Question: How would folks feel about this phase and all future competition phases having poll topics that are open for 48 hours rather than 24? It's just that with the larger amount and density of submission material involved, I want to keep things open a bit longer to give folks more time to check everything out and make more informed voting decisions. This wasn't so much a problem with Phase I because up-voting could be done the entire time the submission topic was open, but it's different now for the future phases when we're only going to have poll topics determining who advances.
Or is this too last-minute a change in procedure to be agreeable?
I think it's a good idea. This format doesn't need to follow the rules of the Weekly card competition. It also needs to garner some kind of exposure, so that helps with that. I hope it will be featured on the frontpage as well.
If you are choosing the chaos, then so be it! But I'm aware that the text sometimes gets pushed around and looks like it's all over the place when you have 4 lines. But oh well, that doesn't really bother me much tbh.
"that this damages." still sounds super wrong though. That on the other hand is something that would bother me. xD
edit: How about you cut the 'and' out? Like this: "Freeze a minion. Give it 'Freeze any character damaged by this minion.' It also makes sense to word it this way because the minion gets frozen first and then the other effect is added. So for example if you would have a card that has an effect like like "Whenever this minion gets frozen, deal 1 damage to a random enemy minion" it would be more obvious that if you cast Lich Slap on it that the 1 damage from its effect can not freeze an enemy minion because it gets triggered before the second effect is added... Damn this stuff is too complicated.
Yes, I'm familiar with the limit being 4 lines and not 3... it's just that it does this thing where only the last word goes onto the fourth line, the the text itself looks ugly and then all the lines get pushed to be smaller instead of being once nice box of 3 lines.
I don't know, it's just me (and I think I saw someone else who liked 3 lines too, I think it was the barbarian guy), I have a lot of cards that use 4 lines, but it's only if I have to. Everything just looks so much better with 3... and sometimes I'll sacrifice a little bit of convention to achieve it. I feel like that's how hearthstone should be, rather than stubbornly sticking to wordy and formal conventions. For heck's sake, we have contractions in our card text!
Here's what it looks like with the full text... the F in the first line overlaps the border of the card text area, the text looks like an Illuminati triangle, and the last word has only one line... the stuff of nightmares, man.
Err, if you'r using Hearthcards, you CAN start a new line artificially to prevent that. I do it all of the time to get my cards looking neater. Here's an example:

If anything, I'd rather funnel an increase in time by a day or two into next week's creation period, since we have to make 15 cards ;_;

Actually, this change wouldn't result in a decreased amount of time for the next phase. Everything would just get pushed back a day. so instead of Phase III being July 7-13 for Submission and 13-14 for Polling, it'll be 8-14 for Submission and 14-16 for Polling. Similarly, instead of Phase IV being July 14-20 for Submission and 20-21 for Polling, it'll be 16-22 for Submission and 22-24 for Polling.
If anything, this actually does give you an extra day to think about Phase III. =)
And don't fret about the larger number of cards. Once you have more mechanics to work with, your design will be much less restricted... Plus, in my own desire to make an authentically believable Basic and Classic Sets for my own class, I might have charted up some graphs of costing patterns and effect distributions and such in existing classes that I'd be perfectly willing and eager to share, so that might help you figure out what else it is your class could use.

THIS!
I have no idea how Hearthpwn decides what makes it to the front page, but this should!

I've already spoken to Flux (the person who runs this site, for those of you who don't know, he's awesome), and they do plan on helping us promote at least the Poll Topics for Phase III to determine the Finalists and for Phase IV to determine the Winner. =)

I asked but I have not! ;_; We have spoken since then, and it must have just slipped both of our minds, apologies. I'll ask again. XP

OK, np. Im not sure if it bothers just me, but those big ass pics r soooooooo annoying to go through :X It was so much better, when they were restricted to 200 x something pixels.
Would you rate this effect suitable for a legendary or would epic be enough?
Your hero power costs (1) and has no cooldown.
Reminder: My hero power is "Summon a 1/1 undead with charge that dies at the end of the turn". There will be undead buff cards available, but nothing overly crazy. (Atm: +2 atk aura for 3 - 4 mana).
Epic good enough or does it need to be a legendary?

Thanks for all these suggestions... Asylum's looks the cleanest, and I think I'll use that.
Still though, 3 line supremacy isn't dead! I'll be back!

I very much approve of having a 48 hour period.

The poll is up! ^^

My god! You should have replied to one of my posts so that I would have gotten the notification!
