Enjoyed reading your commentary on those cards, Elementalkin, too bad most of them are mediocre. As far as joy comes, though, would you be so kind to look at and comment my creation? I'd be really pleased seeing it analysed that way :) It's submitted Here, and the card itself is as follows:
Aight'.
AUTHENTICITY: 3*/5 - ('board' should be 'battlefield'. Also, see Thoughts.) ARTWORK: 5/5 - (Pretty spot on with Hearthstone's aesthetic.) EFFECT: 5/5 - (I dig it.) NAME: 3/5 - (Not an existing lore reference, and I think it should be called something other than Succubus.) THEME: 5/5 - (Makes sense.)
KEYWORDS: - THOUGHTS: So, I have two issues with it. 1. It's a bit of power creep on Pit Fighter. Yes, it's a class card, but it's both a Demon (tons of synergy), and it has Taunt (conditionally, but fairly consistently). 2. It's another succubus, when Warlocks already have 2 (Succubus and Mistress of Pain). For it to feel unique, I think it either needs to have a fancier name, or maybe go with a different demoness entirely, like a Shivarra (though of course that would mean getting different art).
Aside from that, I like it. it's one of the more interesting (or should I say, 'compelling'?) entries I've seen so far.
You don't keep armor when changing hero but this is a warrior card; you use weapons to clear the board but you only have 8 health now; you use Ragnaros's hero power to kill your opponent but there're at least 3 minions on board.

Probably better to be a Shaman card.
Not considerable 4/5/2 is, for no one will thus trigger the ability. Maybe 6/5/3?
Probably contradiction in Lore as a Shaman weapon? Additionally, healing yourself when you're at 8 health will not increase your health any further.
Thanks alot for your feedback - I reduced the cost to (0) and it looks so much better :)
I really like this card.
I agree. Mana cost (0) works the best. If you want to incur any mana cost, incorporating a card draw to negate it/potentially draw into another spell may work too. But I still think (0) works really well.
Thoughts? I originally planned unstable portals but it wasn't quite the right flavour. The animation would be, a book covered in symbols would open over the top left hand side of the battlefield and your minions would be sucked into the book. Afterwards, spells would be spat out of the book and into your hand then the book would vanish. I wanted to reduce the cost of the spells so that you can still have something to play afterwards. Might consider reducing the cost to 5 or 6.
You could definitely have it cost less as you aren't just pulling cards, you're giving up board presence as well. I think on average, you could draw 2-3 cards and be happy with it's use. That's worth just 3-5 mana, not even factoring in the discount for losing control of your board. Given the downside, I'd price it at 1-2 mana. Anything else is just not worth destroying your board for.
Oh, and try to use actual art in your card, not screen shots. Here's a couple classics of a library.
I've been toying with the idea of a tempo card that disrupts enemy mana pool without destroying crystals. To give it an upper hand against zoo decks, I have also added a potential board clear with a one turn delay that removes itself as well.
Flavor wise, in WOW a Crazed Mana Surge has the Mana Drain and Arcane Nova ability. In addition, WOW-lore describes Mana Surges as magical anomalies that exists with no self preservation with the goal of consuming mana.
Feedback on effect, balance, or wording is much appreciated.
Toned down the health a little, but now I'm trying to decide on which art to use for my card. Thoughts?
For art, I prefer the one on the right. Balance-wise, I think of it as a 4-mana situational AOE which heavily favors the caster. Maybe deal that damage to all minions but itself, like Ysera Awakens, so at least the board will be a little more balanced after?

Any opinions? Note that it will work for every weapon you're holding. Only downside is that you have to have lots of minions on board to get cheap Assassin's Blade or Poisoned Blade this or next turn. Might even make tempo rogues viable again with weapons and one oil imo.

Probably 4, if you get more than one explosive it's pratically elemental destruction.
I think 3 mana is ok in my opinion, anyway it's rng.
Maybe... nah nah nah nah

C'thun is a character that has been done many times in the past, and I've always preferred the second art.

My only qualm is: Why is this an EPIC?
This one MIGHT be a little bit more powerful than Majordomo Executus, you just need to invest in armor cards. Maybe Control Warrior?

*sorry, wrong thread
is this doable?
I think so, since the requirement is sac-ing exact number of minions. What happens if the total mana cost exceeds 10?
