Tokens / Clarifications:
Faceless Watcher
Druid of the Talon
Eternal Devotion
Maiev Shadowsong
Chromatic Drake
Farseer Nobundo
Druid of the Flow
Hexmaster Zalazane
Moonkin Form
While the concept of Divine egg is good, I'm not voting on it because it just has the WORST art of the batch. Seriously, doesn't even look like something from WoW.
Props given to Chromatic Drake and Faceless Watcher, though. Making that many tokens seems exhausting.
My favorite ones are Druid of the Flow, Enlist, Chromatic, Plaque Spreader and Mukla's Sidekick.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
As always, I'll try to stay on 6-7 likes, and they are: Druid of the Talon, Distillation, Druid of the Flow, Chromatic Drake and Saidan Dathrotan (?), Hexmaster Zalazane, A Game of Chicken! and Natural Selection too. Same reasoning as Firebolts not to vote Divine Egg here, the art doesn't suit the card, if only it would've been more real, it would've got my vote as well, might change my vote to add this as well, I'll see.. as for the favs, I chose those ones because they would greatly support beast druid, as well as giving them early drops (my card that didn't make it in time had the same intention, to give druids a strong 1-drop, but I'm glad that the Druid of the Flow made it though!), as for the others, I've voted the ones that have a great lore synchronization or a strong tie between the card art and the text, I like the artistic part of a card as well, but I don't forget it's balance relying on cost/effect, all in all, this was a good week in terms of the theme/resulted cards!
mfw his Yogg steals my win
Ah... How I missed those ridiculous amounts of token clarifications. Good to see them again.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
Really like Druid of the Flow, Druid of the Talon and Enlist, very interesting cards.
Least favourite is Chromatic Drake by a long shot, most if not all of the variations are just objectively better than existing cards.
You can find me here! Good luck everyone!
Really? I have to say, and this is just my personal opinion, every time I see entries like those that are filled to the brim with unique tokens, I don't think "creative"; I think the opposite and it just turns me off. It's easy to look like you did a lot of work when you physically made more cards, but unfortunately the vast majority of the time I see submissions like this, it just seems they're pure quantity over quality. =/
Urgh, I want so badly to vote for some of these cards, but the improper card text and/or imbalances are turning me off. Thankfully, there are at least two cards here that I think deserve to win, so I guess I'll only be voting for two this time. I'm gonna go with Druid of the Flow, and Saidan Dathrohan (?).
Druid of the Flow is my favorite finalist this week, with lovely, compelling card art and a pretty cool effect. I like Zombie Chow variants, and I think this one is fair considering the condition. It also helps to enable a different deck type, which is commendable. My only misgiving about it is that there is no such thing as a "Druid of the Flow" within the lore, though I suppose that's a minor gripe.
I knew Saidan Dathrohan (?) was a shoo-in from the moment I saw it. It's a brilliant idea that is actually helped by what would otherwise be an irksome anomalous card name, purely on the strength of its lore. I also appreciate the added attention to detail in actually labeling it a Demon. Although I'm not sure how viable its effect would be to see play, it's yet again another one of those cards that I could see being real additions to the game, and that's good enough for me. My only problem with the theme of this card is that there is no deathrattle (though I understand why), which feels inappropriate considering the character.
Calling it right now: Druid of the Talon wil be first and second and third will be between Druid of the Flow and Chromatic Drake.
Worst case scenario: Divine Egg takes one of the spots.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
I agree, I wish I could have found better egg art for my idea. But finding decent egg art that fits priest is, or at least was in my case, very difficult to do. I was also looking for cocoon art as well with the idea of making the card "Divine Cocoon" but otherwise unchanged and I just could not find any art that I was satisfied with. Just about all warcraft cocoon art involved spider victims. The art I chose was what I felt was the best I could find to fit the priest and while I found other egg and cocoon art that easily fit with other classes such as Warlock or Mage, I really wanted to make that card for priest.
Surprised to see my entry here. I thought the community were so immersed in creating and reading dozens of tokens that they won't notice my card...
THERE IS NO GAME.
It's the first time i see my submission in the finalists, and it's strange. Because i know i'm one in a lot of people that are trying to make it this far, but now i feel like to lose this makes my work to lose it's value, it would just be one of the three betters or one of the others. I don't like that stupid feeling. Everyone's work has a lot of value! The competition is made to unleash our imagination and share it with other people, not just to select a winner and give him a prize, i should have that in mind.
Good luck to everyone, i liked a lot the divine egg, i imagined combinations with divine spirit and other cards to summon a deathwing from the egg. What would happen if the egg had 13 life?
Sorry if i have too many spelling errors, i'm really noob in the english thing XD.
Great stuff made it to the finals here, cheers to everyone who submitted and congratulations and good luck to the finalist!
If the egg has an amount of health that doesn't share a minion cost, it doesn't trigger. That's how I had it explained on the submission page, seemed to be the most logical way to handle those rare instances.
Oh damn, I made it to finals. Glad a few people enjoyed the concept of my card
Alot of good cards here. Good luck to all!
I think to have a knee-jerk reaction either way is daft. Seeing lots of cards and saying "Wow that's an amazing submission" or "This is bad... just overkill" rather than spending time to judge the quality of the content created isn't doing justice to the person who created the content or others participating in the competition.
Perhaps, but couldn't we say the same of every other criteria people use to judge entries?
For some folks, a cards that's unbalanced (either over-powered or under-powered) can immediately turn them off, but we could also say that focusing excessively on balance rather than judging the quality of the idea presented is unfair. For some folks, a cards that has bad art (for example because it has low quality or depicts something objectionable) can immediately turn them off, but we could also say that focusing excessively on art rather than judging the quality of the mechanics presented is unfair. For some folks, a card whose grammar or wording is inconsistent with Hearthstone's can immediately turn them off, but we could also say that pedantically focusing on trivial questions of wording rather than judging the idea behind the words is unfair.
I don't think there's anything particularly unfair about judging an entry based on its unique token count compared to any of these various other criteria people have and openly discuss. It's just another one of those areas where folks differ in what they're looking for, and my personal perspective just happens to be akin to that saying "Brevity is the soul of wit". Not that I can't get over that when appropriate, for example I loved the Ogre Pinata entry from our Ogre Smash! competition. =)
Surprised my card actually made the poll. this is actually a win for me lol. Happy some people really liked it. :D
I do wonder... Why are less people voting for this season of competitions?
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
Summer in Europe :)
That's the exact oppisite! that would mean that MORE people vote this season, while in reality there are less voters.
