As people already pointed out - Solarium is more versatile and fits in a variety of decks, but Jeklik is the best discard card out there in my opinion.

Does anyone think the discard mechanic will get more support in the future or will blizzard abandon it after its last heavy but again futile push with Rastakhan's Rumble??
Since the quest and so many other cards rotate out but on the other hand Jeklik and the other supporting card of the last expansion will remain in standard for more than a year.
The Discard Mechanic is probably my favourite in the entire game. I love the Risk Vs Reward aspect of it. Having said that you'd be better off crafting High Priestess Jeklik and maybe a couple of Soulwardens to mitigate the risk a little.
I wouldn't base my decision on the need for a discard deck especially the quest based one, short and simple. deck is underpowered, has inherit flaws and it would take several more pushes to be considerable. it can't handle standard, let alone wild. I know some of us enjoy goofy decks, but we're on the brink of a new and significant expansion and if you're struggling with dust, that's a giant NO from me.
I would just play the deck as is, if you find it that freaking fun then go for it (but after expansion) otherwise, you might regret it.

Discard is a mechanic that exists in the Basic set and was pushed in Karazhan, Un'goro and Rumble, so I think it's likely it will be pushed again. So I think it may be good in Wild eventually. For Standard however, whether there will be a playable deck also depends on whether they introduce new discard cards before or after the current ones rotate. I think Soularium, Jeklik and Soul Warden are some of the better discard-themed cards that have been made, but more is needed to make a strong deck and there are only 3 sets left before they rotate.

I've just opened Lakkari from packs. I know, it's not the best card, but I've been waiting for a long time to get in this deck form.
But I don't really have any discard Legendary, and I only can craft one. Which one would be the best?
Jek'lik, Zavas, Lana'thel, Soularium
I would vote for Soularium, that one could fit in my Mecha'thun deck too, the others not that flexible.
What do you think?
I would play in Wild.
Obey C'Thun, Praise The Darkness, Pet Hakkar, the Soulflayer, Love Yogg-Saron, Hope's End
Jek'lik is by far the best
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jek'lik , but if you want to play aggro or mechacthun lock craft soullarium.
soularium it's more versatile
Soularium is easily the best. Jeklik doesn't see play in wild, it's to slow.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
If you just want to play Quest get Soularium. It can help so much with finishing the quest quickly.
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
can I say neither?
