritual, Injured, or dragon package. The Dragon one though seems like it's lacking something, possibly more Dragon synergy so I don't think it's good enough but it's there if others don't work out.
Here is a fun control deck using Spirit of the Dead. I had a game where I was down to 1 hp and won simply due to the amount of heals and taunt minions. I had another where I plopped down King Phaoris when I had a hand full of big spells. It was fun. Not as control focused, but works pretty well.
Its not like Priest cant beat CW, but rather there is very little interest in developing the class further. Good luck, I think Priest has all the potential.

Control Quest with taunt minions works well for control. Cards like Psychopomp, Convincing Infiltrator, Sandhoof Waterbearer, Zilliax, Damaged Stegotron, Khartut Defender, and Batterhead work really well with control. You can even use Leeroy Jenkins with Vivid Nightmare to do 18 face damage in 1 turn once you have completed the quest.
You answered your own question. So long as Control Warrior exists with its current power level, Control anything else will not.
That wasn't the point of this thread. The point was to discuss ideas for the shell besides just the removal to help against greedy and control decks.
Sounds like the best route to go, but not sure what cuts need to be made if at all.
So for here is what I've come up with:
