Easiest way would be to dust all your Expert cards :) But seriously though, if you are really really absolutely positively certain that you will only play Mage then you could dust the cards of the characters you don't play. I think this works for most casual players like myself, since I don't imagine myself spending much time grinding or much cash on the game, and I just want that special card (Leeroy!) to finish my Mage deck.

This is both a good and a bad Idea, if I DE cards from other classes I'd probably find it hard to complete missions, which translates into lost gold, which translates to NO arena, which lastly translates to no dust (probably) + expert packs from arena keys.
In the other hand I'd have a lot of dust to complete my mage deck which would be awesome. TY Too.
Once you have a decent collection you should be able to just keep playing Arena and get dust that way. You'll normally get at least 40+ dust each run because you're dusting everything you get at that point.

At the start of the game the best way to "grind" the card u want now or will need later is the arena. start it when you have enough experience in the game (i.e. you know all the class cards and neutrals), and you will be better and better, watch stream and you will learn what to pick (for example Kripp on twitch), its not so hard to run infinite arena. And dont buy packs! arena is more fun, you will learn more and u will get cheaper packs + gold/card/dust etc.

Actually, you should choose a number of classes (2 or 3) that you don't want to play, and DE all cards for those classes. Try to have at least 6 classes that are good enough to complete your dailies (possibly in casual mode) so you can earn gold, buy packs/arena and get those epic cards for your chosen deck.
Imo if u want to collect all cards dont de anything! I did to but it was a mistake, its very hard to craft your epics again if u de-ed them... Its an extra 700 dust for each epic, 1200 for each legendary! Disenchant gold cards if you dont like/ use them or you have both normal from it.
I second what the above poster said, though there are a couple of really bad commons I dust when they can save me a rare and I have copies of them. Also, I recommend budgeting how much dust you need and then using a spread sheet to get that dust in a way that least hinders other mid to long term goals you have deck building wise. Also, make sure you have done all of the easy to do achievements including beating all of the hard difficulty AI opponents. Finally, design your first ladder deck to be less than 2,000 total dust, so that you have something you enjoy playing to pass the time between dailies that you can play on the ladder.
The Arena can be hit or miss. THe problem with it is that in order to do well enough at it to make a profit at it you have to be familiar with most of the cards in the game and understand the balance of the three major resources of the game. Even then it can be frustrating when someone just top decks and wins in a close match. I don't play arena often, but on average I win about 3-6 games per run. I sometimes end up at 2 or 7, but I have never made it to 12 wins. I just find arena to be to much of a grind. Constructed is a funner way, for me, to gain gold.

So I'm sort of new to Hearthstone, my main hero is a Level 29 Mage.
What's your best way to get dust to build some cards?
Easiest? Buy packs of cards, dust your duplicates.
Arena. Without a doubt.
Play lots and lots of arena, once you get good enough the gold and dust will roll in

Thank you man, I will keep training in arena!

This makes a lot of sense, thank you!

DE a sylvanna before i started playing for real. Regrets.
Arena runs with 9-12 wins are awesome to get you a good amount of packs, ressources.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.
