I am Boomaye, a Wild ladder player. When the update came, I got bored with wild meta and tried my luck at standard. My goal was to pick a non standard deck and have a go at it with a challenge in mind, no changes to the decklist till legend.
well, it worked pretty well:
[deck]### Even Paladin # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Raven # # 2x (2) Dark Conviction # 2x (2) Dire Wolf Alpha # 2x (2) Drygulch Jailor # 1x (2) Equality # 2x (2) Knife Juggler # 2x (2) Plated Beetle # 2x (2) Stubborn Gastropod # 2x (4) Blessing of Kings # 2x (4) Call to Arms # 1x (4) Consecration # 2x (4) Lightfused Stegodon # 2x (4) Saronite Chain Gang # 1x (4) Spellbreaker # 1x (4) Truesilver Champion # 2x (6) Crystal Lion # 1x (6) Genn Greymane # 1x (6) Sunkeeper Tarim # 1x (6) Val'anyr # 1x (8) Silver Sword # AAECAZ8FCNwD8gX0Bc8GucECt+kC4fACzfQCC68H2QexCObCAtnHApvLAuXLAvjSAonmAurmArfnAgA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone[/deck]
care to play your cards slowly and think before using power/droping a silver hand from Drygulch Jailor. many times you have 2 of them at the board and more than 3 cards in your hand (or more than 6 cards and 1 at the board), which means if both die, you burn your next card draw. so it is preferable to drop the recruits from your hand than keeping them and using hero power.
agro is not favorable against this deck, so feel free to change Saronite Chain Gang and plated beetles for Sea Giant or Acidic Swamp Ooze or another truesilver champion. they are powerful minions though and did seem to me as powerful and useful drops most of the time.
Val'anyr works on combination with saronite best, but dont save its deathrattle for it. if you can place it on a recruit or another 2 drop, almost just as good. it can be subbed for another truesilver though, but then i would recomend subbing saronite as well for another spellbreaker.
Dark Conviction is pretty great to be kept on early rounds and used on your round 1 recruit for trading value, but if the meta seems fit, sub both for another Consecration and Equality
dont forget i have the stats and can tell you i only met 5 other even paladins during all of the games ;)
I've got stats too haha, playing my fake legend rank (legend 7000 ish now, playing rank 4 people lol). Cubelock is still the most common. After that it's a tie between odd and even paladin, honestly. At the start of the expansion the first couple days, it was definitely odd paladin, but it didn't take long at all for even paladin to become increasingly popular haha.
Either way, it's still impressive that you could play the same deck that many times in a week! That's a grind and a half haha, I commend you for that. My (fake) ADD kicks in and I need to play something else to keep it fresh sometimes haha. Probably why I'll never truly compete for top 100 legend.

Right? I netdecked even mid-range pally the second day of the expansion and played at least a quarter mirror matches before quitting ranked ladder for the season at a comfy (and tragically easy) rank 3 by that same Friday afternoon.
Howdy,

Muligan for Call to Arms, Dire Wolf Alpha and Plated Beetle, keep other 2 drops in case you have none of the aforementioned 2 drops in starting hand.
