I am a relatively new player. Began playing after the frozen throne expansion came out. This is my first actual expansion release experience and i am not sure how long to wait to craft decks.
i have around 4k dust and also some legendaries like lorewalker cho, madam goya, anomalus and osruk(i havent dusted anything yet).
the new warlock decks are really awesome like the cube lock and rin control (i have all the cards apart from the kac legendaries for these decks)and i would like to craft them. just wanted to ask if i should wait some more time or is it safe to craft?
voidwalkers, Dk gul'dan and possesed lackeys are probably the most important bits you need to make a control lock now tbh IMO. you can then add cubes to that. cubes are not only good for the doomguard combo, but can be used in control to make tons of void lords. if you have n'zoth as well you can make even more.
I have a few different warlock decks this meta so far and enjoy playing all of them. I could help you build one and cut back on the cost though, just retaining the key stuff.
do you have any twisting nethers or any of the other key removal stuff from classic and KOTFT? You do need a lot of stuff for cntrl-lock.
The new demon-buff zoo stuff is solid as well though, if you have patches/southsea captain and you can still run keleseth, you can build a pretty good zoo deck without changing too much.
The cubelock combo/cntrl hybrid deck is pretty expensive to build it as optinal as possible right now, but it is good. thing is the control decks will be countering this soon enough, so it's good to have options.
Typically you can build an outright control warlock and a cubelock with the same stuff though. You can get away with just using faceless manipulator and prince taladram instead of spiritsinger umbra, although you won't get the 25 damage on turn ten from it. You can copy a cube that has ate a target though earlier to buy time and create more doomguards or voidlords in the control version.
I think for cubelock, optimally right now you want spiritsinger and taldaram though and just forego any 3 mana taunt (I'd probably take doomsayers in this version, but I don't have prince yet to try it out) but you can run with one of the other and still have a solid deck. just remember that it's not a full blowm combo or OTK deck and you need to have a backup plan.
I have a version in my Sig that is pretty solid, and also 2 control versions with cubes as well. (one is called "speedball" and is probably the most fun. it has no upvotes yet though so it's hiding at the backpage of my decklists. If you had the stuff for that, I'd recommend you try it as it's band new and a bit weird. will throw people off guard a bit.)
The only thing that's safe to craft is Corridor Creeper. The cube warlock is cute but i believe any priest decks still beats it and aggro decks are adding silences now to counter the Void which is going to be the trend now so I'm not too sure Cubelock will still be top tier deck.

