So I've been playing predominantly aggro decks for the last couple years, and recently hit 1000 ranked Hunter wins. It's way overdue to start building up a new hero and investing in a good tempo deck.
In the current meta, taking into consideration card cycles and possible nerfs, what do you think is the best tempo deck to start investing in? Cubelock? Dragon Priest? Mage?
Also - none of the decks you mentioned are Tempo decks. Most folks suspect that Cubelock will be the dominant deck post-nerf. The spate of Tempo decks which have been common on ladder since K&C will likely all die off, owing to the nerfs to Patches, Corridor Creeper and Bonemare. It seems reasonable to assume that Midrange decks, which have been pushed out of the meta by Tempo builds, will make a comeback - MR Paladin was popular during Un'Goro and Frozen Throne, for example, and it received some cool new toys from K&C which it has never had an opportunity to use. Other than that, it's a reasonable guess that Secret Mage will do well after the nerfs - if you look at the HSReplays numbers, it's the best deck on ladder against Cubelock, and the best-performing builds currently don't run Corridor Creeper, so the deck won't be impacted by the nerfs.
If you don't intend on playing Wild, you might not want to craft any cards from Year of the Kraken - they rotate in a couple months.
I'm doubtfull about secret mage strength on ladder. Aggro and murloc palainds are still here. They are good even without creepers and they are nightmare for secret mage.

I guess because I haven't been super involved in the conversation I was under the impression the main deck archetypes were split between 'Aggro' and 'Tempo'. That makes a lot of sense now though haha.
I'd go for Secret Mage. Before Tempo Rogue was probably the best Standard Tempo deck but it got hit way harder by the nerfs, so I would expect Mage to be stronger now.
Dragon Priest and Cubelock are not really Tempo decks to begin with, they play more like control decks.

Cubelock is combo deck, not tempo. But after the nerfs cubelock and control-lock would be best performing non-aggro decks for sure.
FWIW - the mods lock threads for "bumping."

Thanks everyone for the replies. Super interesting and think I'll look into a good cubelock or secret mage to start!
New here! Thanks for the warning.

This is the list I plan to run post nerfs: Post-merge Secret Mage
