It's pretty decent right now, but I feel there is room to improvement. Wanted to share it here for some input and ideas. Because so far it feels more like a Mech Hunter, which is not a bad thing since that's the only way this deck is able to survive without relying on beasts I guess.
Rexxar is in because it's the best hunter card and an alternative wincondition if you dont draw bowman with dead chargers.
Bowman is a difficult card to build around, because unlike for example Kathrena, it doesn't only care about beasts in your deck but also beasts summoned by other cards. So I'm not surprised you ended up with a deck that is mostly something else and Bowman as an extra boost for the Kathrena + chargers package.
One worry with cards like Bowman and Necromechanic is that they can be win-more. I guess it depends on the meta: if there are a lot of Druids and Warriors with armor and taunts, having more threats can be useful. But if opponents don't have armor and there is a straight path to their face, cubing a charger is often enough to win.
In previous seasons, there were two main Deathrattle Hunter flavors: one using Cube and one using Seeping Oozeling. Cube is more explosive, but Oozeling hits earlier. The Oozeling approach could work with Bowman, but then you'd need a beast you could summon early. Maybe Witchwood Grizzly? I don't know if it would be better than the current approach, but it might be worth exploring.
Yes that's exactly why I felt the deck needs some work. Because it really doesn't feel like a Bowman Deck right now more like a Mech Hunter with Bowman as an extra. Spot on.
Grizzly is a nice idea, makes Kathrena more valuable aswell, however I had feared it would ruin the idea of summoning charged beasts with the bowman. Been playing this deck for a while now though and it really seems like that specific combo is pretty hard to pull off anyhow. When it works it's amazing though. Had one game where I summoned 4x King Krush in 1 turn.
Anyway, what would you consider cutting for the grizzlys?
There are no cards in the list that are obvious candidates to cut, in my opinion. The most non-standard card (besides Bowman and Necromechanic) is WIng Blast, but I assume you picked that over Flanking Strike because of Bowman.
I'm not sure you'd want Grizzly in this particular deck anyway; I was thinking about what an Oozeling alternative deck would look like and that would need to play a beast before Oozeling since Oozeling can copy the deathrattle of the Bowman. Grizzly is a particularly good beast to resurrect because of its negative battlecry.
I used to play the following deck during the early Witchwood meta. With Stitched Tracker as well, it was pretty easy to assemble a combo for turn 8/9, but it struggled against aggro. I tried some variations of the secrets, but it just never did well against Odd Paladin, which could be a significant part of the ladder on some days. (Substitute King Krush for Swamp King Dread, that's just me not wanting to spend 1600 dust: the Swamp King is not bad, but Krush is far more deadly.)
Hey there, been building a Necro/Bowman Hunter.
The current version I been playing looks like this.
