The only two cards that it might be better is Death's Bite (extremely situational, honestly destroying it more often then not messes up a warrior combo so it's better to blow it early) and Ogre Warmaul.
Maybe in the future there will be more worth silencing.
You know, when your opponent has an Annoy-o-Tron or Whirling Zap-o-matic on board (which you can't kill), you don't want to destroy Powermace if there's no way to silence it. But then they can still proc it next turn anyway.
Then you'll be like... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

"I mean, I have moments of huge frustration because of my inability to express myself linguistically as clearly as I would like to."
Instead of talking about a new type of silence, what about just discussing if normal silence should affect weapons as well.
Edit: I see Velerios is unto the same thing :p
Because expanding the use of existing cards limits the creative space for the developers to insert new cards into the environment. This is also the same reason why it is worth considering this effect rather than just another weapon breaker.
The developers have already said that they intent to be very cautious about adding more silence to the game environment because it is an inherently un-fun mechanic (seeing as its purpose is to remove all the interesting stuff from another card). Likewise, I think they need to be careful about making too many new weapon breaking abilities or weapons will simply cease to have any place in the game.
I don't really see the point of silencing a weapon.
Silence is meant to shut down minion's abilities, more than minions themselves. You get rid of a taunt, divine shield, buffs, deathrattle, but not the body of the minion itself - silence a Belcher and the opponent still have a 3/5 body, that can be useful for a couple of things.
Weapons, although having some abilities, are more important due to their raw stats than their abilities. Silence a weapon and you will still have to deal with their power and durability, which is a form of lackluster design, in my opinion.
I can't see how a weapon silence could be more efficient than Ooze or Harrison Jones.
In the end, if a minion had this power, it would have to be somewhat mana efficient. In the end, people would just play it because of it's body, and not for the silence effect.
