this is kinda hard to achive the effect and more to save the effect to long time.
really cool effect, but strong,,, would be 10/4 beside 1 Flametongue +ana T though, or with a rckB** ... Double might be high/wrong term, could just reflect the flameT effect of +2 and would still be strong (7/4 with FT)? Hope you don't mind if I say I think his name, Totem Fury is a bit Wrestlemania :) like a special move or something.
@valorie
Valorie Said > What about a minion that has "non-adjacent friendly minions have +2/+2[for example]"? really effective
That's perfect! What theme would you use?
you got me thinking of a very similar iteration Mech with ''Enhance defence bot'' or something - 6/6 at the end of your turn give your peripheral minions Divine Shield''
Don't like the image yet tbh, but just for now,.. (Edit - your version was far better, but I thoguht he was too strong as epic.
Had this one too.Looking a the gameplay, the relationship changes from opposite to diagonal on opposing side depending Odd vs Even. So this is what i tried. If there's a single enemy minion, it's just a charger unless you can support it with another minion. Then your opponent must consider positioning and numbers of their ow minions.
Just now I was busy and didn't have enough time so I merely put one of my old cards here. But I've got something that sounds crazy - I don't know if you think this is acceptable for Hearthstone.
So mainly, Hearthstone is more like a board game than a computer game, except for frequently used random effects. So my idea is that maybe we can introduce something more 'computer game' to Hearthstone, something like:
4 mana, Mage Spell
Deal 3 damage to all minions in a certain area.
The area can be chosen by players, similar to Human Mage Hero's Blizzard in War3. But I don't know if you think this is acceptable, because this is somehow too unusual for Hearthstone now.
Elusive: Can't be targeted by spells or hero powers.
How can I reduce the amount of text on Seer of the West? If you play him without any adjacent minions, nothing happens. He puts 1-2 minions directly from the deck based on how many minions he shuffled back in.
Max the Mad summon Boom Bots on a random side of him, to prevent 4 Imps summoning 4 Boom Bots.
earlier I read it as a 3 mana cost minion, so I've got to agree with rdeegan that it needs a buff instead. Perhaps 3 mana is not bad, given Dark Cultist is around.
I have a very specific question. I want to make a minion, that always is on the far left. If other minions are played, they cannot be placed left to that minion. How do I word it?
I don't like this kind of mechanic, because with an even number of minions on one side and an uneven number on the other, there is no "in front of". So it's kinda messy.
i3ackero
I really like the idea, but I think it's too expensive right now. It's kinda like Betrayal, but you need another card to actually deal the damage. I guess, it would be better at 2 mana or even 1, especially because Shaman lacks card draw. You could also add "Draw a card." to the text and it would be fine at 3 mana.
I think, the card is to weak as is. The turn you play it, it's a 4/4 for 3. That's good, but not amazing. The next turns you either can't use your hero power or it becomes a 2/4 without effect. That's just bad. Additionally, positioning matters to shamans. You should weight in, that throws off "normal" positioning.
Make it either a 3/4 baseline or +4 attack and it should be fine.
I don't like this kind of mechanic, because with an even number of minions on one side and an uneven number on the other, there is no "in front of". Yes, you can make up a rule for those cases, but it stays messy. Wouldn't vote for it for that reason.
I don't like the 1 health. It just makes it too easy to deal with as rogue. Beside that, the mechanic is really fun and makes facing rogue a bit more complicated positionwise.
When you adjust the health, you might consider placing the minion on the left, because all tokens are spawned on the right.
You would have to make it "Your opponent gains control of...", because when the Battlecry hits, you opponent has control over it. And that's just too complicated of a mechanic.
I have a very specific question. I want to make a minion, that always is on the far left. If other minions are played, they cannot be placed left to that minion. How do I word it?
Currently my card looks like this:
"Minions can't be placed to the left of this minion."
With this wording, you still could play it on the right side of the field. I want it always on the left side.
To explain the reasoning of this card: It has slightly better stats than a potentiall vanilla 5-drop. I want to give it a small negative effect, so I thought about locking its position. You can't put it next to a buff-aura, you can't play around specific cards like Betrayal and so on.
Also, the text should be as short as possible. It's an effect, with little impact so I don't want much text.
@varolie. My first instinct is that it's legendary, as the effect in a minor minion might be op for aggro. But as a legend I wonder should it summon a minor minion with it just to aid the effect?
I was liking the Mech Flavour, and with yr guy I just thought about a ''Electrical amplification'' type mech : The last in line becomes the Earth and generates more 'shock' to be harnessed, or something :) (sounds Shamanie)... hmm so a legend mech summoning some kind of ''battery bot'' might be cool (is there such a WoW lore mech with batteries involved, i seem to remeber some boss fight with those kind of antics?)
That said, you could think of other effects than +/+?. I really liked the mechanic idea, and made a suggestion based on yr idea http://www.hearthcards.net/cards/7e901ca3.png earlier with the Mech flavour.
Thoughts about this card? :3 It's not a troll entry, Stephen Colbert was actually planned of being turned into an actual WoW TCG card. This is meant to be a fun but not ridiculous card. Mega-Divine Shield = 4 divine shields in one. Color of FREEDOM: Blue and Red shield with a white number on it depicting how many charges the shield has left (starts at 4, then 3 etc).
Quadruple Divine Shield is crazy. Double Quadruple Divine Shield is insane. Put it between two taunts and you opponent will never be able to touch you again. Way overpowered regardless of body and cost.
Those are the two cards I currently consider. While I think Turok is well balanced, I like the flavor of the Ranger better. It's a control card for hunters. Everyone loves these, right?

