A little bit about myself, i have played HS for many years and my deck of choice was Reno for majority of it. When Kazakus came out my go to Reno deck was Warlock, however when Shadow Reaper Anduin was released my main deck became Raza Priest from then until now.
Few days ago i had discussion in the Youtube comments about Kazakus in modern day Hearthstone. Kazakus has aged very poorly, even back in the past some options were rarely picked because they were that weak. Kazakus was go to way to deal with Jades and resurrect Priest using 10 mana sheep potions giving you enough time to set up your win condition. However today those decks got better cards that do same thing or even better without deck restrictions or even wasting 4 mana trying to reroll potion of your needs.
So my idea for buffs/rework:
- Manacost (unchanged): 4 mana
- Stats (buffed): From 3-3 to 4-4 (Highlander decks don't care that much when it comes to stats, however it still feel miserable to drop Kazakus against aggro just to see it traded with 1 mana cost drop from opponent.)
- Felbloom (unchanged): Deal 2/4/6 damage to all minions.
- Goldthorn (buffed): From give your minions 2/4/6 health to give your minions 2/4/6 health and 1/2/3 atk. (This potion is based on Priest class, even thou Priest was always famous for buffing health, they can also buff atk. This card is supposed to synergize with your board and resurrection part of the spell, also to negate negative part of Felbloom on your side of the board. Even if you resurrect your minions , with just hp, they won't be any treat to opponent and hearthstone has stopped being board based game since long time ago. At least like this that resurrected Reno that is now 7/12 after the buff, might just be a treat to opponent)
- Hearth of fire (unchanged): Deal 3/5/8 damage.
- Icecap (buffed): From freeze 1/2/3 random enemy minions to freeze 1/3/all enemy minions. (This option was too weak even back then, that is why i think it should be updated based on power level of modern day freeze cards)
- Ichor of Undead (unchanged): Resurrect 1/2/3 friendly minions that died this game (I wondered if this potion needs bufff, however with buffs to Goldthorn potion, who was often paired with this one, it would be enough)
- Mystic Wool (buffed): From transform random enemy minion into a sheep/transform all minions into a sheep to transform enemy minion into a sheep (isn't random)/transform all minions into a sheep. (for all the requirements needed to get 5 mana potion with polymorph, there should be more consistency. Ofc since both Mystic Wool and Heart of Fire target that 5 damage is going into a sheep, which is something that some might say is a nerf, but it think it is worth tradeoff)
- Kingsblood (unchanged); Draw 1/2/3 cards
- Netherbloom(buffed): From summon 2-2/4-4/8-8 demon to summon 2-2/4-4/8-8 demon with rush (Only if you can trade with minion right away and get its value from it does big bodies matter, otherwise they won't accomplish anything, they will just die to random spell).
- Stonescale oil (buffed): From gain 4/7/10 armor to gain 4/8/12 armor (This isn't too big of a buff, but i think it is like Icecap made in consideration with power level of armor related cards released in modern day hearthstone and unlike Icecap which was garbage in the past, Stonescale oil was often picked against aggro, that is why it gets just slight buff)
- Shadow Oil (reworked): From add 1/2/3 random demons to your hand to light 2/4/all cards in your opponents hand on fire, in 3 turns any still in hand are destroyed. (This potion option was created to be played with the worst highlander card ever printed and ofc it was for warliock. I can't explain just how trash this potion is. One of the worst problems of modern control decks is hand size, you are always at wits end how to manage your hand and this bloody potion add 3 trash demons to your already full hand. Terrible. The reason i chose this other effect, which belongs to 4 mana cost card from warlock called immolate, is because original potion is based on warlock so i chose effect similar to warlock's and the other reason is because control decks that play Kazakus often struggle vs combo decks, so i took this effect which could help them a bit)
