Your opponent knows one of your minions will draw you 3 cards, but which one? If they can clear the board, great. It also buffs Stealth minions, since they're not as easy to kill before the secret triggers.
More in depth on the mechanics, since Hearthstone doesn't have targeted secrets:
Your opponent won't be able to see the targeting arrow like they can with other targeted effects when you hover the card.
It will apply an effect to all your minions currently the board that says "Which one?". Only one of those would be real, and they disappear at the start of your turn when the Secret triggers.
If the Recon minion died, the Secret triggers but nothing happens.

Trivia: Yet another Warlock card from me, now a tool for Demon Warlocks. That was pretty hard to balance, but I did the best what I could. Making it have an inevitable effect makes it a really nice card, but at the same time it costs a lot. PS: Yes, you're right, I like Warlock.
Animation: Now that's an interesting part. Since it's the only Warlock secret your opponent clearly know what that thing is, so there's no reason to hide that in shadows! But it could hide YOU in them, just like Shadowform does, with a bit more red and a lot less purple.
The idea behind this is to give Priest a kind of assurance against a specific minion the next turn. For example - Patron on turn 8 (stops warsong), Dr. Boom on turn 7, etc. This is obviously not as strong vs Aggro due to the small minions, but against a Control or Combo deck it can be fairly useful.

The Idea behind this card is to prevent an OTK type of deck from... well "OTK-ing" you. Yes, the last attack that is prevented will count as armor as well, but remember, it does not make your hero immune, so if your already extremely behind on board and at very low HP, this card isn't going to do much.

For me hearthstone lacks the mechanic, where you can give minions with drawbacks to your opponent.
I was thinking about discarding an equal number of cards to the minion's attack, but stopped on this variant.

This card can be a good secret versus decks with a good board control.