I love the art and the idea of it. (Freedom!)
That said, I feel this is a tad bit broken. Because its an 8/6 and gives two targets 4 divine shields. Basically apply this to a taunter (sludgebelcher would be devestating) and they have to spend a good chunk of there time removing that off the board if they dont have removal. Meanwhile they got an 8/6 tearing you a new one.
I feel at the very least his attack power should get notched down a bit. 4-6 maybe? And MAYBE make it just 3 divine shields instead of 4. Stacking w is powerful enough as it is.

I think mega divine shield would be 2 charges not 4, mega would double the effect of a keyword IMO, plus that tones down the powerlevel to something more practicle, though emperor into sefen colbear and bloodknight = 21/21 blood knight + 8/6 stefen would be pretty damn funny to see.

Thanks for your feedback, guys! I didn't balance it as much as I should have but I wanted it to be something a bit crazy. If you've seen The Colbert Report I think you'll understand why :P Also, the oroginal card's text was supposed to be "Truthiness. You can't lose and your opponent can't win" haha :D So it was meant to be over the top because that is what Colbert's character is. If I were to submit it I would change it to a random adjacenr minion though. Still very strong but...Tirion Fordring :P I just came up with a scary idea - Dr Fordring. I bet you can think of the rest ;)
Also, "Mega" basically doubles the effect of Windfury, but if Blizzard were to add Megabto something else I think it would be 4 charges because it is more fun and extreme, while still being justifiable because if the 4 attacks Mega-Windfury has.
I would use a different concept art for Shaw. Another Mathias Shaw with the same art finished second 2 weeks ago, nevermind if it was you. Other than that, the card is solid, I just didn't find it interesting.
I don't see sleight of hand used in any deck honestly. Why, exactly?
Your last card on the other hand, can be a reasonably fun arena pick. I like it. If you are afraid it is overpowered(and I definitely don't think it is), just turn the Battlecry into a Deathrattle. That way, the opponent has a chance kill or tweak the minions that will be affected before killing the Alchemist off.

THERE IS NO GAME.
Please help me decide :)

hey Yuvalal,
earlier I read it as a 3 mana cost minion, so I've got to agree with rdeegan that it needs a buff instead. Perhaps 3 mana is not bad, given Dark Cultist is around.
Emerald Steed is interesting, would work as a healer for damage minions, then sac it to gain attack back

tl;dr.
Make the text shorter. Even if it the effect of the card would slightly change... just take the general idea.
yuvalal
Make it 3 mana, then it's okay.

Interesting effect, I like it.

so i have two ideas in the same vein as my non-adjacent +2/+2 buff minion.
A smaller mimon with non adjacent minions get +1/+1 for each minion adjacent to this one,
or a legendary with Non adjacent minions have +1/+1 plus An additional +1/+1 for each minion adjacent to this one.
Which of the three is most exciting? I still can't lock down the flavor yet and am open to suggestions

So i'm looking for better art.
Is such a secret good idea? I think it would be great if your minions are properly placed.
Behold Ragnaros the Firelord! He who was ancient, when this world was young!
@varolie. My first instinct is that it's legendary, as the effect in a minor minion might be op for aggro. But as a legend I wonder should it summon a minor minion with it just to aid the effect?

Far too strong for 1 mana IMO. I already think Avenge is a pain to play against, this would most likely be worse :P
