The civil war sparked by the Atal'ai priesthood may be over, but its dire ramifications live on. Within the jungles of Stranglethorn, a dark presence stirs. The great city of Zul'Gurub, once the heart of the Gurubashi Empire, lies in ruins, but its temples thrum with power. Hakkar, the Soulflayer himself, has returned. The priests of the Loa have fallen victim to his corruption, even now spurring him as he eases into the material world. The hour of the Atal'ai may yet be at hand. You, brave hero, must end the tyranny of the blood god. Venture into Zul'Gurub, vanquish the slaves of Hakkar and seize the secrets of Stranglethorn Vale!
Set-Up:Bloodlord Mandokir begins the encounter with the Bloodlord's Decapitator equipped. On Normal Mode, this is a 2/7 weapon with the following text: cannot be destroyed. He also begins with Oghan in play, a 2/3, 2-mana beast minion with the following text: can attack Restless Spirits. The player begins the encounter with three Restless Spirits, 0/4, 2-mana minions with the following text: cannot attack. Can only be damaged by Oghan. At the end of your turn, restore 2 health to your hero. Mandokir's Hero Power is Ding!, a passive with the following text: whenever an enemy minion dies, give your weapon +1/+1 and increase the damage dealt by Decapitate (a unique card in Mandokir's deck) by 1. Bloodlord Mandokir is a single-phase encounter and has 40 HP.
Designer's Notes
Bloodlord Mandokir steadily ramps up in difficulty as the encounter progresses, his weapon and direct damage spell Decapitate becoming increasingly powerful as the player's minions die. In order to offset this, at least initially, the player begins the encounter with three Restless Spirits, which provide the player's hero with constant, reliable healing. These minions cannot be destroyed or damaged by Mandokir, allowing them to take the edge off his attacks whilst refraining from buffing his abilities. However, the Bloodlord also begins the fight with Oghan, his raptor minion, who is able to attack and destroy the player's Restless Spirits. Controlling Oghan thus becomes of paramount importance, as losing the healing the Spirits provide could be fatal in the early stages of the game. Taking the Bloodlord to the late game also has its problems, as eventually his weapon, as well as his Decapitate spell, will get out of control. The principle is to control Mandokir and Oghan early and finish him off soon after, before his abilities can spiral.
Heroic Mode
- The Bloodlord's Decapitator has been changed from a 2/7 weapon to a 3/7 weapon with the same card text.
- Decapitate now costs 1 mana, down from 2, and deals a base of 5 damage, up from 3.
Designer's Notes
The heroic mode of Bloodlord Mandokir is very similar to the normal mode, except his abilities and weapons do significantly more damage and cost a little less. This means he has to be defeated even faster than before, as too many successive ''Ding!'s' can result in a very quick death. Oghan has not been changed, as I felt increasing his attack would be too punishing, as would be weakening the Restless Spirits.
- NEUTRAL CARDS: 2x Gurubashi Berserker, 2x Amani Berserker, 2x Bloodfen Raptor, 1x Silverback Patriarch, 1x Oasis Snapjaw, 2x Stranglethorn Tiger, 1x Boulderfist Ogre, 2x War Golem, 1x Lord of the Arena

After the little fiasco with part one of this series, I have decided to upload all card images directly to imgur rather than trying to link them in each post and giving you nothing to look at. Leave constructive criticism below as to how I can improve this one- next time, the High Priestess of Hir'Eek, Jeklik. Thanks.
No, its a fan-made project. It's not actually going to be added to the game.
WOW, I literally just wasted 2 hours of my life watching that crap thinking that it would've been the next DLC -.-
That has to be the single rudest comment I have read on this forum.
The Original Poster spent time crafting this for fun / enjoyment and because you couldn't read what forum you were in you decide to leave that kind of feedback, for shame dude.
Anyway I love the design of this boss, really captures the feeling of the original encounter in ZG, I like the idea of the spirits aiding you. Its a great way to tackle it without using my suggestion below (which would require a whole new Aura / animation to be built) My only note was I pictured the spirits having some form of Aura (like the female drawf whos name escapes me from BRM) that when the hero dies instead destroy this minion and resurrect the hero.
Also another note, you may wish to link to your previous article in case someone like me stumbles across this and wants to see your previous work.
If the original poster is reading this, i didn't really mean "crap" but i was mad due to the fact that i was so pumped for the cards that they've made to be added to the game whilst i found out that they wouldn't after spending 2 hours on it.
And to rykon, if this is the rudest comment that you've seen in this forum then you have to buy yourself some glasses mate :)
It's funny cause you need to buy some glasses too, so you can read that Fan Creations before you "waste" 2 hours of your exciting life! lulz
To the OP, nice work mate, I enjoy this kind of stuff ^^
It doesn't say "Fan creations" on the youtube video that i watched at, it says "(Mekkatorques workshop) zulgurub" which i thought was a blizzard moderator.
This isn't even that Youtube video and there are 0 links to youtube in this post, you have got the wrong user here. you degrading someones hardwork and time because you don't understand basic information or how blizzard handle their media.
@OP: I have down a little more reading on the original encounter, I love how you have really stuck to the flavor of that encounter.
have you considered some form of deathrattle when then last ohgan card dies to enrage the bloodlord?
It doesn't say "Fan creations" on the youtube video that i watched at, it says "(Mekkatorques workshop) zulgurub" which i thought was a blizzard moderator. I'm not used too how blizzard presents their expansions and games so i thought that this was their way of showing how the new expansion will be.
And yes, it wasted 2 hours of my exciting life which i could've studied on so i could've gotten a A on my big fat test instead of a B.
And if you in any way are enjoying this video, then i only got one thing to say.
GOOD4U
There is a YouTube video from Noxious and The Chiv on the front page, but that has nothing to do with this post.
