I am a relatively new player. Began playing after the frozen throne expansion came out. This is my first actual expansion release experience and i am not sure how long to wait to craft decks.
i have around 4k dust and also some legendaries like lorewalker cho, madam goya, anomalus and osruk(i havent dusted anything yet).
the new warlock decks are really awesome like the cube lock and rin control (i have all the cards apart from the kac legendaries for these decks)and i would like to craft them. just wanted to ask if i should wait some more time or is it safe to craft?
I would wait a few more days. Vicious syndicate will release a report on December, 21. I think the Warlock deck with the cubes are so strong that they'll find a way to counter it, so since it's a expensive deck I would wait to see what's going on the next weeks :p
It's pretty safe now. We've had about 2 weeks to play around with all the cards. I can guarantee you some version of control lock will be played.
Cube lock is more risky to craft because of cards like Umbra but most of the control lock skeleton will be staple in that deck for a while.
I agree. A lot of cards like Corridor Creeper and Spiteful Summoner have proven their value. Control Warlock, Aggro Paladin, Razakus Priest and Dragon Priest seem to be performing pretty well and will most likely stay in the meta. I'm just not sure about the Cube variant of Control Warlock because it's very easy to counter with weapon destruction and silence effects. Maybe even Skulking Geist to destroy Dark Pact, which would delay a lot of damage and allow conterplay to the combo.
Some decks are safe to craft, others are not right now. Control Warlock is not a safe craft. There are too many lists doing too many things and it's far from refined. Crafting it now could risk it being a dust sink. Rin is starting to be cut from lists, Oakheart as well. There is still a lot of debate on whether cube is better or not. Is N'zoth staple or greed? As someone who is also interested in the deck but hasn't crafted it I advise you wait.
Edit for clarity: Yes, control warlock will be around in some form when things settle, but right now what form it will take is far from clear.

Exactly this.
If you have all the epic's, you are in a good spot already (and if you have Gul'Dan) ... most of the warlock decks can be played with decent success without some of the Legendary cards. They just add to the deck, but unlike a lot of others, they aren't totally necessary.
If you basically have the ability to craft only a couple Legendary, I would hold off a while and see what version ends up the best after the dust settles. Personally, I am having the best luck with a N'Zoth deck, that has been modified quite a bit.
I don't have Umbra, but I have played the cube list, and for me, it was clunky. I didn't like the RNG aspect of needing to get a Doomguard on the board via weapon or lackey, AND, have the rest of the combo in hand at the same time. More often than not, I found myself with Doomguard's getting pulled with no cube, or a cube and no Doomguard ... which is why I like the non-weapon, greedy N'Zoth version better.
As for Rin ... I think it will just become a meme. When it works, it is a fun tool. But most of time, IF you get Azari played, you might clear out 6 or 7 cards. And, I think the only deck it really ever was successful against was quest mage, which isn't played much now. Its just too hard to get the seals played now, with so much pressure on you.

I do think it's more than safe to say that all control warlock decks will play Voidlord and Bloodreaver Gul'dan. These are all safe crafts as they're the core of the deck.
@1xbenx1 @zzAMBIENzz Yes, As warlock is my favorite class to play on ladder i do have guldan. i have played handlock and zoo in the past. i have also got all the important epics like void lords and creepers etc. just waiting to see which one of the warlock decks would be worth crafting.

I don't know about cubelock, since it may get countered, but I believe control lock will definitely be played, and that means couple of completely safe crafts, like guldan, voidlords, even the skull seems ok as its pure value.
The problem with control lock is that it includes a big number of legendaries, like skull, rin, guldan, Nzoth, and possibly Thalnos and Master Oakenheart. It would even be fine to craft those (I am thinking about it), except Nzoth who I can't make myself craft as he rotates out in April and it seems like a pure waste. Unfortunately, Nzoth will definitely be part of the meta deck and Warlocks win condition will be significantly weaker without him (its quite weak as it is).
On the other hand, I am thinking about going for control mage and crafting Alanna as I already have DK Jaina, I believe it will mantain at least tier 3 status over the following metas, and it's much more fun to play compared to warlock.
new warlock deck is not awesome.. it just ruins the fun for all other decks just like highlander priest
The thing with control decks is that they get wrecked by secret mage generally (as well as kingsbane mill rogue). Even big priest, the strongest deck atm, gets destroyed by secret mage if played properly and a bit of draw luck. And thats good, because decks like secret mage and mill rogue get rekt by aggro (rock paper scissors).
We are witnessing the same thing happened in KFT; where control was really strong after the nerfs (lead by jade and razakus), after which people reacted to it by playing tempo decks all around, which got countered by aggro (huge performance of aggro druid was notable for more than a month, recored by VS) - the meta balanced itself and tempo rogue emerged as the winner.
I expect the same thing happening this time, control is strong now, secret mage is already on the rise, and meta will shift to aggro in couple of weeks when people stop experimenting and start grinding the ladder with refined lists. And while priests seem strong enough to stay in tier 1 regardless of the meta (at least 1 deck will stay in t1), i think warlock will fall to tier 2 inevitably at one point, as people will start teching against cubelock, and control has no good enough of a win condition to keep him in tier 1 (Rin is problematic as it seems very slow to me).

wow, thats some analysis. well i guess that gives me another reason to wait. thanks man! .,, guess i'll wait for the winner of this expansion lol
In my opinion never craft decks. It's so much better crafting some good cards from every class+neutrals and be able to explore as much as you can. If you don't have some of the legendaries you need, substitute them or craft the essentials but don't waste dust on crafting one single deck that may (and probably will) be bad/outdated next month. So far the new cards that I feel are essential are:
Class epics: Call to Arms, Psychic Scream, Voidlord
I don't feel that any of the new Legendary cards is totally essential to make good decks except for Aluneth that's great in tempo mage and Skull of the Man'ari (but still neither of them is essential to play the class). If you want to craft some legendaries I would recommend crafting DK cards (Gul'dan,Anduin,Malfurion and Jaina are the best, but if you like another class go for it) or classic legendaries that will always be around.
P.S Don't make the mistake to craft Umbra or any other legendary that's meh or just used in one deck if you don't have much dust or a full collection.
Good luck! :D

I think you are pretty safe to pick something that's looking good now and start building it. mage, warlock and paladin are looking safest going into the future IMO.
Priest retains the most overall STR, but they will loose a lot of cards when the big rotation comes in a few months, where as other classes stand to loose little or nothing.
IMO you should pick either mage, warlock or paladin and go from there. see what works, try it out with the cards you have in some format and then tweak it.
It's the best time right now to be trying new things and working them out for yourself, as everyone else is doing the same and decks are evolving daily.
Don't over invest on cards that are not key, build the basic version of something you want to play (especially if it won't cost you much/you have a lot of the cards already) but it is definitely a good time to be trying stuff out. Most exciting time in the game is when new cards come out and trying to come up with something new that no one else is quite doing the same way.

Gonna leave this, world for awhile
Corridor Creeper is also an incredibly safe craft.
I always wait a month before to craft and dust anything until the meta stabilize a little
Thank you so much for the advise guys. Guess ill take your advise and wait till the first week of january before i do anything. cheers!
