I have got a question. I bought several expansions (all since witch wood). I found out, that it is really difficult to play more than three decks due to the lack of my card collection. Now, I thought it is a good idea, to safe all my gold for the next expansion, buy the next expansion and dust the rotating cards ( I do intend to play only standard) to create a bigger card collection.
Does anyone have other ideas to get a bigger card collection?
Wild is the midrun safe option to create a collection. It may seem expensive at the beggining but you KEEP ALL the cards you get due to no rotation. With each expansion, "top tier decks" get at most, 1 or 2 new cards, that you could easily get or craft, in standard, decks tend to shift more, and every 2 years your deck is useless but dust.
Play wild = you need 2 card per exp. = 2*3*2 = 12 cards each 2 years. Play Std = you need minimum 20 out of 30 cards per deck each 2 years.
Just think about that though. The same top decks season after season, adding 2 cards. Do you want to play against Jade druid, mill Kingsbane, even shaman and big priest for the rest of time? Hmmm...

my main goal is to get a bigger card collection to be more flexible in the future ... but I understand your point ... is it that annoying at wild? I have never played in wild

Coming from someone who probably never played wild I’m sure he really hates how other people hate to play against those decks, and yeah as an only wild player, it can be annoying.
But there’s much more then that, like previous posters said, the wild collection is never going anywhere. There are so many more tech card choices at your disposal to deal with annoying decks.
also blizz has shown increasing interest in balancing wild, it will take time. This is blizz they take forever with everything, even in standard.
but if your spending money on this game. The most replay value and overall longevity of the game rests in wild.
unless of course every rotation you want to dust perfectly good cards for 1/4 their value.
Or hold on to cards you think will be nerfed (good luck this is like throwing on a dart board)
dust them to get full value, and dust all golden that you don’t need. I did the last 3 things right before I went to wild, bought the adventures and never looked back
As a player that have reached Legend in Wild 3 times , never played more than that, i can tell you that at some point you will surely regret dusting rotating cards...When you get bored of standard Wild is a change of pace with a lot of fun..At least until you reach the very competitive ranks..Otherwise it has a lot of diversity and a lot of old forgotten archetypes.
If you are looking for a way to build collection, dont keep gold for every expansion..Instead do arena and become good at it..With time you will most likely go infinite at least 6 out of 7 days of the week.I had reached a point where i had a lot of gold for arena and didn't have the time to spend it.
If you are new to arena i can tell you for sure it's worth spending time and gold..You will lose gold at first, but when you get good you will get your lost gold in return after a streak of good runs..It's worth spending the time. But that's just coming from someone who plays arena since 15' .So don't take my words for granted.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't play wild - from a long term standpoint if you only maintain a few decks, then it does make sense. I wouldn't dust my old cards. But when I dip my toes in wild, it can be an unpleasant and unforgiving experience. I don't take the format very seriously though. If I did I'd just play even shaman.

Thank you! I will go ahead with the arena approach ... so far 3 wins out of one attempt but I was lucky and had mojomaster zihi in my pack!

Don't dust the rotating cards, you will regret it at one point in the future, and probabyl never get them back.
