Hello everyone! When Starving Buzzard was created it was a card draw resource that gave the Hunter Class to much value for his low manacost, however a 5 mana 3/2 holds no value, is to easy to remove and takes to long to get value from it (You need to draw 2 cards to pay the tempo loss that playing the buzzard did to you, and if the card is alive after and you keep getting value from in it, thenyou are probably winning anyway).
Is it fair for a class to always have a huge card advantage? No
But is not fair to have a dead card the is virtually unplayable... So, how does one create card advantage without draw? Then answer is tempo.
This new starving Buzzard not only has obvious sinergy with cards like Houndmaster, Shattered Sun Cleric or Defender of Argus. It provides another solid 2 drop (Beast) that allows hunter to secure a more midrange oriented playstyle and overall more Beast synergy.
This second card is a little hard to balance, I had a hard time going over the stats (A 5 mana 6/4 or a 6 mana 7/4) and I'm open to edit the values on this card.
It might be a bit difficult to give Hunter another legendary (It would be the first class with 3 legendaries) but let's face it (No pun intended). Hunter doesn't need legendaries that are played on turn 8 or that need preparation before they can be used in an effective way. What Hunter needs are effective cards aimed to midrange that can bait poor trades (2x1) or generate tempo.
Has it is now the original Hemet Nesingwary is a poor excuse of a card and while I do feel that any card game needs to have "bad cards" in order to be able to measure the power level of the cards in the metagame I do think that is pointless to invest time and work on cards that will never see the light of the day.
What I mean is that is ok to create slightly bad cards to test the waters, but there needs to be a follow up "tweaks" to compensate.
Just No. Stop trying to increase the power of Hunter please.

Their "philosophy" was to not change the cards in the game, since players should "figure out" ways to counter or enable those cards that's is something that they keep saying and right now there is a long list of cards that have been changed since the Beta, for crying out loud Undertaker just got nerf!
Well the advantage of Starving Buzzard over Stoneskin Gargoyle is that it actually trades with minions of his same manacost and doesn't force you to commit that much on the card.
I agree about the value with UTH and I tone down Hemet Nesingway a little.

I did not say change. I did say BUFF that is a big difference. Look at all the cards that got changed since the release of closed beta. Yes there were quite a few but the number of buff received equals to zero.
Starving Buzzard could theoretically trade with minions of the same mana cost in your adjusted version but how? It can't kill a 3/2 without dying on it's own. You could let it attack into a 2/3 and then sacrifice another minion into that to heal up the buzzard but then you made a 2for1 trade on a 2/3 which is just bad.
It would eat 2 one drops with the potential of being healed in the meantime under a condition that does not really favour you while Stoneskin trades not as good it doesn't come with a condition attached to it. And don't get me wrong the concept is actually decent i just don't see a place for it.
- Hit the 2/3 with your Buzzard then send a 1/1 or 1/2 in to them (Hounds, Web Spinner, Haunted Creeper) and you won't be trading a 2x1 in to their 2/3.
- You can kill 2/1 then trade something else with another minion to heal up Buzzard.
Also I put Buzzard has an small drop because I fear that if the card had more health (and attack) it could snowball out of control, let's say for example that is a 4 mana 3/5. The stats are balanced, but the effect on those kind of stats could generate a wall that your opponent cannot pass, same could happen with a 3 mana 3/4 (Not so much with a 3/3 but still).
BUT, I'm open to suggestions regarding the stats and manacost, if you think that the card would be more interesting with high stats/manacost let me know.
The starving buzzard idea wasn't bad, it's just so situational it'd still overall be a bad card, but the hemet suggestion was just completely poorly thought out.