some kind of control or control hybrid warlock will stay in tier one I think though for a while now. a lot of the same cards are used for both cubelock and cntrl-lock, so they already have the stuff then I'd say build a control lock as it will be future proof. if you have the stuff to then add a doomguard combo as well then go for it.
the cubes are not going to get any worse though, they are used in a lot of stuff.
voidlords, lackeys, corridor creepers and cubes are all safe IMO from new set. Just make sure you have 2 x spellbreakers as tech if you run aggro. you probs only need 1 in as control deck unless you feel you need them in the meta you are up against.
Sorry, I tagged you, but this was more for the OP tbh.
saying as I have tagged you, might as well engage.. what decks are you feeling right now?
It honestly depends on you current collection situation, for example, as everyone said, Controlock in general is very powerful, and it will for sure end up as a tier 1 deck but I feel like the cube variant may change a lot to the point where it even stops being a thing and people just play a more classic control type of list, for that reason I haven't crafted the cubes yet, they're the only cards I'm missing from that deck but I won't waste 800 dust on something that might not be as good as it is rn in a couple weeks + I've been rekting the ladder with my N'zoth Controlock so why would I try something else if my deck is just farming everything I find rn. As for absolute safe crafts on Legedaries and Epics here's my small list so far:
*LEGENDARIES: Honestly nothing, Rin is starting to go away from decks now, the Skull is only needed if you play Cubelock and that deck is still not 100% secure atm, people are starting to realize that Val'anyr is not the best option for Aggro paladin as it is too slow for the type of deck and I've started to see either another minion being played instead or just the old friend true silver champion, Aluneth is a very strong card on Tempo Mage but I tried the deck without it and it still a ridiculous deck and then no other Legedary is seeing actual play in any of the "good" decks, here aluneth is honestly the only semi-safe craft but I would wait still.
*EPICS:
-Void Lord: As said by many in this thread, Control Warlock would be a strong deck no matter what but the cube variant still needs further testing and refining, that being said Void Lord will be played in any Controlock variant so it's a really safe craft.
-Psychic Scream: It sees play in both Raza priest and Big Priest, both are tier 1 decks and will for sure be in the future, if you don't have it and plan on playing any of this decks then go for it, at least 1 is a safe craft, the other ne not so much so better wait.
-Corridor Creeper: probably thesafest craft in all the expansion, this card is just insane in any deck you put it, aggro, mid-range, tempo, and even control, maybe the only archetype it doesn't fit is combo decks as they need very specific cards to function properly. I've been playing this bad boy even on my N'zoth Controlock and it gave me so many games, a must craft for any hearthstone player.
- Spiteful Summoner: Seeing a lot of play rn and it looks like it's an incredibly powerful card, most classes have at least one powerful spell that is decent enough for this card to be worth it, I would say it's a safe craft but wait like a week or 2, semi-safe for now.
- Arcane Tyrant: It's safe if you're playing a deck with a lot of expensive spells so if for example Jade druid is your jam then you must have this card.
- Call to Arms: This is the whole reason Paladin is even being played, and it's also the reason aggressive paladin decks are so good atm, if you have all the other cards or you feel like crafting them, then this card is a must 2x for sure.
- Fal'dorei Strider: Miracle or Mill Rogue are not in such a good spot rn but if that's your jam then you absolutely need this card.
- Twilght Acolyte: It sees play in Dragon Highlander priest and in Satellite priest and overall it's a pretty strong card so again, if you have the rest of the cards for those decks then go for it, if not then there are a lot more important cards you need for those archetypes so focus on those first.
- Unstable Evolution: Shaman is not on a good spot rn but evolve shaman is still a decent deck, and every variation of this deck plays at least 1 Unstable Evolution so if you plan on playing that deck just craft 1 for now and wait to see if the second one is worth it.
ALL THE OTHER EPICS NOT MENTIONED IN THIS LIST ARE EITHER NOT SOLID ENOUGH OR NEED FURTHER TESTING AS THEY ARE SEEN IN SOME POPULAR LISTS AND CUT FROM SOME OTHERS WITH NOT SUCH A HUGE VARIATION IN WIN RATES BUT MAY BE STAPPLES OR SAFE CRAFTS AS THE META FINISHES TO SETTLE DOWN.
In my opinion never craft decks. It's so much better crafting some good cards from every class+neutrals and be able to explore as much as you can. If you don't have some of the legendaries you need, substitute them or craft the essentials but don't waste dust on crafting one single deck that may (and probably will) be bad/outdated next month. So far the new cards that I feel are essential are:
Class epics: Call to Arms, Psychic Scream, Voidlord
I don't feel that any of the new Legendary cards is totally essential to make good decks except for Aluneth that's great in tempo mage and Skull of the Man'ari (but still neither of them is essential to play the class). If you want to craft some legendaries I would recommend crafting DK cards (Gul'dan,Anduin,Malfurion and Jaina are the best, but if you like another class go for it) or classic legendaries that will always be around.
P.S Don't make the mistake to craft Umbra or any other legendary that's meh or just used in one deck if you don't have much dust or a full collection.
Good luck! :D
hey thanks for the advise. i actually have all the dks except warrior(i dont play warrior anywaz) and uther and as for the epics from kac. i have the ones u have mentioned. just wanted a solid deck to climb ladder.
I think you are pretty safe to pick something that's looking good now and start building it. mage, warlock and paladin are looking safest going into the future IMO.
Priest retains the most overall STR, but they will loose a lot of cards when the big rotation comes in a few months, where as other classes stand to loose little or nothing.
IMO you should pick either mage, warlock or paladin and go from there. see what works, try it out with the cards you have in some format and then tweak it.
It's the best time right now to be trying new things and working them out for yourself, as everyone else is doing the same and decks are evolving daily.
Don't over invest on cards that are not key, build the basic version of something you want to play (especially if it won't cost you much/you have a lot of the cards already) but it is definitely a good time to be trying stuff out. Most exciting time in the game is when new cards come out and trying to come up with something new that no one else is quite doing the same way.
very useful advise, thank you. i guess ill start with the basic skeleton of the decks and tweak it before crafting legendaries that might only see play in specific decks.
i wont be playing priest though. i dont wana craft cards that'll rotate out soon as i dont play wild.

hey thank you so much for taking the time to list all of these- the only epic i am missing is the strider and i wont craft it cause i usually dont play rogue as i dont have many of the cards including the pirate package.
i will go ahead and try the control warlock as i have all the epics , dk guldan and n'zoth. was just missing legendaries from the new expansion.
i have also decided to wait a little more before i craft an actual complete deck.

If you are only missing the legendaries from new expansion, that's completely fine, they are not required for the archetype to work. You will have success with that deck, although I find playing control on ladder like torturing for me.
If you can, I would suggest you make an aggro deck as well (zoo warlock for example, you also don't need Keleseth now), and ladder to rank 5 with that, after which you can go for controllock and grind your way to legend. I think that would be much more efficient time-wise.
