I was a huge fan of the class design competition; even though I didn't even make it past round 1 (which is understandable, my class sucked), I think long-term fan design competitions are a great idea. If you intend to do another one, I would suggest an adventure competition or a themed expansion for one existing class.
Designing an adventure would be slick! My only worry is that people like myself who are WoW-illiterate would have to most likely create content not originally in the lore.

I too would love to create an adventure for a competition. As for wow-illiteracy that could greatly braoden the scope of ideas, so it isn't necessarily a bad thing, such as a reasonable crossover (a diablo adventure?!). Thankfully, practically all the lore is available on sites like wowpedia, so literacyifying yourself isn't to hard!

My entry in the weekly Card Contest. Head over and give some upvotes please!
Overall, the Weekly Design Competitions are amazing, props to you guys. My only concern would be that, and I've stated this before is this; cards that have profound, specific and really cool effects tend to get more votes than cards that would legitimately have a very positive impact on the game. That also ties in with a problem that I have seen someone complain about, with a lot of people making Legendaries when they get the chance, because they can have those OP and profound effects.
Well, think about it this way: All expansions and adventures will have a few over-the-top cool cards. This competition is kind of like a competition to make those cool cards. Would you rather see a North Sea Kraken go to the final? :P

Well, I would consider the CCC a success so I definitely think we will make more long-term competitions :) However it will be quite a while till the next one.

And also, any plans for another class design competition (sometime in the future of course)?
No, it seems like the CCC is best as a one of. But, maybe in the far future, who knows? However I'm quite certain there will be amore big competitions :)
On the whole I think you guys do a great job and the competitions are great for the participants and the community as a whole. As some people mentioned it might help if during voting you can't see the results. I don't know if it happens but it does make me wonder if people decide not to vote at all or change votes based on which cards are already winning or losing. Obviously it would be super sweet if there were some other kind of metrics involved than just picking your favorite, but that would require a panel of say specific judges that know the rules and wouldn't involve the community as much, at least if you wanted it to be reasonable to judge.
I would certainly be nice to see other design ideas, or even just a modified single card competition that used a different judging system. I know that for example Magic has done a few, "You Make the Card" multi-phase things where we slowly as a community decide on and then finally design 1 card. Either way, you guys are doing awesome work, so keep it up!
I think the previous guy running the WDC tried with secret voting one week but it didn't turn out very well. It ruins the excitement apart from a few cases IMO.
We might run a one/a few semi-long design challenges :) But the CCC ended last week so it will probably not be soon.

Personally, I'd love to see a week where the theme is simple commons like that (I think Beserk had something like that as one of his season finale awards).

Winners can always add rule about rarity of the card, several times were legendaries forbidden ;-)
Something that has bothered me for a while now about this competition is the people who put their cards in attachments. It doesn't look as good as the people who don't, and it really hurts their chances because people are quite simply too lazy to load up another picture. This competition is drawing in new competitors every week, and a decent portion of them don't know how to insert the full image. Maybe at the start of the next competition, you could include some brief instructions? It would really help newcomers.
I don't know if others addressed what I'm about to say so I apologise if they did. I think one of the biggest problems with the competitions is that people who post later than other people get significantly less votes, for an obvious reason, even though their ideas are not necessarily worse than those who get the chance to post at the 1st, 2nd, etc pages. That's something you should definitely address, so that everyone can get an equal chance to be at final poll.

Well they're supposedly weighted by pages. I participated in the first few weeks of the competition then left around week 10 when then specifications got boring and most of my cards that made it to the finalist polls were posted on sunday-monday, so definitely not in the first few pages.
I will say there is a trick that people started to figure out. Since the entries are weighted based on what's around them, the first few entries of each page(aka those that are actually read) get a lot of attention, but the entries in the middle aren't looked at. Therefore the best strategy is to post at the beginning of the page in easy entries, and post in the middle of the page for more complicated ones (where there are bound to be eliminations for not following the rules).
There's nothing the mods can do to make up for the laziness of users or the tendency to place the cards with the best artwork and the coolest effect in the finals and then vote for the best balanced card for the winner.
As far as feedback the competitions are great and it's amazing what you guys as moderators do every week. There are a few ways to fix the voting system but I don't think any are feasible with the current UI options. As this competition grows in size, it might require a different UI to manage successfully. Maybe instead of having voting dictated by likes, you could extend voting phase to two days and require everyone to vote during that time. Then you can upload pictures of each card to a website and create an algorythm that gives anyone who logs in through curse a Tinder-esque option for all the cards, where they can like it or not. Of course this would require hours of saving and uploading per week in addition to the base time to program the site. But it would make the competition fair.
Oh and competition highlight was the Secrets competition and by far the most controversial entry I've ever submitted. I still have no idea if this card would be worth anything lol.

Nope, not worth anything. ur better off with Ice block, it will do exactly the same thing, but better :)

You should take a look at how the finalists are decided :)
Some weeks ago it was decided that only the 1-2 best voted cards from each page were to advance to the final. I know a formula is used to determine finalists now, so I think that a better way to select them would be to determine a score for each page (more for the first ones) and choose the ~20 entries that surpass its page's score by the biggest percentage.
^Seconded. I'll repost what I said in one of the discussion threads:
I think we have enough data from past competitions to see how popular a page typically is, and then assign a "value" to a vote on a particular page based on that data. For example, we might look at the past 21 competitions and find Page 1 typically gets 200 votes, Page 2 gets 150, Page 5 gets 100, and so forth (numbers not remotely accurate). So in our next competition, a vote on Page 2 would be worth ~1.3 "Page 1 votes", a vote on Page 5 would be worth 2 "Page 1 votes" and so on for the rest of the pages.
The important thing is that this system completely stops same-page dependence; a submission receives the same score whether there's one "good" submission or five "good" submissions on their page. It also "catches" if a page is doing better or worse than average, and rewards/punishes appropriately.

you do realize that there is a formula for selecting finalists that makes it fair for all participants regardless of what page they post on right? It considers the votes received, the total votes on the page, and votes in the competition, etc. It basically makes all pages proportional to one another regardless of page number....

Nope. It was decided that the top 0-1 submission on each page were to advance to the final. The rest of the places (except Wild Cards) were to be decided by a certain formula. I think it's fair enough as it is now as every page are likely to have at least one submission go to the final.
I'd like the 'Every page has a victor' kind of feel. I say this, mostly because the front page gets the most interest, and so you see 2 8 upvotes, while none of the other cards on any other pages have even 5.
