imo the recently competition topics are really difficult and narrow ...more and more work for people ...
Though the lore restrictions are a bit narrow this week, the limit for content is quite wide. And for lore problems, you know who to ask for #(hilarious).

I just feel that it is not a easy work any more.(read many things.....) That's fine. #(hilarious)
Here is a silly idea I had. If you've ever played Horde in WoW, you'll know who he is. If not: Gamon. It's not a very useful effect, but then he's a pretty useless character in WoW (at least he was in vanilla).
I would say that your card fits the rules. There were definitely bankers in orgrimmar in vanilla WoW. I think the card needs to be nerfed slightly. It is on mana curve for stats right now. I think 1/3 would be better.
@Firebolts: I just loved the helboar, very good idea :D, it would be better if it was a demon to combine with demon zoo, the ancient is good too, wind howler i think it's a bit too op but they are all very good
I'm deciding between these two effects for an Obsidian Destroyer card. Given that they devour magic, and their WOW ability is purge, destroying/suppressing magic when summoned/on board is a fitting effect, and I went for secrets.
Situational, but there is a good number of secrets being played in meta. Plus they are decent vanilla cards.
vs
Compare the second with Kezan Mystic and Blood Knight.
Which of these do you prefer, or neither? Furthermore, I'm thinking about changing the second to destroying all secrets, not just enemy secrets.
@nachoe, the second card is very good but very op, imagine, first, you destroy all enemy secrets, and you also gain +2/+2 for each secret destroyed, and it has a good body 3/3 for 3 mana cost, i think a 3 cost 2/3 with the same effect and +1/+1 would be balanced
The first is very good too, good vs mirror entity and the 4 damage secret from hunter
@Firebolts, I am leaning towards the Helboar card the most. and the effects work well as a Warlock card. I know it is classified as a Beast in WOW, but it might work as a Demon too, which will be more synergistic with Warlock.
the first obsidian destroyer is way better design-wise, forces your opponent into plays he didn't want to do - also adds to potentially more deck/archetype designs, which i really like. actually hope to see more cards like this one
Whelp, looks like this is my card, because I got my tabs mixed up and accidentally posted my first draft in the submission thread instead of here. guess I just need help balancing it because I can't make conceptual changes now. :(
My intention is that this minion only takes damage that is 1, 3, 5... and ignores damage that is 2, 4, 6... But I'm not a native speaker and I'm not sure about grammar issues - was I describing this clear enough or did I make any grammar mistakes?
@nachoe5 I like the first card better, but I would make it rare or even epic, as that ability doesn't seem common to me. Still trying to think of a good idea. Right now debating between Marin NoggenFoggen, Mandokir, or looking at a epic card.
Hello, folks! Sorry for not being immediately available. I don't know if I've mentioned, but I recently started grad school and have class 4:30-9:45 on Thursdays. XP
Something generic is okay as long as it's clearly represented in the vanilla game. Ogrimmar was clearly in vanilla WoW, and there was a bank with NPCs that had the title of Banker, so that makes perfect sense. What doesn't make sense and I think may be a point of contention is that all of the Bankers in Ogrimmar in vanilla WoW were Orcs, not Goblins. The Goblin model did exist in vanilla WoW, but not for this purpose.
latest competitions themes are not that good :( i miss the old ones. Can you ask the winner to choose 3 themes and then make a poll for them in the final day of the current competition?
Sorry you haven't been into the themes recently. Is there any particular sort of theme that you or other folks think we've been neglecting? We do try to give a variety, but it's possible we're missing something.
As for the process of selecting the themes each week, we do ask the 1st place competitor from the previous week to pitch us three different ideas that we can discuss or maybe synthesize into something we think would make for a fun theme, but we don't want the theme to be known in advance of the competition because we don't want folks planning and discussing it on the forums too far ahead, which would be a problem even if we had three options to be voted on.
I originally had him as a 4/4, but I didn't figure his effect was worth that stat line for 6 mana. What do you guys think? Should he be a cheaper 3/4 or 4/4, or a slightly larger 6 drop, or is he good as is? Thanks!
Interesting cards, I like the first 2 the best. Ancient protector, although cool in idea, is essentially just a crappy taunt. I'd maybe like it better if he had a different trigger, but right now I see no reason to replace the 4/5 taunt with divine Shield (whose name escapes me) with this. The Helboar is a bit more promising, but I think you overcosted it just the slightest bit, since the value and the damage scale with each other, there's really no random value. At its worse it's like a 2/2 that deals 1 damage to you (not good), and at its best its a 4/4 that does 3 damage to you. That 3 damage is worth about a mana, so you're paying 3 for 4/4 (barely worth). Perhaps only make it 1 mana?

I think it's a good card, but my concern is that while Deadmines has been in WoW since Vanilla, Admiral Ripsnarl was added to the game as part of the 'revamped' version of Deadmines in Cataclysm. So I don't know if that'll go against the contest rules or not.
EDIT: I totally fail at the quote/spoiler tag combo.
@nurgling13 I get that you're trying to make a purposely bad card, but honestly, I think it could be amade a bit more feasible I'm Hearthstone game. Think of Milhouse. Ya he's bad, but at least he has some reason to be played. This is just a useless card.
@nachoe5 I like the first one, because as soon as Ibsaw it, I wanted it in the game. Good work.
@Dartgscion I think you might want to just make the whole set up cheaper. You play this on turn 5, you maybe get the hero power by turn 6 (assuming it doesn't get silenced), but at that point a 1/2 isn't really worth anything. Either lower the cost, or change it so that the recruits are 2/1's. That stat line stays relevant in the aggro pally that this card would be run in, and then you don't have to make changes to the cost.
@nobravery as the wording is, I think it should be "AN even number", and hearthstone tends to use "ignore" rather than "prevent" (I believe). However, I think it gets the point across fine, no real wording structure complaints here.
@xXTiNyTiMXxX I've said this a lot so far this topic, I'll say it again. It could cost less. The Vapor are very comparable to Conceal, worth 1 mana. Nevermind, he Stealths himself with the vapour. Well costed, good work.

This is my sub for the competition, Admiral Ripsnarl, the fourth boss of the Deadmines instance in World of Warcraft.

Q: What did Avril Lavigne say when her Asian masseuse refused to give sexual favors?
A: "So much for my happy ending."
Would you give thanks to this card?
