Hi. I was planning to start playing Odd Warrior for some time and looked through different deck lists. I'm wondering why Ysera doesn't appear in any of them? It seems to be a good value generator for a slow deck like odd warrior. So there should be a reason why it's not there.
Odd warrior doesnt need Ysera, it will make the deck worse against aggro(bad draw) and other control decks can deal with it, the only value you need is the hero power.
What would you cut for it? Whenever you ask why a card isn't run, you first have to ask that. The anti-fatigue cards are value enough, and the rest of the deck is removal. Ysera is just suboptimal because it's so slow and doesn't do enough.

I'm considering replacements for Elise the Trailblazer as I don't have it and don't want to craft expensive cards that will be rotated soon. Would prefer not to craft gluttonous ooze as well
I love to have Ysera in the deck. But like other said, useless vs aggro while Control deck can kill it easily due to you have no other threat in your deck so your opponent likely still have plenty of removals for the card.
But the other dragon, Alex is much more useful. Can save your ass sometimes after the aggro mage throw all his spell at you and you at single digit health, or a 2 turn surprise lethal with Gowlhowl

Thanks. I have both Alex and Gorehowl, so may try them too
@OP in my deck I ran: whirlwind, Dread and... Ysera
Odd warrior has enough armor/removal to get you to T9 and ysera just seals so many games - she can draw burn to close games, clear and removal. The biggest problem I found running her is not how slow she is but not burning cards, odd warrior always has a pretty big hand and this just clutters it more and you have to play to that weakness, especially against druids.
She was viable before Boomsday as long as you modified the regular metadeck version to fit Ysera, which is required (having one more dead card against aggro is irrelevant since your other tools actuate the control flow), and she's viable now. What minions in Odd Warrior are must removes for other Control decks? I've been reading criticisms without explination to the contrary to solidify that opinion; OP if someone is telling you what is wrong without going into detail OR explaining the positives and how they are offset by the negatives, their opinion is simply inferior due to narrowmindedness.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Most people build their Odd Warrior to beat Aggro. They wind up with a deck that loses to every non-Aggro deck. But they beat Aggro, so they are happy. In the Brave New World of Hearthstone, Odd Warriors are the Deltas.
But honestly, it doesn't matter if you run any card in any list. Your deck doesn't have to be exactly the same as someone else's. I find that Y'Sera is either too slow or doesn't do anything for me. If it works for you, then, by all means, go ahead. It's like making food in a restaurant, you don't season the food to anyone's likes, you season it so it tastes good. You can then add any additional seasonings that you want.

Maybe that's why they're called deck recipies.
Well, that's understandable. But when you plan to make a deck which will require you to put all the dust reserves into it - better not to fail :) At least not to fail too much
The vanilla control warrior was filled with big guys, and the win condition used to to be "survive and overwhelm with legendaries." That was a long tima ago, though. The main problem is that she is a dead draw vs anything tempo based, but I am actually not sure if Ysera is even good enough as a value card anymore. She has no deck shuffeling, only creates one card per turn she sticks and has no extra card text.

What is to fail though? Failing means something specific for most people (winning=good losing=bad end story), but that doesn't make if factually so, and that's the problem. There's no high ground to say a card is bad and can't be played when that opinion is in a vacuum. Just like with food, quality ingredients cost more money than basic ingredients; to make the good stuff you have to sacrifice something, either your time, money or both.

Can anyone enlighten me?
I think its too slow, and since you run Dr Boom in the deck you'll have enough value anyway.

Space issues I suppose. Odd Warrior is all removal + anti-Fatigue. Also full hands can screw Ysera over.

you can try it..not everyone has to run the same list you know :)

Nothing wrong with running your own variant. Seen some versions with seaforium bomber and Azalina.
Not sure if hyped yet.
Because Lich King is just straight up better.
Haha 😂 and you can’t even downvote me.
I ran odd warrior to Legend in September.

As Trump has bemoaned, this is not a value meta
