To honor the recent nerfs, I think it is appropriate to honor some previous important nerfs in the history of heartstone. This is basically a request to Blizzard to create a tavern brawl with all nerfs reverted! We have had something similar before, but it only included certain unnerfed decks, and did not give the possibility to mix the unnerfed cards with new, maybe even more broken synergies. It would obviously be broken, but far from the most broken tavern brawl they have released, and for a few days, I think it would be fun to find out what would come out on top in this dive into a different dimention of power creep.
Please note that all cards should be unnerfed to their most powerful version so Leeroy Jenkins would and ironbeek owl would cost 4 and 2 mana respectively and could not be used in odd decks, for example.
Here are some important nerfs to consider:
Wild Growth – Now costs 3 mana, up from 2. Nourish – Now costs 6 mana, up from 5. Level Up! – Now costs 6 mana, up from 5. Saronite Chain Gang – Now reads: Taunt. Battlecry: Summon another Saronite Chain Gang.Leeching Poison – Now costs 1 mana, down from 2. Now reads: Give your weapon Lifesteal this turn.Giggling Inventor – Now costs 7 mana, up from 5. Mana Wyrm – Now costs 2 mana, up from 1. Aviana – Now costs 10 mana, up from 9. Call to Arms - Now costs 5 mana, up from 4. Crystal Core - Now changes your minions to 4/4 (down from 5-5) Dark Pact - Now restores 4 health, down from 8. Naga Sea Witch - Now costs 8 mana, up from 5. Possessed Lackey - Now costs 6 mana, up from 5. Spiteful Summoner - Now costs 7 mana, up from 6. Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7) Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5) Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge. Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game. Innervate - Now reads: Gain 1 Mana Crystal this turn only. (Down from 2) Fiery War Axe - Now costs 3 mana. (Up from 2) Hex - Now costs 4 mana. (Up from 3) Murloc Warleader - Now reads: Your other Murlocs have +2 Attack. (Down from +2 Attack, +1 Health)Spreading Plague - Now costs 6 mana. (Up from 5) The Caverns Below - Now requires playing 5 minions with the same name, up from 4. Abusive Sergeant - Attack reduced from 2 to 1. Execute - Cost increased from 1 to 2. Small-Time Buccaneer - Health reduced from 2 to 1. Spirit Claws - Cost increased from 1 to 2. Rockbiter Weapon - Cost increased from 1 to 2 Tuskarr Totemic - Now summons "a random basic Totem", instead of "ANY random Totem". Call of the Wild - Cost increased from 8 to 9 Ancient of Lore - Card text changed from "Choose One - Draw 2 cards; or Restore 5 Health." to "Choose One - Draw a card; or Restore 5 Health." Force of Nature - Cost reduced from 6 to 5. Card text changed from "Summon three 2/2 Treants with Charge that die at the end of the turn." to "Summon three 2/2 Treants." Treants summoned by this spell no longer have Charge but no longer die at the end of the turn. Keeper of the Grove - Changed from a 2/4 to a 2/2. Ironbeak Owl - Cost increased from 2 to 3. Big Game Hunter - Cost increased from 3 to 5. Hunter's Mark - Cost increased from 0 to 1. Blade Flurry - Cost increased from 2 to 4. Leper Gnome - Changed from a 2/1 to a 1/1. Arcane Golem - Changed from a 4/2 to a 4/4. No longer has Charge. Undertaker - Now reads: Whenever you summon a minion with Deathrattle, gain +1 Attack. [Previously: Whenever you summon a minion with Deathrattle, gain +1/+1.] Flare - Cost increased from 1 to 2 Gadgetzan Auctioneer - Cost increased from 5 to 6 Soulfire Cost increased from 0 to 1 Leeroy Jenkins - Costs 5 (up from 4) Starving Buzzard - Costs 5 (up from 2) and now has 3 Attack and 2 Health (up from 2 Attack and 1 Health) Unleash the Hounds - Costs 3 (up from 2) Pyroblast - Costs 10 (up from 8) Blood Imp - 0/1 (down from 1/1) and now reads: Stealth. At the end of your turn, give another random friendly minion +1 Health. [Previously: Stealth. Your other minions have +1 Health.] Warsong Commander - Now reads: Whenever you play a minion with 3 or less Attack, give it Charge. [This patch note is mistaken: the card was in fact changed to read "Whenever you summon a minion with 3 or less Attack, give it Charge". Previously: Your other minions have Charge.] Sylvanas Windrunner - Costs 6 (up from 5) Blizzard mana cost is now 6 (up from 5) Cone of Cold mana cost is now 4 (up from 3) Frost Nova mana cost is now 3 (up from 2)
