The idea behind it was to get the Flamewakers in place and take advantage of those extra blasts of damage while holding the opponent at bay with freeze spells and minions. When things are clicking and it works, it is a really fun deck to play with, but that seems to be the exception to the rule. Anyone have any ideas to make this a little more playable?
It's... interesting, but it comes off as more of a freeze mage deck. I'd replace the Arcane Explosions with Arcane Intellects, and replace an Ethereal Conjurer with a second Ice Lance or Unstable Portal.
You have enough stalling, but with Ethereal Conjurers being your only card advantage, not only will you often run out of steam, but you will also have a hard time finding the cards you want. In short, you need card draw. It can be in the form of Acolyte of Pain, Arcane Intellect or even simple cantrips (and btw, Azure Drakes and Bloodmage Thalnos would work great with your spells too). Card draw will allow you to gather the pieces you need faster and more often.

I think those would help alot. Bloodmage seems a natural fit and I would try to fit another cycle or two in there.
Totally fair question, and I don't have a great answer. When it works, it is because the I'm able to keep my opponent from mounting any sort of offensive, and the damage I'm able to deal in the interim is enough to do them in. It's also helpful if I can get that Summoning Stone out there before casting a Blizzard or two, because that enhances my board presence while diminishing theirs. That said, I guess that's part of the reason I'm asking the question. It's a fun deck to play with, especially when I can keep them frozen and just tee off, but I don't feel like I have a lot of options if that isn't working.
like everyone else card draw is need but why aren't you using fireball it fits the theme and is really usefull maybe take out one polymorph and a arcane explosion for 2 fireballs glad to see people playing for fun and not just netdecking love the 2 conjurers and summoning stone
Both summoning stone and flamewakers need spells for their effects to work so this type of a deck is going to have to carry a lot of spells. Forgotten torch could be a good spell gives you another card outside of your deck to use. The other suggestions mentioned here are all solid. I like the concept I'll build it tonight and be able to give you more accurate feedback.

I'll tell you what, during the month of December, I was obsessed with climbing the ladder, so I just locked in a Face Hunter deck I found online and sure enough, I did pretty well that month. With that said, I was afraid to play ranked with anything other than that deck, and it made for a pretty boring and even somewhat stressful month because every loss was a star I was going to have to recapture.
Since then, though, I've been much more about trying things out, and just trying to see how I can make the cards interact, and it's been a blast. I'm not as high on the ladder, but I'm enjoying it much more. It's an incredibly fun, deep game, and there are few things more satisfying than setting something up and then having it actually trigger as planned. :)
Manawyrm is way to important card to skipp in any mage that is not freeze. Also Toni is always better than rafaam, Raffi is just way to slow an the spells are not even that good, 1 fireball of toni is already better. cone of cold/frost nova are useless without doomsayers.
Summoning Stone is cute and all, but I don't think you have enough creatures to have control of the board to protect it by the turn that it comes out, I would suggest removing it. I'm also confused by the choice of snow chuggers. If you are playing a control deck I would suggest replacing the snow chuggers with Doom Sayers. If you want more card draw then I would replace them with Loot Hoarders.

Hey, kinda new to the deck building thing, was hoping I could get some feedback from you all. I've created this Fire & Ice Mage deck:
The idea behind it was to get the Flamewakers in place and take advantage of those extra blasts of damage while holding the opponent at bay with freeze spells and minions. When things are clicking and it works, it is a really fun deck to play with, but that seems to be the exception to the rule. Anyone have any ideas to make this a little more playable?

What's your win condition?
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback!

This deck is just all over the place.
