Hello, folks, and welcome to the Finalist Poll Topic for the first Mini-Competition of our Season 2 Finale! Unlike our usual week-long competitions, we thought it would be fun for our Season Finale to put on a few mini-competitions, which have themes much narrower than usual and which have a much shorter submission window (only 24 hours!)
Theme Restrictions:
We have whittled down ~80 valid entries to just 14 of the community's favorites.
Check out all the finalists below and vote in our poll (vote for as many or as few as you like) to help decide the winner, and be sure to check back after the poll finishes for the announcement of the winner and the start of a new theme!

All right, so let's see how our first mini-competition goes. ^_^
My thoughts on a few of the entries that stand out to me for one reason or another...
Southsea Swashbuckler: There were a few entries that I think forgot these cards would also be collectible outside of Piloted Shredder drops, and this was one of them. I think the concept is neat and could have worked... if the minion hadn't also been a Pirate itself. Since it is a Pirate itself, though, you can play two of these for only 4 mana and get yourself two immune minions that the opponent's not going to be able to do much about, and I don't think that's balanced.
Knight Trainer: This one would have been my Wild Card if it hadn't made it on its own. It's elegantly simple, it's balanced perfectly realistically alongside card like Novice Engineer and Museum Curator, and I have a personal adoration of cards that blur the lines between classes like this, especially when so thematically fitting given that Paladins are often said to be a "hybrid" concept of Warrior and Priest anyway.
Weapons Manufacturer: I'm honestly not quite sure what to think about this card. On the one hand, I think the idea of a card that does something while in your hand but is actually pretty useless to play is interesting. Its cost, unlike that of other cards, is then defined not by paying mana but paying a card slot in your hand. On the other hand, I definitely worry that it's overpowered. Yes, the sorts of decks that would make best use of this card are ones that would rather be playing minions rather than holding onto one, but as long as you have other stuff to play, the cost isn't really felt. I'd like to hear more about this from the creator.
EDIT: Adding some more just 'cause...
Unpiloted Shredder: So, while I think this card is thematically very interesting especially given this competition theme, I can't imagine that it's at all realistic. The dramatic swinginess of it is just too extreme, paying (2) to either get the equivalent of a 0-cost minion or a 4-cost minion. Like, when this card gets played on curve, it will pretty much set the tone for whether you fall significantly behind or dominate the game.
Wildhammer Guard: This was one of the few cards that managed to accomplish the competition theme well while having stats perfectly normal for a 2-drop. What's more, it was one of the only entries to go the Darnassus Aspirant route of having a beneficial battlecry with a detrimental deathrattle, but without making them direct opposites of one another. Plus, using Overload as a Deathrattle effect is really interesting, and while I'm not 100% on its balance as a collectible card, the rest of it is mechanically and conceptually well done enough that I'm willing to overlook it.
Ganging Hound: I didn't get this one at first, and I'm sort of not sure what to think about it. I mean, the really cool thing that it does is that, if your hand is empty, the battlecries self-perpetuate. Like, I play this and my hand is empty now, so I get another one, so I play it and my hand is empty again, so I get another one, so I play it and my hand is empty again, so I get another one, and so on. My knee-jerk reaction is to say that this is overpowered, but I'm not sure that it is? I don't know...
Woops.
Yeah, forgot about that tit-bit.
SOOOO-RRYYYYYYYYYY!
This version wouldn't cause the problem my current one has.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
Well, at least I made it to the finals. Gotta polish my design skills a bit more to win though, it seems.

Personally, I really love the Shadow Adept. We saw a lot of Darnassus Aspirant like effects, but this was one of the few that actually had possible synergies with both the Battlecry and Deathrattle. You could combo it with Auchenai Soulpriest to get 6 damage to the hero! You could kill it when you have Holy Champion out to gain bonus attack! You could just be a nice guy and heal your opponent! The possibilities are endless! A very nicely designed card, good work :)
One mechanic that I saw a lot which could be problematic is the "Do something bad to adjacent minions". For the Felguard it's fine, but I think some people failed to take into account when balancing that the adjacent minions affected will never be more than one. After all, unless you make a mistake, why would you ever put a minion on the other side of it? Just a note for people in the future.
I voted for Felguard Warmonger, since it would be the worst result out of all these to come out of a shredder.

Ugh. It's always the very first entry that wins. Its like lazy bastards come into the thread, check the first box without even looking at the cards, hit submit, and leave. Same thing with Fullas' videos - the first option always wins.

Aside from myself, I vote for Starlight Herald (as it is interesting in itself), and Wildhammer Guard (as it is interesting in Overload).

Weapons Manufacturer seems rly unique and cool, but kinda OP, sure it "wastes" u a card, card slot and hand slot, but still it is a buff u dont have to pay mana to activate it and your opponent cannot make it go away, that seems rly strong. The fact that u can have x2 rly seems like it would spiral out of control very quickly.
