Hello everybody! This topic is for discussion of Week #34 of our Weekly Card Design Competition. One of the awesome things about this competition is that it gets us all talking about what makes a card balanced, fun, realistic, interesting, unique, innovative, exciting, and more. However, to make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of this week's entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your card? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's cards? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
WARNING:
Please refrain from the following...
Advertising Your Card. This is a new rule during Season 2. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your card only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is balanced?". Yes, getting feedback on your card is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your card for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
From the exemples you gave: tracking and fel reaver have the same effect. They both discard cards from your deck, so something like tracking is not allowed too, right or not?
@DenTennis: Thanks for the feedback. I was debating between (8) or (10). The reason for 8 is that the discard mechanic is quite rare -- but at (8) it does seem to take away a little from the giant theme.
Man, i don't understand why some people don't post here, i would love to say something about, there are great ideas but not very well executed, like this card i saw: soulburn
very interesting card, but very very op, at least 5 mana or more, does the damage for all enemies and you can even choose what card you want to discard like fist of jaraxxus, so for 1 mana, you do 4 damage to all enemies and even more 4 damage to a random enemy.
I hope more people post in the discussion topic instead of posting in the submission topic just for more votes

Yeah, discard cards is quite rare but if it costs 8 mana it would be kind op because anyway the normal body is 8/8 for a 8 mana cost, but maybe rethink in the effect and apply more things increasing its cost to 10. I don't know

Tracking and Fel Reaver do not have the same effect. The cards you lose from Fel Reaver are not "discarded" but simply "removed", and they do not activate Fist of Jaraxxus or Tiny Knight of Evil. Tracking, on the other hand, does specifically "discard" the cards, which (I presume?) does activate those other cards. Tracking is indeed weird, but I don't think I would consider those cards to still be in your deck when they are discarded. Unless I'm wrong and it turns out Tracking doesn't activate those other cards, in which case Tracking needs a wording update.

Hm i understand, i was just saying because both sounds like they have the same effect, they "discard" cards from your deck instead of all other discard-cards. But thanks for explaining
First of two ideas. Simple effect. Cost decrease triggered by card discard of any player.
- Fee fi fo food.
I think 8 is still a bit too much. I would put it at 10, since discard decks do discard cards pretty fast and a 5 mana 8/8 is kinda OP.
What do you guys think? This way, key cards like Mal'Ganis or Lord Jaraxxus can be protected more and your game plan shouldn't be completely destroyed by RNG. However, discarding still drains hand size and it reveals the card to your opponent as well.

DAMN YOU, BASED RHAPSODY!
I HAD SUCH A GREAT IDEA, AND NOW I CAN'T SUBMIT IT!
back to the drawing board, I guess.
(I find this 'only from hand' restriction really dumb, though. Was that a rule stated by the one who won the competition two weeks, or was it your decision not to let those count?)
My Submission for the week. Can summon ANY totem.. same as Tuskarr Totemic's battlecry.
Contemplated 4 mana however I think 3 mana is balanced. Look at Tuskarr Totemic's battlecry, it's basically worth 1 mana, so 3 + discarding a card seems balanced.
This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic is here.
(Please Read the Submission Topic first.)

I saw your submission, and I just don't get it. Doesn't Ancient of War exists already and do the same without the the down-effects?
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
