I don't think this will be played in the current meta. Shuffle effects on cards like Malorne and Iron Juggernaut and Sea Reaver will tell you that people don't like the RNG-aspect of such cards and as such they are not played. This card too, for 6 mana playing a 4/4 is disastrous for tempo even if you might get a 4/4 later in the game. This is the reason why The Mistcaller isn't used as well.
The current meta is Tempo>Value. This card gives you value over time, but you lose too much tempo. I suggest giving him an extra stat point and Taunt to make it a bit better. Interesting idea, though.

Thanks.
Upon improving the card, I decided to take your suggestion and give it +1 Health and Taunt. Is it OP now? Or does it now contend with Mysterious Challenger?
I think the card is underpowered - if you compare this to [card]Iron Juggernaut[/card] or [card]Cairne Bloodhoof[/card] you will see it needs like at least as good stats as [card]Iron Juggernaut[/card] or reduced mana cost. Even if you get it immediately after it dies, the new 4/5 can't attack because it was summoned at the start of your turn.
Mhh. I like the card. The fact that you don't have to pay the mana cost again and don't lose a draw makes him very, very strong compared to Malorne and the Skeleton Knight.
A better card to compare him to his Cairne Bloodhoof. Same stats and mana cost (in the current version). Cairne immediately gives you another one of the same, whereas with The Martyr, you may have to wait a number of turns equal to half of your deck size on average.
Now the question is, what is better? For a deck that wants to win quick, Cairne is better. For a deck that wants to wear its opponent down and run him out of ressources, your card is better. But can Control Paladin play in that style? Could you out-last a Control Warrior or Priest? What about Silence and Shrinkmeister + Cabal? Sylvanas?
Random thoughts:
- You can condense this minion into one card by making him "When you draw this minion, summon it. Deathrattle: Shuffle this minion back in your deck."
- Why not make it a 5/4 to set it apart from Cairne?
- As a legendary, this card should really have a cooler name. If nothing from WoW lore matches just make something up.
- The taunt should be conditional, otherwise this minion becomes quite annoying.
Now, it's a 6/6 without Taunt, though I feel like it should be a 5/6 or a 6/5. Also, I renamed it to Antharus the Martyr, an original Hearthstone character.
The Martyr without background.
The Martyr
6 Mana - Paladin Minion - Legendary
Taunt. Deathrattle: Shuffle a Spirit of the Martyr into your deck. When drawn, you summon the Martyr.
5 Attack / 6 Health
He's not immortal. He just keeps coming back stronger than one can imagine.
Artist: hunduel
Summon: Light, give me strength.
Attack: You are past redemption.
Death: My spirit... shall persist...
Spirit of the Martyr token:
An idea I created by mixing Dreadsteed and Malorne by means of the shuffle into deck mechanic. He apparently looks a bit like The Skeleton Knight. Unlike Dreadsteed and The Skeleton Knight, you don't get him immediately, compared to Malorne and The Skeleton Knight, you don't need to pay the Mana Cost to play him, and unlike The Skeleton Knight, he's more consistent.
As per Agithore's suggestion, from a 4/4, the base body is now a 4/5 with Taunt.
As per two other user's suggestion, from a 4/5 with Taunt, it's now a 5/6 with Taunt, although I feel like it should be a 5/5 or lose Taunt.
In order for it not to be annoying, I finally converted it into a 6/6 without Taunt, though I feel like I should dock one stat point.

It's a cool card.
I think it would have to cost more but apart from that it is a good card.

This is ridiculous in control paladin, you can never fatigue out and you're getting a 4/5 every turn when your deck is empty.
