Strategy: Fish for Soulfire, Succubus, Voidwalker, they will give you a good starting hand since they don't die too quickly. Vomit your hand like a normal Zoolock and once you got board control it's easy going.
Strategy: Fish for Consecration, Humility, Voodoo Doctor and Guardian of Kings, these 4 are your core cards to build upon. If you can't get consecration on turn 4 just restart the game. You have to set the board to 7 damage per turn, once you reach Turn 7 you have to play your guardian of kings. When you stabilized you can start dealing damage with your wolfriders. If you have enough HP you can play Truesilver + 1 voodoo doc + boar + blessing of kings for 12 dmg in 2 turns. Never have 3 minions out except it's for the killing blow. Put useless cards like hand of protection on the enemy or your own minions to get rid of them for cards that let you burst at the end.
Didn't make a video because it's boring and long. If people really want to see it I can do it though.
Update: Just beat Anub Rekhan HC with a basic ramp druid.
Strategy: Look for innervate wild growth and probably 1 Yeti/Shieldmasta. Put down a yeti or shieldmasta asap, once you have one watch anub wasting his 4/4 on it you can heal or buff your creatures. Combo swipe with the geomancers if you can and once you got to endgame it's over, your iron barks/gurubashis will handle it from there. :)
Final thoughts: Voodoo Doctor in every deck, most valuable card in the game!? ;) Faerlina was in hindsight the hardest encounter, a lot of RNG losses because of her ability. Maexxna was boring to do since once you got the 4 core cards in your hand you couldn't lose anymore. Anub was the best HC encounter, I hope Blizz will continue to do more of that. And of course I hope they keep basic cards in mind when designing the HC variants. I wanna beat them all with basic cards. :D
Yeah it has a lot of RNG vs. Faerlina when you pick a basic warlock. I beat her on my 2nd try and for the video on the 5th or so. You can simply just restart if your opening sucks. I think with real bad luck you would need 30 minutes to beat her with a basic warlock. Maexxna is just getting the right mulligans with a basic paladin so it won't take longer than 1-2 restarts. And Anub Rekhan ist just getting a yeti with innervate out or turn 2 wild growth into yeti/shield masta so thats easy as well. As for basic cards I only count the ones you got pre-Naxx. I will continue to do decks with that in mind in the upcoming weeks. Though you are essentially right the new cards you can earn are actually 0 cost cards as well. Might even have to use them sooner or later since Blizz will probably design some encounters around their abilities. :)
Ugghhhh.....I don't know how you guys got so lucky vs. Anub'Rekhan........he seriously gets every card he needs exactly when he needs it and slow plays me with his hero power......rnjesus really hates me.....

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
Let me guess, he coins out his hero ability on turn 1 and then continues to do so on turn 2? He does that when he has no coin play on turn 2 so you have to get lucky, just restart and keep searching for the innervate opening/wild growth on turn 2. When he starts playing minions on turn 2 instead of hero ability it's very likely you win because his minions suck in endgame while yours are big. Also hope he has this 2/8 taunt minion that when you kill it gives you a creature from your deck on the board, very powerful since the worst creature you have is a voodoo doctor the rest are all pretty capable of dealing with the board.
Yeah that was exactly how all my games went when using druid......I switched up to a priest deck and trounced him though....it wasn't a 0 dust cost deck but it was a fairly cheap deck. The funny thing about the heroic bosses is, imo at least, is that Anub'Rekhan is the hardest, the other two are simple with a decent strategy

Most of the time, Anub uses mana sor random crap cards instead of the amazing hero skill. Only this makes it beatable imo. If the match goes on long, 4/4 + random anub topdeck beats your hero skill + topdeck. Afaik anub has no target removal. You can exploit this with multi buffs.
He has shadow bolts, frost bolts and mortal coils afaik.
Yeah he has removal, in the end it just comes down to him prioritizing cards instead of his hero ability, I think it's working as intended that if he can play a card he plays the card. Otherwise it would be too punishing and force into probably 1 or 2 highly specialized decks that most have no access to. Not everyone has literally every card that is available and it is supposed to be beatable by f2p players/casuals, it just takes more attempts and/or luck. As long as you can beat him with it, it doesn't matter how many restarts it took.
I defeat Maexxna using a similar deck ... yes two common cards I know so OP ... but it makes the fight quite a lot easier by giving more flexibility in mulligan and card draw. I defeated her 2 times in 30 min with this deck.
It's not about OP or easier/harder, it's to proof you can do all HC bosses with basic cards. If that's good/bad I don't know. I hope it gets more challenging in the future.

Exactly. That's why I think that a basic Shaman with 1 big windfury + disposable taunts should be able to kill it as well.
Pilleri here. Today, I was back at home from summer vacation and could execute the game plan.
I looked at this card originally and I thought, you know, it's a card, and you play this card. The card will be that card that you play so you're playing a card. So, it is one thing to play a card. If you're opponent doesn't really have any cards, the card will screw up the card pretty hard, and that means it's a pretty good card.

Since I love challenges I decided to beat all heroic bosses with basic cards.

This has mostly been my experience with Faerlina so far...

Basic Priest vs Heroic Faerlina. To my surprise, that boss was killed on the first try.
MInd Vision is such a fun card! I grabbed a Worshipper with it. :D
How is the Plague Quarter so far? :)
