Vanessa's hero power is a very mean thing to go up against. With a fast paced deck that's rather similar to her father's, giving them constant immunity is going to really throw a wrench in your plans. It gets better though! She has her own minions.
Note: Not to be confused with the reward card also called Defias Enforcer.
Either it dies immediately, or it doesn't die at all.
Have fun handling all of that! Luckily she only has 1 of the Enforcer and 2 of the others.
Oh, and she has two special spells.
Only one Vengeance.
And two board clears:
Once you bring Vanessa low, and then perform an action that would kill her once and for all, she instead Counters your attack and blows herself up. This kills all minions and does enough damage to bring your hero down to 1 Health.
For ending the Defias Brotherhood and ending the machinations of the VanCleef family, players earn 2 Defias Insurgent cards.
Heroic Vanessa VanCleef Changes
+ 15 Armor
Initially all she has is more Health, and for Vanessa herself that really is all that changes. But on the player's very first turn, before they even get to play a card...
Dialogue
Player's First Turn: I was never very good at hand-to-hand combat, you know. Not like my father. But I always excelled at poisons. Especially venoms that affect the mind.
With that said, she splashes the player with what looks like a Deadly Poison. The screen fades to black and fades back in...
AUTOCAST
Vanessa stops drawing and playing cards for now. Once you destroy the Forge:
Glubtok's Nightmare:
AUTOCAST
Unstable Energy blasts all enemies with fire for 4 damage. Those that survive have 4 Health restored to them, and are Frozen.
After Glubtok's nightmare is destroyed:
Helix's Nightmare:
AUTOCAST
After Helix's nightmare:
Foe Reaper 5000's Nightmare:
AUTOCAST
And once the Foe Reaper's nightmare is destroyed, the final nightmare begins.
Final Nightmare Begins:
The enemy hero portrait becomes shrouded in smoke, as if a rogue were permanently casting Assassinate.
If you kill all 3 of the Worgen, Emme vanishes harmlessly and actually gives all your minions +1 Attack. Then, you receive:
And Vanessa receives not 3, but SEVEN Raging Worgen.
Kill them all, and like his sister before him Erik fades harmlessly, giving your minions another +1 Attack. The player receives:
Then the smoke from the hero portrait clears, revealing:
First time James uses his Hero Power: Calissa Harrington: James...please...I love you...
James Harrington: Calissa...I am so sorry...
Once you destroy James Harrington, Calissa harmlessly vanishes and Vanessa appears. She begins drawing and playing cards like normal, and you finish her off.
Wing Reward
Don't play her in a deck with or against Edwin VanCleef. It's in poor taste.
For clearing the Mastermind, players earn one Vanessa VanCleef.
Class Challenges
There is only one Class Challenge in the Mastermind. Rogues up against Vanessa VanCleef for two copies of the card:
She's been away on assignment for a really long time. She hopes to get a souvenir for her family.
So concludes my custom Deadmines adventure. As always I urge you - yes you - to please leave a reply on the bosses, dialogue and/or cards. I will see you all next time because God knows I've already got another adventure ready to go ;-).
@trivorowo It was a blast to play through in WoW. Especially at the end where you need to save the Harringtons, and you're running like three times as fast, frantically up the side of the ship to try and reach them in time...
@Captain_Kaos Hmm, hadn't thought of that. I was thinking 'Vanessa doesn't appear except on Heroic. But if I make her a heroic-only boss like I did Algalon in Ulduar, the Deadmines will be too short. And I've already made a one-boss wing in Icecrown, so maybe I can include the nightmare potion as her Heroic change'.
maybe make the nightmares and stuff a seperate encounter?
it would make sense, IMO
exactly, this probably is a bit much, heroic has a total of 100 health split between bosses, which is a lot to play around plus a psudeo ramp advantage and its quite a lot to play around, doncha think?
@Captain_Kaos Well remember, Majordomo./Rag has 105 while trying to purge you by fire, and the boss doesn't use that ramp advantage until Vanessa returns, at which point you probably have 10 mana as well.

and that heroic version didnt ADD more stages.
no heroic boss EVER added more stages.
its ridiculous, and super complex.that better be an epic cardback.
Wing Five: The Mastermind
Boss One: Vanessa VanCleef
+10 Armor

Dialogue
Begin: I will not share my father's fate! Your tale ends here!
Emote Response - Thanks: Shut it!
Emote Response - Well Played: There's plenty more where that came from!
Emote Response - Greetings: Hello. Now kindly DIE!
Emote Response - Sorry: I don't need your damn pity.
Emote Response - Oops: Ha. Ha. Ha.
Emote Response - Threaten: The Brotherhood shall prevail!
First time she plays a minion: Did you really think I would come to this fight alone?
First time she plays Self Destruct: Fool! This entire ship is rigged with explosives!
Second time she plays Self Destruct: You didn't honestly think I would only plant ONE set of explosives, did you?
First time she kills a minion: Ha. The first of many!
Vanessa is defeated, and commits suicide: ENOUGH! I will not give you the pleasure. If I'm going to die, I'm taking you all with me! MY FATE IS MY OWN!
Reward
This is my Health, scrub!
For ending the Defias Brotherhood and ending the machinations of the VanCleef family, players earn 2 Defias Insurgent cards.

They're cool, I suggest adding better quality images though. If not for the bosses, for the cards at least.
@agithore I feel like I keep repeating this over and over, but I use whatever art I can find and if I can't, screenshots are better than nothing.
maybe you should split the tripping poison and make it the first boss of 2
a one boss wing doesn't make much sense

It's good but how did you make the dialogue boxes like with Mathias Shaw and Alexstrasza?
How id you create those dialogue boxes?
