Hello everybody! This topic is for discussion of Week #37 of our Weekly Card Design Competition. One of the awesome things about this competition is that it gets us all talking about what makes a card balanced, fun, realistic, interesting, unique, innovative, exciting, and more. However, to make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of this week's entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your card? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's cards? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!

Please refrain from the following...
Advertising Your Card. This is a new rule during Season 2. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your card only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is balanced?". Yes, getting feedback on your card is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your card for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
Pretty much designers have been tired seeing cards with complexity over quality.
It's a good attempt just to see how it works if we put certain restrictions upon complexity, which could effectively differentiate cards with brilliant ideas from those without.
The 3 lines restriction hit me hard. I didn't find anyway to remove the last three words so I had to change my whole card, even though I made something quite simple.
It's a Priest minion because I don't wanna give Handlock 20/8 Molten Giants.
I mean, technically, you can do it with Priest, but they don't really work well with Molten Giants.
And how does she work with Lightspawn? Uhm... *Smoke bomb*
That's a pretty cool card, but I would recommend deciding how it works with lightspawn before submitting. I believe lightspawn would retain its attack=health, same as if you cast something like Cruel Taskmaster on it.

Yeah, I think Lightspawn would just override it, like how he/she/it'd override the existing aura cards like Dire Wolf Alpha.

I like it. I think you were right in thinking that this should be a priest card, due to the molten giant anti-synergy. I think that it's aura effect would take priority over Lightspawn. It's a really cool concept. Good against aggro, which can sometimes be a struggle for priest. A pseudo-Eadric the Pure
Below is mine. Balanced with Fel Reaver, due to their similar style.
I wanted to do something with the tribe no other class than Druid has access to. I freely admit I'm not sure about the stats or even the Taunt. I had the idea of an Enraged Ancient who would have had charge and cost 1 less for each treant that died that game. But I didn't want to give combo druid even more reach so I went with this instead.

What do you think?
Maybe for each beast or other thing? Treant is not a tribe in hearthstone :S but the idea is good
bump his attack up to 7 and you got a card. The effect is too strong to not be within bgh range.
Hm 7/8 or 7/7? Because I want him more for a control deck, something that survives more than 1 turn, which is better?
Well he kind of reminds me of malygos, who almost has the same sort of effect. I'm not completely sold on the price. With tharissan, you could do 22 dmg just with a frost bolt and a couple of ice lances, on the turn he's played. Maybe a 9 mana 6/9 would be a little better, that way it's more of a protect-for-win thing. That's just my thoughts.
Hey guys, do you think this card is balanced? I was thinking it's like a more expensive mass Execute, with a downside. You can go ahead and destroy a lot of damaged enemy minions, but you need to keep in mind that your damaged minions will die as well (and you're a warrior). You can combo it with Whirlwind turn 10 as well as a board clear if no enemy minions happen to be damaged.

Can we make class minions too?
Sure! =)
Though a lot of people I'm sure would be happy about that, the reality is that those cards with 5 line rarely get voted for anyway :P

Previlage leads to insolence.
I don't really like this concept :(

Any suggestions? Should be a non-class card?
Maybe... nah nah nah nah

finally! no crazy weird mechanics

My submission for this week:

I'd make it 7/8 or so, because not every class uses Spells so heavily, whereas Fel Reaver's downside can be triggered by every deck.

Also for a rare card, would be insane in arena, and I think as a non-class card would be much better :))
Maybe... nah nah nah nah