I want to kick this off with what is considered to be the most broken deck in Hearthstone history. This combo deck is incredibly consistant, fishes out the whole combo for you, and quickly ramps up to a boardwipe or otk. Ultimate Infestation is not even needed! But, the full force of this monster has not been seen before! How would fare vs the ultrafast aggro below with a +2 manacrystals Innervate and 5 mana Spreading Plague? There is only one way to find out...
Another contender for the most broken deck in hearthstone history, but the full force of this has not been seen before either! Can you imagine 0-mana 5-5 Corridor Creepers charging to your face on turn 3 with the help of the original Warsong Commander? Or what about an extreme aggro deck that can also set up huge otk combos with the help of the same charge giver, Death's Bite and Frothing Berserker? There might be an even better build out there more in the line of old Grim Patron warrior, but this is my first bet.
Who would have thought making an aggro hunter with these premises would be that difficult? The problem is that so many cards have been used in this archetype, it is not easy to know which synergies should get the nod when everything is available. This one focuses on beasts and the dreaded Starving Buzzard + Unleash the Hounds combo, but don't forget 2-mana Ironbeak Owl and that this is an amazing fit for Corridor Creeper! Other decks could focus on Undertaker, charge minions or secrets, but it is impossible to have room for everything.
This is here simply for the strenght of 4-mana Call to Arms. There are other ways to build this as well, especially around Genn Greymane, but I leave that to others.
Quest rogue could in full force with both the prenerf quest with 4 cards and 5-5 minions on top of later additions like prenerf Vicious Scalehide and Giggling Inventor.
Ok, I promise, this is the last deck in this OP featuring Patches the Pirate and Corridor Creeper. I just think druid should have a go at it as well, as the class used to have access to the most explosive earlygame stat-dumbs in the game with the help of buffs and the old Innervate. Also, adding the old Force of Nature+Savage Roar combo doesn't hurt either...
This deck relies heavily on the triple freeze nerfs that happened in closed beta. I am curious about how those prenerf cards would fare with the additions of the exodia combo and secret tutors!
The opposite take on freeze mage, also abusing the 2-mana Frost Nova and 3 mana Cone of Cold, but also abusing the old 8-mana Pyroblast. From Primordial Glyph, it could even cost 6! Seems pretty good, doesn't it?
I have had the idea of this Tavern Brawl for a long time, and I really hope we get it some time, even though all of these nerfs happened for a reason...
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."
He is mentioned, but I actually don't think he would be that great considering what he would be up against... Feel free to try to make a deck with him that could compete!

Yeh, sorry, I haven't seen it :/
Btw, a 1 mana 1/2 that gains +1/+1 each time you play a DR minion is pretty op of compared to pre nerf Mana Wyrm and Hench-Clan Thug

I actually tried to make a uth/buzzard huntertaker, but it got clunky and I think the pirate package is just too strong. I would love to see if some kind of hunter could give those other decks a run for their money, though!
I love this, I think the mode could be amazing and hilarious or terrible and oppressive. I have always had an itch that maybe if everything were to be unnerfed the OP cards would actually balance each other out...

The high-octane nemesis of pirate warror, the Doomhammer aggro shaman with Spirit Claws also deserves a shot.
